Not really. It's pretty well-known, actually, and most people can agree that it was mindless fun, at the very least.

It's dumb shounen fighting but at least more stylish than DBZ, which is the king of dumb shounen fighting anime. Asking Scryed to be smart is like asking Akira Toriyama to be subtle.

The manga was atrocious though.
