I have mixed feelings about DP. On one hand I feel like they are doing the best that they can and I respect them, and I feel like they are doing amazingly well with the resources and budget they have. I tip a million hats to them and respect them so much as a company.
But, on the other hand, we'll never have a high-quality Jojo anime if we stick with DP. There's always going to be QUALITY moments, we're gonna have small budgets, and overall it's just not gonna be done very well in comparison to if a larger company was doing it and, frankly, that's what a series like Jojo deserves. I'm amazed it doesn't have more priority for how popular it is.
Part of me hopes that DP hands off Jojo to a bigger company, even though I know that'll never happen.

Yes, but his character has been fully explored and trying to implementing him into more arcs would just feel forced. Jojo isn't like One Piece where everyone and everything has connections and can come back, but it allows for each part to feel independent enough from one another and keeps the characters in each part interesting instead of relying on callback characters. I would have liked to see Josuke and Gio as well but I'm fine with how it turned out, it felt like Part 1's ending. Its own story that wasn't dealt with with a cop-out ending. Seeing Jolyne sacrifice herself for Emporio after everyone had died was just as heroic mirroring Jonathan's sacrifice, and the beatdown Emporio gave Pucci at the end too was perfect.

That's what I like the most about this series, it never goes the way you expect it to. I thought Pucci was gonna get BTFO'd, but seeing just how terrifying he became with MiH was perfect. It takes balls to end a series the way Araki did it, and it was a damn good ending

What do you mean? Part 2 was a glorified slide-show, part 3 had a shit ton less passion put into it than part 2 did. Part 4 brought it all back. They could've gone with the generic shounenshit look like parts 1, 2 and 3 but instead they chose to give the part a huge identity. They made a new style for it, colors were used so much better, and all the liberties they've taken to improve where the source had faltered was fucking amazing.

How on earth can you think they've lost passion for the series when even on a limited budget they did justice to part 4? They put in extra effort to make the part come to life with stuff like Morioh Radio and all the additional scenes to help build the world of the town. And come on, you're telling me the part that had fucking Great Days UNITS ver. had less passion than parts 1-3?

I don't get it, how have they lost passion? Just because part 4 had some QUALITY doesn't mean they're bad. Look at any other shounen anime today, JoJo trumps them all with style, flair and obviously DP cares a lot about the series. Why else would they go through so much trouble to advertise part 4 with all the events they've made, with how much fun they had playing with the OPs and tailoring them to show what part 4's all about and etc? Great Days and the epilogue alone is a testament from DP for how much they care about JoJo. I'd rather have DP adapt the next two parts than any other studio, they understand what JoJo is and I don't think we appreciate that enough. Look at Berserk 2016, now THAT'S a shit adaptation.

Just because part 4 isn't as detailed as part 3 doesn't mean the visual direction isn't god-tier. The last 5 episodes alone have been the peak of the series in terms of visual direction for a lot of scenes.

I don't agree at all that 1, 2 and 3 are typical shounenshit in terms of look but part 4's stands out quite a bit for how nice the colouring is, how effect the colour swaps are and so forth. The scene alone where Kira and Josuke throwdown at the end of CDIU 2 and their colors change to that of the final DIU Volume's cover was fucking god-tier.

Everything in DiU is a downgrade from SC, starting with the visual direction--the bland CGI backgrounds and the weird coloring choices are a cheap attempt to imitate the manga's atmosphere, 2012 did it a lot better-, the bland, flat character designs that don't do justice to Araki's art, and then you have the off-models and sloppily animated moments. Definitely not my cup of tea.

How are they weird? If anything they're just as lively as part 2 and consistently at that as well. Part 2 mostly had the same drab coloring, same with part 3 which consistently was just dry and boring to look at, just like a desert. In part 4 everything's bright and the odd coloring choices mimic Araki's colors on the covers, if anything it's more faithful than SDC and BT's adaptations.
I'll give you off-model, the only thing DiU did worse than SDC was lack of detail and some QUALITY, but even then it says a hell of a lot when DiU's finale was 10x better than DIO's World.

Sad to hear, SDC had the worst visual direction, on par with PB in my eyes. Sure it's heavily detailed but it's just a chore to look at. Everything in DiU at least is bright and keeps your eyes focused whereas in SDC everything's just so dry and lacks the soul 2 and 4 has.

By going with the most default-looking colors they could possibly use? It's nicely drawn but it's nothing special at all. Part 4 at least consistently has everyone looking different and really brings out the flair that each character has. Though in turn, Araki is to thank for this too since part 4's characters were much more memorable than part 3's.

Jotaro literally looked like walking dirt, almost every character had the same olive or light brown color scheme. The only exceptions were the ones who had either Green, Yellow, or Red and thats maybe 6 characters out of the 46 in the part. DiU made sure certain characters had a different unique color to them. Easy example: Koichi, Josuke, and OKuyasu. Their standard school uniforms had different colors to contrast with them and others to show focus. Others who had school uniforms had standards of purple.

I feel like they could have done a better job but still, it's easier to give it a pass because it was DP's first try with the series.

I think part 4's been their best so far. Part 3 fell short because it had good visual direction that fell apart thanks to how boring the color choices were. Part 4 combines consistently the best parts of part 2 with more fluidity like part 3, albeit less as well since the budget restraints. They perfectly captured Morioh though and the essence of everything in the part in terms of the soul of DiU and how the colors reflect how interesting the characters are.
