This show really needs a remaster. The TV series DVDs look pretty horrible.
At least the OVAs look mostly good.

It's to be expected that an OVA would have much better animation as it would have had a much larger per-episode budget.
I was more referring to the digital transfer of the video files. The OVA looks like it got a remastering on DVD, but the TV series looks like it was scanned from a degraded VHS tape.

Just watched this show last year. It is one of those shows that is actually funnier to watch now because the jokes are far more relevant in the current day.

Am I the only one who thinks this show would be perfect for American TV? There's endless police/medical/detective procedurals on prime time every fucking night, but none of them have a quarter of the charm this show does.

But of course we know America could never replicate what makes YUA good. A combination of looking down on animation but also the lack of being able to have such extreme characters. You couldn't have someone like Aoi or Natsumi because some fucking rights group would complain its sexist and start a huge media campaign to kill the show.

Got burnt out off the show somewhere between episode 15 & 20. It's cozy & everything but nothing happens most of the time and the episodes just kinda merge together until you lose concentration. The OVA was really good though.
