A better question is why aren't there more kemono or even kemono supporting characters in manga, a much more low boundary of entry market.

There are quite a few manga with kemono characters, I mean even popular shounen series like One Piece and HxH have a few. And a work with kemono characters doesn't necessarily have to be aimed at furries. A fantasy series in a world where kemono are given a prominent role in society would probably do well if the story was good and it had cute human girls too.

I've watched or read many isekai, probably around 20 or more by now but only one I know of has done anything with anthro, Overlord. there's like 2 or 3 more that had anthros in the world but hasn't really done anything with them other than background fluff or walk in roles

I guess I'm an oddity because I'm a pretty big weeb but I have an appreciation for the better anthro/furry stuff. I grew up reading Redwall so I always found animal people a really interesting concept. While I don't partake in the fandom or its disgusting fetishes, I do like kemono and some western artists like Guoh who do interesting things (to my dick). I also have a deep fondness and love of animals, but I would never fuck one because it's an abusive and degenerate act. I could liken the fascination with anthro to the mindset of a lolicon. Lolis rarely behave like real little girls and often have exaggerated proportions. Anthros are in the shape of humans and behave like humans.
