When I was in my mid-teens I was depressed enough that at some points I felt like I couldn't physically pick myself up off the floor. But I don't know if I can say I've been hugely depressed since.
I've been dealing with a cocktail of stubborn mental and physical health issues for the last 5 years though. I have the fear of death in me more often than is by any means healthy. Yet I've never at any point, even at my worst, thought that killing myself would be in any way preferable to any of the suffering.
