Both LWA movies were less original than Gurren Lagann, and the TV series will be the same because it's the same staff. This whole argument makes no sense

But luluco did have a slump when they started visiting other planets, Kill la kill felt like they realized they needed to fill out the last 1/4 because it didn't have enough material

The one about the kids with super powers was alright it was magic slice of life and it never fell apart it just lacked a central conflict to really give it structure.

Same with Kiznaiver, it was good but lacked a really good central conflict.

The only one that I'd consider a train wreck would be Kill la Kill and even that managed to hop along the tracks enough to at least end on a good note and not be a total disaster.

If anything Trigger's been missing out on a solid writer. They have an animator first storyboard/story design philosophy and while it makes beautiful scenes it doesn't make memorable anime.

I don't hate Imaishi's work. And I like Imaishi himself.

I'm just glad trigger isn't just the Imaishi show since his style is so unique it sometimes handcuffs some of the newer animators. And sometimes to get back your creative drive you have to spend of a bit of time in the back seat.

It was actually kind of funny that Imaishi's little project in luluco ended up outshining Kiznaiver that season.

The arc between episodes 16 and 18 remain the highest point of the series.
But they were followed by the worst animated, most rushed 2 episodes, 19 and 20.
After those the series recovered, the last fight and make up between Ryuko and Satsuki were good and so was the final arc.

Sure, they can occasionally go into town, and presumably we will be introduced to the existence of an all-boys' wizard school, but opportunities for interactions are slim. In that case I can see 12 episodes to estbalish the world, especially if they're going through the original OVA and Enchanted Parade plots again and the second half likely being just a small bit darker. Because, somebody with Akko's will definitely needs to be tested, Imashi might not be storyboarding this anime but it's still Trigger, Ryuuko and Luluco suffered, got badass and got hopeful yet bittersweet endings about growing up, In order to "grow up" Akko will either have to come down from the hero worship of Shiny Chariot or starve to become even grander than Shiny Chariot not to be just a side show but to show the world that magic can be used for far more than just mundane utilities and combat. Probably even some moral message about her getting true magic instead of getting her magic from that stone, isn't that why she was able to use the Shiny Rod in the first place?

This absolutely has to happen to make Akko's bullheadedness appealing. Nothing is more interesting then having the protagonist undergo a massive failure, make an ass of themselves, suffer the consequences and start to climb back up. It might even turn people who are annoyed at her attitude to hating her slightly less.
