Only worth watching for the godlike art. Dialogue and "story" got tiresome after a few episodes.

I stopped watching it after that episode where he duels that woman. It was around episode 4 or 5, not sure.

I mean it wasn't bad but I agree with the anon that said it felt like a real chore watching it, which i feel should never happen if you're trying to watch something for entertainment.

It's definitely not the type of show you can binge watch, which is what I tried to do. I'll probably never finish watching it, but who knows maybe I'll get bored some day.

Final episode Shichika is one of the most satisfying characters to watch that I've ever found. I've never seen someone turn up to 11 like he did. A true hallmark of a main character.

It really isn't anything special. It has a distinct visual style that looks good, and it has some decent action scenes. Everything else ranges from mediocre to bad.

Most of its praise around here seems to come from people who confuse characters who use twice as many words with characters who have twice as much to say.

i thought it was good. Great fight animation minus one episode or so.

It's long for sure and there is a ton of talking but I thought it was bretty good.

In the end a new Shogun immediately came into power making her long ass plan worthless. Everyone in that show, besides the Kendo girl I guess, failed.

It basically just highlights how much better Shaft handled Nisio's WORDSWORDS. In Katanagatari when characters are talking it's just a wide shot of them sitting in a room and talking. In Monogatari series when characters are talking there's a look into a theory of relativity, or Coke commercial, or soft porn playing on the screen.

So yeah. Alright story, terrible adaptation.

I only watched the first two episodes, so far the premise is pretty generic (A cute girl meets a wild boy and they go on a quest to collect mythological macguffins! This is totally breaking new ground here), most of the dialogue was redundant exposition, the main characters are bland as fuck (the show even points this out several times), and it suffers from the same "fight for 5 seconds then talk about fighting for 5 minutes" bullshit you see in most shounenshit anime. It felt like I was watching the anime equivalent of the Phantom Menace. When does the show start picking up?
