Maybe there is more importance to the finals in other arcs, but IMO, the non-importance of the finals makes the whole classical literature studying session with Hikari inconsequential, while there could've been more done with character interactions during the study sessions and whatnot.

The time constraint and goal of getting a girl before Christmas worked really well with Amagami, and it was a pretty essential part of making omnibus work. But with Seiren, I have yet to see an overarching goal for the protagonist? Is he supposed to change into a new person before he gets in school next semester or know what he is going to do after graduating?

That's really the main thing worrying me. I'm not really expecting Amagami S3 from this but I feel like it is offputting that the producers and writers are deciding to do this. But then again, there is no game for Seiren so...
