Jesus was misunderstood as well.

Nothing. His goal is to save anime when needed, even at the cost of being ridiculed.
Can't wait for more info on his new project.
>>
>>152076807
The industry wasn't ready yet.
>>
He talked like Miyazaki with the exception that Miyazaki is one of the forefathers of anime and Yamakan's biggest accomplishment at the time was animating the Haruhi dance.
>>
Saving anime went wrong.

He didn't direct Keit-ai.

WUG might have gone a little bit wrong, but he'll be back soon with an amazing project. Just wait.

>Miyazaki is one of the forefathers of anime
I know Miyazaki has been around for a long while but what did he inspire or influence? His works have always felt like they've been in their own bubble.
>>
Fractale

Without Miyazaki there's no Anno
>>
>>152078219
Miyazaki literally invented moe by accident

Pretty much every animator grew up with his stuff, sure he may not be as influential to the industry itself as Tezuka, but he sure inspired a lot op people to become animators.
>>
>>152078219
miyazaki seems to be in his own bubble because there are so few companies dedicated to feature length films like ghibli was and so much seasonal anime is meant to just drive manga and merchandise sales. but works like miyazaki's that display such a high level of direction, animation, and human understanding will always inspire and influence other creators on some level.

it's the same way in other creative industries. nobody directly quotes beethoven's music in their own music but most composers would tell you that the level of artistry in beethoven is inspirational.

he's still fairly directly influential though. the conflict between man and nature, children turning to magic or imagination to deal with new circumstances and pressures, inclusion and commentary of japanese folklore and history, the conflict and transition between modern japan and historical japan, etc. he's dealt with all of these intelligently and they all are very prevalent in anime today.

just always take anything posted about miyazaki on /a/ with a grain of salt. people love to shitpost about him. and treat own opinions with skepticism as well. peace.

His primary influence is Clarisse and Nausicaa inspiring generations of lolicons
>>
People just don't know the backstage story of how he saved anime. Truly a hero among man. One that does something just because it is the right thing to do, not because people will know about it.
>>
>>152077948
How wrong did it go?
>>
>>152078347
Miyazaki was a mistake.
>>

Okada
>>
>>152081784
Okada didn't make Fractale shit. Azuma did.
Okada is still terrible.
>>
>>152076807
Being a shit director and not learning from his failure the first time he got fired.
>>
>>152081906
But his debut (Lucky Star) was good
>>
>>152083857
It only was good after he was fired.
>>
>>152083944
Just a meme. There's no quality difference between Yamakan and Takemoto's episodes
>>
>>152081685
Nah. All the industry producers are.
>>
>>152076807
Who the fuck even is this? All you people look the fucking same, this could be Jet Li for all I know.
>>
He opened his mouth.

Honestly, he's a pretty good director and he would be much more successful if he wasn't so openly obnoxious.
>>
>>152076807
He talked shit about other more successful directors when he had yet to do anything. Then he did nothing successful.

It's fine to talk shit, but only if you can back it up.
>>
>>152078219
He invented the bipedal dinosaur mount, which is now seen in many different fantasy works across many different mediums
