Why isn't there more Kemono anime (Monster Girls don't count)?

Serious responses only.
>>
>>151783115
Because it's furry.

Also because you can accomplish a cat person using a cat's ears and tails (+ nose / eyes ) on a normal person than drawing a person who is covered in fur and is anthromorphic animal.
>>
>>151783115
Fur all over the body is where I draw the line.
>>
>>151783152
So what you're saying is that it's more expensive to animate? I don't see how it could be much more expensive than the average monster girl. And considering how much disposable income most furries somehow seem to have, I imagine it could still be a worthwhile investment if it was handled properly (by having tons of waifubait).
>>
>>151783350
>And considering how much disposable income most furries somehow seem to have,
You'd have to catch the eye of western furries first.
>>
>>151783115
There is going to be Zero kara hajimeru mahou no sho anime with anthros this year.
I love this series.
>>
>>151783350
I wasn't saying it's expensive to animate. I was saying there is no real point in doing it.

If you want a cat person. Why waste the time making an anthropomorphic cat when you could throw cat ears + tail on a person and call it a day?
>>
>>151783570
But it is lame.
I like them to have fur

>>
>>151783954
People fuss too much about which step of the staircase arouses them. I have a far simpler yardstick. "Does it look like a fucking mascot costume?" That's it. As long as 3-5 have reasonable intelligence(defined here as being at least equivalent to a high-schooler), and are capable of communication, whether verbally or scratching text into a surface, they're fair game. If you think 4-5 is bad, ponder the following scenarios
>my childhood friend has passed away but she still lives because her parents uploaded her brain into a stray bitch we used to feed together
>I accidentally destroyed a minor fox goddess' roadside shrine and now I must take responsibility but I didn't know rebuilding her shrine is a marriage proposal so I really have to take responsibility

Both of which would make excellent light novels.

This one.
>>
>>151783115
Anime is a high cost product and the furry market isn't big enough to reliably supply enough return on the investment.
A better question is why aren't there more kemono or even kemono supporting characters in manga, a much more low boundary of entry market.
They're mostly relegated to doujins or very very minor roles in the story with some exceptions like mascot characters.
>>
>>151783115
>Why isn't there more Kemono anime (Monster Girls don't count)?
Simply put, Monster Girls and Kemonomimi are more popular and Kemono doesn't have much demand.
>>
>>151783115
Yiff in hell, furfag
>>
>>151785133
>the furry market isn't big enough to reliably supply enough return on the investment.
If you made a furry anime funded by Kikestarter you'd meet all the stretch goals in a yiffy.

>>

I doubt it. Furries do have money but they don't have anime budget money.
Also anime kickstarters dont have a venerable history.

>>151785133
There are quite a few manga with kemono characters, I mean even popular shounen series like One Piece and HxH have a few. And a work with kemono characters doesn't necessarily have to be aimed at furries. A fantasy series in a world where kemono are given a prominent role in society would probably do well if the story was good and it had cute human girls too.
>>
>>151786473
I'm not saying there aren't any, it's just there's a strangely low amount of them, especially in settings where it makes sense.
I've watched or read many isekai, probably around 20 or more by now but only one I know of has done anything with anthro, Overlord. there's like 2 or 3 more that had anthros in the world but hasn't really done anything with them other than background fluff or walk in roles
It just seems strange to me that a genre with a significant amateur art scene has so little effect on the pro and semi pro industry
>>
>>151786473
>kemono characters doesn't necessarily have to be aimed at furries
Tell a furry HxH gets good 100 eps in and when you see him again, he'll rave about 140 eps in.
>>
>>151786950
Yeah, I doubt that, Cheadle's design is bland as fuck.

Because there's next to no source material for it.
>>
>>151787259

>>
>>151787385
Birds can go fuck themselves.

But if it has a muzzle/snout it's ok as long as it's bipedal, has human intelligence, a curved abdomen, digitigrade claws (not human digits), and canine (or feline) haunches then I'd fuck it. Multiple breasts are optional.

Otherwise it's just a human girl wearing an animal costume, typical furry faggotry, or bestiality.

>>151792369
There really needs to be a distinction between the "furry fandom" as seen by the public and the leople that just like the novelty/exotic nature of anthropomorphic animal characters.

The actual "furry fandom" is really convoluted and disjointed anyways, and there's plenty of furry "subcultures". Don't get me wrong though, there's still plenty of cancer and weirdos. It's just a bit overblown because obviously the most cancerous things will get the most publicity.
>>
>>151792713

>>
>>151792968
>/a/ is safe because anime triggers most furries
Best girl of Re:Zero, the most popular anime of the year is a catgirl (male).

This season will give us Kemono Friends.
>>
>>151792968
Many "furries" are just social rejects who latch on to the fandom because it gives them an identity. Which is why they have no reason to stray out of their communities. Almost reminds you of certain hobbies and their 4chan boards, huh?

I guess I'm an oddity because I'm a pretty big weeb but I have an appreciation for the better anthro/furry stuff. I grew up reading Redwall so I always found animal people a really interesting concept. While I don't partake in the fandom or its disgusting fetishes, I do like kemono and some western artists like Guoh who do interesting things (to my dick). I also have a deep fondness and love of animals, but I would never fuck one because it's an abusive and degenerate act. I could liken the fascination with anthro to the mindset of a lolicon. Lolis rarely behave like real little girls and often have exaggerated proportions. Anthros are in the shape of humans and behave like humans.
>>
>>151793274
Those are Kemomimis. Furries hate those because they didn't go all the way

>>151793285

>>
>>151793384
>Furries hate those
Sure, that's why everyone in the fandom watched rezero and all art of Feris got reposted on their art sites.
>>
>>151793384
I didn't say they were friends. Just saying it is pretty undeniably a similar situation. Furries tend to take it way further than weebs and make it a lifestyle, though.

also pls let this thread live if you see this and want to delete it, mods

at least delete a straight up shitposting thread instead, I'm honestly trying to encourage serious discussion
>>

Furries liked Rezero? I thought it was more trapfags that made Ferris popular. Most furries don't care too much about kemonomimi.

Because typically animal characters are seen as something almost exclusively for kids. Ignoring the occasional japanese folklore this attitude has been imported into the jap animation industry as well. Except for a smattering of works here and there there are very few that have been produced and intended for more general or mature audience.
>>
>>151794652
>the homosexual community has attached to the kemono fandom.
You mean in the west? I thought japs ignored that.
>>
>>151797330
Some do
Some don't.

It's more apparent in the west because western artists rely on rich faggots for commissions. The Japanese have a healthy doujinshi market so they're drawing what they want
>>
>>151797330
I think he's talking about bara. Which makes sense since bara is often associated with powerful animals like bears and lions.
