Because they didn't deviate from the manga and skip the shit chapters. Like everything involving the glasses girl. Also the fanbase is tiny judging from the small amount of fanart.

-Anime artstyle didn't live up to the manga's artstyle. It just did not go the full length to adapt the faces. They were part of the gags and comedy, so not going for a closer visual adaptation really stunted it.
-Color palette for the anime was kind of shitty. Like they're using the leftover paint from the Futabu hentai episodes.

I think the voices and the characterization were pretty spot on, however.

The early manga is easily the worst part, and you can't start an adaptation for something no one has read 60 chapters in.

It is amazing how the anime actively killed interest in the manga, though. Has that ever happened before?
