Another problem with Gendumb is it takes itself too seriously but that's also why the autists love it. So they can talk about it as if it was real events, like they do with MuvLuv, another autist magnet.

Its about fun and sometimes tragic adventures in a space ship, pretty simple but can be enjoyable like how G Reco is about a trip from earth to Jupiter and back.

I liked it for the characters and character development. I also respect it for what it did at the time.
Meanwhile I expect more from the later sequels we got. But they mostly just rehash ideas and make it worse.

Do note, I am not a huge Macross fan here and I wouldn't even put SDF/DYRL on my top 50 list.

Macross 7 was the most fun.
SDF was the most solid.
Frontier tried to ride 7 but was trash.

I recently watched one, Gundam 00 I believe. Got to like 6-7 episode because I couldn't go on.


Its too dry and too much action, the pacing is shit. There needs to be proper build up of escalation/peaks and drops that should slow down. Seems like whoever makes Gundam have no idea how to do proper flow.
