To be fair, I don't think Monogatari would work as an anime without these sort of techniques

At least they're taking advantage of the fact that they're animated. What's the point of making anime if you don't try anything fancy? Might as well just be live action at that point.

The cutting and written text is cheesy and annoying.

But some of their CGI backgrounds are dope.
