If anything, anime helped broaden my perspective in a lot of things. Being surrounded by SJW values before I got into anime really didn't. I was initially flabbergasted at the fact that girls can & DO worry about things like breast-size among other things.

On a creative level, anime has taught me that just because something is cool superficially, that doesn't mean it is good. If something was designed from the ground up to be "hype" and "cool", it usually has significantly less impact than something that was hype because the story lead up to it.

Ironically, it also taught me that you actually can design something for the express purpose of it being cool and make it work out quite well.
