It all began with Gravitation's OVA for me. Then I started to learn Japanese and bought the original manga, that stupid. But what made really lose my shit was Ai no Kusabi.

Soubi is Seimei fighter but Ritsuka still doesn't have one. The theory's that the burned body that originally was thought to be Seimei is Ritsuka real fighter. In the newest chapters Seimei took Soubi back and Ritsuka is worried as fuck because can't cope being away from him, Soubi is in a bad shape as well but Seimei has too much influence on him and he can't come back to Ritsuka. IMO their relationship is canon but Soubi is a kid trapped in an adult's body because he never had a childhood and never been loved before and he says he won't do anything sexual to Ritsuka while he is a kid.

I watched Yami no Matsuei in 2006. Never thought it was gay back then.
Plot was kinda okay (not worse than Sailor Moon at least) and I loved the concept of postmortem civil service.

Googled to make sure the year it was made and holly shit Sensitive Pornograph is from 2004. I remember watching it without subs right after rips were available. I'm getting old.

My first was gag shounen-ai from a website called Temple of Trunks. It was Trunks x Goku and I didn't know what doujinshi was at the time and thought it was canon manga. Tried to tell all my friends that Goku and trunks were gay. Shameful times. I thought it was cute and wanted more. Later came ff7 doujinshi, scattered one shots and finally Gravitation.

I remember being into anime as a kid, and to help us learn how to read when I entered primary school my mom often made me read manga in the public library. I was reading CCS as it was published in my country and I already thought Sakura's brother and his friend weren't just friends, but I had no idea being gay was a thing so there's that. I also read Clamp Detective's School where it was more blatant, even for a 6 yo child. I think the actual first BL I've seen was Gravitation on TV in high school, but I don't remember it well because the episodes weren't aired in the right order iirc. I'm still into shipping dudes and occasionally reading BL and fujobait.

Once upon a time, Koisuru Boukun was really popular. I learned about some genre women liked so decided to see what it was. It literally starts with rape but the rapist guy is later made into a love martyr. Idk what I feel about it. I liked the seme actually and the uke was a bit annoying but funny.

Now I look back and see how horrible it was actually. What a waste of time.

Then classic things like Sensitive Pornograph and I will never forget Aki-chan in that manga. I felt so bad for him.

Then of course Junjou Romantica. I liked Egoist pair but the rest is shit.

And then Viewfinder which is both drawn horribly bad and the plot is so ridiculous but I still fap to some scenes in it. (Namely that one threesome in an onsen with that Chinese dude.)
