How was ERASED worse than Re:zero? It had better animation, better characters, better soundtrack, one of the best OP's of 2016, maybe best, interesting story and mystery.

Reddit zero was all hype, zero substance. Another isekai harem bullshit with the most generic anime archetypes, and an edgy twist to main character to make the series look less banal. The story moved at snail's pace. 25 episodes for them to kill a flying whale and a bunch of cultists.

When you put all the hype aside, re:zero was hardly more interesting than any other popular isekai anime of recent years. 5 years later, nobody but normalfags will recommend to it anyone.

I can see whee you're coming, since Tachikawa, Kameda and co. were definitely flexing their muscle with Mob (BONES prez did say they wanted to show OPM up after all).
I still feel the appreciation for the source material managed to shine through (how the OP was made, what they did with Reigen etc.) and the author's message was properly conveyed. Plus it helped that the manga's already trippy and weird nature landed itself perfectly to that kind of artistically wild adaptation.

We need more adaptations like this I think, the type that will go above and beyond to do their source material justice.
