Also Mikleo gave a whole speech about how Sorey needed a human companion who could understand him. Actually this is where the anime fucked up, but you can still figure it out if you pay attention. Alisha's "political power" was small at best. In fact in the game I think that Barlow actually had more power than her, the council certainly did. Alisha also has very little influence over the nobles who don't listen to her at all because she has her head in the clouds. If she had more political power then the soldiers wouldn't be listening to Bartlow over her.

In other words Alisha actually doesn't have much power and the people didn't listen to her because of pic related. It wouldn't make sense for Rose to even bother with her.

The knights make Hyland feel more like it's an actual country. I think the anime in general feels a lot more grounded in its world while it just seems like a generic fantasy backdrop in the game.

It would have been better world building for Sorey to speak to the villagers more and get involved with them than just the soldiers.

The issue with Alisha was just one of many issues people had complaints about but it wasn't really the main issue. People were more disappointed in the combat system and how bare-bones the game seems. Along, with Zestiria being hyped as the culmination of the Tales series being nothing more then a mediocre game. The dlc fiasco with Alisha and Baba backtracking was really what made the game get a lot of hate which was already building up by people who were playing the game and spotting out it's flaws.

The problem with Zesitira is that it has intersting ideas, but those ideas are never given any time to breath. By the time that Sorey is introduced to the world he gets bogged down by Lailah and her rules. The real problem with this is that her rules are all wrong, but it would be okay if not for the fact that Sorey is never allowed to go off the beaten path or be proven right, even though he actually is. And even worse Lailah is never called out on it, and so can't grow and that makes it so that Sorey can't grow, because he can't search for the answer himself, Sorey's entire character build is one that allows for much world and character exploration but the game was too busy being distracted by the waifufagging producer to actually explore that.

Case in point, Berseria actually doesn't do anything new. Every single it "introduced" was already in the came from the Zestira guide book.

The Alisha is that she really is boring, but also was irrevelant and from the story. Thing is though Alishafags wanted her to have more screentime despite her irrevelancy. Mostly speculation. Was an orphan picked up on the battlefield, uses Rangetsu combat style with the same mystic arte as Rokurou and her personality is almost exactly the same as Rokurou's. Eleanor gets tease shipped with Rokurou at the end of Berseria and looks a lot like Rose. Apparently the Berseria illustration books talks about "relation to Zestiria character" in Rokurou's blurb though I can't read japanese so I can't confirm.

It's not actually, Rose was created much lot later on. We know from the VA interviews that she was created after they did their first recording, then they were called back to include her.

There is no indication that it was ever planed for Alisha to have armatius, so that means that it probably was originally meant to be a Sorey only ability. But with no other person who could armatus it means that there probably wasn't any arbritary head count or need for two humans. However including a second armatus means that they would have to alter how the first one was handled in gameplay to create a need for both characters to use armatus. In other words Armatus and anything related to it would have been handled differently.

Now the QC is usually when developers realize that shit doesn't work or isn't very fun. However the game never had any time in QC because it was taken off of it to add in new character, and because this is a character that HAS to be in your party they had to make sure they played well. So they likely waited until Rose was finished to give to QC. But then by the time that QC got it there wouldn't be any time to make the necessary changes.

For one, nip fujos don't make fujohatebases like western fanbase does. Edna and Alisha are liked alot even amongst fujos. They had complaints about it, but it subsided because they only care about their OTP in the end of the day.

In fact, fujos probably were the reason the BDS got to 3k in the first place. They wanted it for the fujopandering that wasn't present in show.

Actually a lot of fujos didn't buy the anime blu-rays, that's why the sales are so low, because they decided to stick with the manga. Zestiriafujo really don't like baseless pandering. Again, don't speak for the majority. Alot of fujos still bought it anyway. The BDS advertised a ski t where Mikleo was counting sheeps for Sorey, where Sorey says 'Mikleo's icecream is the best thing in the world'. It wasn't as if Ufotable stopped pandering to fujos entirely - quite the opposite given all the merch is Sorey/Mikleo centric. It's more like some fujos stuck around while others didn't deem it worthwhile.

This 'negative fujo backlash' is honestly made up because nip fujos hardly get 'pissed' about anything. They live in their own little fujo world.

I'm speaking after having look at twitter and their reaction to the ending, that bit of pandering wasn't enough to convince them to spend hundreds of dollars on a Blu-Ray set. The anime itself wasn't catering to them. The only people that I saw were willing to purchase it were /u/fags. Actual fujoshit cared more about the manga, than about the anime adaption that didn't even cater to them.

But that's exactly what I was saying, fujos only said once that they were disappointed in the Zestiria the X and cited Alisha as why. After that the manga was ending and publicized it's ending and fujos started tweeting and retweeting about then. But then after a while I realized that none of the fujo were tweeting about the Blu-Ray. That's why I knew months ahead that there was going to be a backlash against the anime.

Contrary to popular belief, Zestiria isn't that homo because even Sorey/Mikleo's relationship takes a backseat after a certain point in the game. Their most significant scenes are the breakup arc, the balcony scene and the opening/ending parallel.

Ufotable literally already removed the parallel, the breakup arc and I can only imagine what they'll do with the last two in first cour.

Basically it says that Rokurou's initial design was to be based on hanafuda and so his outfit would have been dominated by red, black and white, but the designer changed their mind after someone told them they'd already seen a character with those colors as their main color scheme.

There's a not so interesting bit about his silhouette (they say they don't really pay attention to it when designing characters).

Regarding the links to Zestiria, the interviewee basically says they should have taken Zestiria's atmosphere into account, but that instead they didn't really bother with thinking of how Rokurou could be linked to Zestiria, and so they created his design from scratch. You can see they didn't really bother trying to link him to Zestiria too since he's got that Japanese feel to his design.

The rest of the interview is about the fine details of his design and what's important in it and why he was designed like that.

I think that one guy was right, red black and white would have been too unoriginal and, well, I didn't play Berseria yet — only watched the intro part until they escape and had the honor of witnessing Rokurou's masterful sailing :^) — but I do think red/black and white would have been a bit too stern and that his current color scheme fits him more.
But that's just my opinion.

He looks like a fun character and I can't wait to see how he controls in battle.

I completed Xillia 2 by using Gaius whenever he was available, and I had a blast. Of course, I'm not expecting Rokurou to play like him at all.
