More of a case of apples and oranges. Re:Zero explores the dark aspects of the respawn mechanic used in videogames and has a wonderful plot of a shonen hero stuck in a seinen world.

Konosuba is a parody of people stuck on a fantasy world and deals with the despair through dark comedy which gives a bittersweet saccharine feel.

I'll say the two series compliment each other very well.

You don't have to jump ahead, it's easy to pick off right where the show ended (and further enrich your expirience - read some scenes which were cut off the animated version). There's 3 main mediums basically retelling one story: WN (the one the author writes since 2012 and our glorious anon-sama summarizes\translates from), Light novel and manga. Manga mostly covers already happened stuff, but there are a few crucial shown scenes in there. LN is slightly adapted version of WN.

You can just google "translation chicken" and you'd get the first batch of fully translated chapters right after the anime.

Do not worry, there are plenty of people who enjoy both of these shows as well. I am a huge fan of fantasy lore and mechanics and boy does Konosuba has those. When later Re:Zero came out friend told me >it was like Konosuba but darker and more tragedy than comedy — and guess what - Elsa's gutting scene got me hooked.
