Blu-ray raws are out? I was actually going to go see this in theaters. Bought a ticket in advance and everything. They need to get their shit together with how long it takes to make it to the US.

Yep. Its a fairly self-contained story. You just wont have the character background from the rest of the series. But nothing that would make it unwatchable. You should watch Firm Gold Episode 0 first though.

You can watch any One Piece movie, except movie 8 which is utter shit, without any previous exposure to OP. The stories are generally self contained and well told for a shonen anime.
