Okay I am still trying to get into PreCure. Heartcatch and Suite was really fun and exceeded my expectations. I went into Smile hoping for the best because it seems to be the most popular. It ended up like what I thought a typical PreCure would be. Small character development for characters as a whole, no memorable villains and fight scenes were standard. I'm watching DokiDoki now and enjoying it much more despite the fight scenes being meh. Am I missing something about Smile?

Smile was a victim of the post-2011 earthquake era when any kind of drama was a big no-no in kid's shows and everything had to be super happy and dumb so as not to depress anyone.

Maybe your expectations are too high about it? Know that at the time it was airing, and for long after, it was trashtalked as hard as possible.
What Smile really had for it is the mid-season finale, some of the character-focused episodes, but more importantly being the best looking Precure series with the prettiest girls to date.
And the SoL was funny more often than most.

I found trio the minor really memorable because of their campiness. I guess only really cobraja and dark precure were really memorable to me from Heartcatch but I still liked them more than smile's.

Also, thinking more about it, I liked akanbes the least out of the monsters so far and the setting of smile was also the weakest to me, especially against Suite's music city

The fight or the remaining minutes after that?
The former was just anti-climatic as hell for me, but the latter was so heart-warming to me it still makes me smile when I think about it.
When Miyuki stopped at the corner where she did in the first episode, I nearly lost it and teared up.

The best part of Smile's ending was when Miyuki and Yayoi made out till everyone got disgusted and left and the credits started rolling.

Hello /pc/ I'm absolutely new to PreCure but I think I need it in my life. After so many "I'll watch it" in the last year, I ended up watching Saint Seiya Omega instead and it was fantastic. When I found out that the direction was related to PreCure I decided that was the last impulse I needed.

Now I'm download Futari wa Pretty Cure because I think that catching the series in chronological order is cool, blame my autism.

Is there something I should acknowledge, or expect? I really enjoy my magical girl shows, my first waifu was Sakura CardCaptors.

If you happen to have a guide for the movies that would be appreciated too.
