Was it AOTY?
Comedy AOTY that's for sure
He's far too cool to be restricted to just one year. Anime of the decade for sure.

How do you feel about the last episode? Do we pretend it didn't happen?
>>151754785
It wasn't anything of the year. All the jokes fall flat in anime form. Sad!
>Gary Stu dies in the final episode
lol
>>151755268
What are you on about? It was a very good adaptation. OST was top tier as well.
>>151755260
It made me cry bitch tears.
>>151755374
Wait, are we talking about the same episode? I'm talking about the one that aired in like September where it was 8 minutes of meta 'jokes'.
>>151755337
Wait he died?
>>151755438
Oh, right. Yeah, that one was a bit let down and the fact that it wasn't the manga author who wrote really shows.
>>151755492
It's a very compelling theory that's mostly shunned here because it originated from MAL.
>>151755260
The American part was funny. The rest are just Takamatsu recycling his Gintama jokes.
>>151755033
But that's Saiki.
>ywn be cool

this

Agreed, Sakamoto comes close second thought and Mob Psycho following

>very compelling

>All the jokes fall flat in anime form.
Many such cases!
>>151755492
Some think that Sakamoto has some terminal disease, and that he hinted towards that with his last interaction with the blond guy. The manga also features an image of Sakamoto sleeping in a locker like a coffin. There's also how unrealistic going to America to work with NASA is.
It's pretty tenuous

As well as the fact that he said "if it were me, I would jump straight into that ocean". Notice the type 2 conditional.
>>151759124
>if it were me, I would jump straight into that ocean
Can I get some context on that line?
>>151759158
He said that to the guy who didn't want to graduate
>>151754785
Nah. It was a decently funny novelty but Saiki is by far the better comedy and there are plenty of more enjoyable series this year. I expected to really love the adaption but it wasn't memorable.
I get the impression people only talk about how great it is to go along with the running joke about how amazing Sakamoto is.
>>151759519
I'm still not following the line of reasoning
