I actually prefer ugly art styles. Makes the show stand out more and shows that the artist only cares about the story and the characters themselves rather then trying to please a wide audience.

They don't actually. Their eye shapes, colors are all different. Which actually made a difference. That's why Mami and Kyoko looked sexy, Madoka and Homu looked moe. But Sayaka looked like a Looney Toons goofball
