Reccoa spent most of her life going back to the OYW as a rebel and soldier who increasingly just wanted to be treated as a normal woman. Didn't happen though because the guy she loved was Char the Autist and increasingly her sense of self as a person is eroded until she defects. At that point, she no longer thinks of herself as a person, simply as a tool to be used by the men around her for their own desires and ambitions and doesn't see herself as in control of her actions. The colony gassing, she spends the entire lead up to it practically begging for the AEUG to come and stop her since again she's not a person and thus can no longer make her own decisions. Out of all the broken, wrecked people in Zeta she's arguably the worst of all and that makes her one of the more tragic characters. She's what happens when a smile is not protected.

The ein fight was pretty cool barring the final hit being abrupt. You got to see the barbatos and mika get pretty fucked up and it was a really nice foreshadowing for mikazuki slow decent into ending up like ein in S2.

I know I'm in the minority with this but I actually liked Katz's death. He was consistently putting everyone else in danger for his own selfish reasons, and in the end he died in a completely pointless way that achieved nothing. It felt fitting to me that he would have a pointless death.

Honestly it feels like almost everyone was being retarded during the finale of zeta.
With kamille opening the visor of his helmet in the vacuum of space and henken using the radish to protect emma who then proceeds to die anyway after the radish sunk to protect her.

I definitely understand why most people don't like the way he died. I personally find it fitting that the way he died was not some final stand or something like that. He died because he did something risky and he didn't have the skills to back it up. Part of the reason I like Kamille so much as a protagonist is that he realizes how serious everything truly is. He starts the series out as a really reckless kid but by the end he is one of the most mature people on the Argama. Though that isn't really saying much.
