1st prison break was solid gold.
2nd prison break was overall great.
Right now the series jumped the shark and it's pure shit. The only saving grace this arc has is based Assman adventures.

This was me but two days ago. It was shaping up to be my all time favorite manga until the Namek arc. Also the Kate and Mari yuriboros was one of the hottest things I've ever seen

Its amazing till after the boys got out, stays good till about the end of the Hana chapters of the school arc, and now its just tedious.

The school festival arc has been going on for so long, not only did we have like 15 chapters or something of Hana finally peeing on Kiyoshi, but then Hana had running in that big ass suit chapters for awhile.

Weirdly I thought it would have been much better if the assman chronicles was completely scrapped. Especially when that bear showed up and it all felt like useless filler.

But I think the underlying problem is that nobody really cares about who wins the battle. What's really intresting is what happens afterwards. The fallout will affect all the characters we like, especially if Mari wins. But Hiramoto seems to really miss on that and keeps putting it of. I'm guessing that's why the whining about the pacing only really started with the cavalry battle despite it being slower for much longer than that.

I get what you mean. After I finished the anime I started the manga from chapter 1. I ended up regretting it because in the 90 or so chapters that make up the anime and OVA had nothing extra worth reading it all for. The pacing is so awful in the manga yet the anime managed to clear over a third of it with 12 eps and an OVA

I've never felt like following the festival weekly has been a drag (and I've been reading it since before the usc was imprisoned).

I mean, I still find each individual chapter pretty funny. I think it's because most people try to get hyped about reaching the final climax of the arc, whereasI just look forward to each single chapter for its geniality, finding a miriad more little climaxes.

I enjoyed the art thoroughly. Its just the fact that there was little to no story lost between the manga and anime, so reading through those first 90 or so chapters felt like a chore. I did this all start to finish in the course of a day, so it was tiresome to reread what I had just watched.
