Fucking Tokyo law
Can someone explain to me why they can't depict romantic relationships, even implied ones, between siblings in anime?
People expecting this to be the next Oreimo will be sorely disappointed.

Tokyo made a law years ago that states that incest can't be shown in art media (LN/Anime/Manga/etc) in a positive light without it being targeted to the 18+ demographic. Going against that law, means your shit is banned from being sold in Tokyo. And that's were a lot of the sales come from.
People like to blame the lack of incest series on that. It's mostly bullshit, though. In the 5 years or so that the law has been in place, only like 2 series have been banned.
EMS was made NBR because Fushimi probably hated what happened in oreimo with the fanbase and the limits placed on him. It had nothing to do with the Tokyo law.

So you can't show incest in a positive light unless it is porn or really violent? How else are you going to prove that your media is targeted at an 18+ audience?

>So you can't show incest in a positive light unless it is porn or really violent?
No, you can't show incest in positive light unless it has the 18+ restriction. That's really the only issue. It is a big issue though.
It's similar to how game publishers avoid the "Adult Only" ESRB rating in America. It does have to do with sales but it's more of an image/PR problem for publisher.
I'll also quote the wiki for a bit more clarity
>The Imouto Paradise! 2 manga was designated as an "unhealthy publication" by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, due to its "glorification of incestuous acts".[25] It was the first publication to be formally restricted as such by the government since Bill 256 revised the law in 2010.[25] Bookstores in Japan became prohibited from selling or renting the particular book to minors under the age of 18, and they are also not permitted to browse the book.[25] Bookstores have been legally obligated to separate and place the book in an adult section.[25] Amazon has removed the Imouto Paradise! 2 manga from its Kindle store, despite the fact that the book had ranked number one on Amazon's comic bestseller list for Kindle.[26] Publisher Kadokawa Shoten issued a "voluntary recall" for the Imouto Paradise! 2 manga, and it is uncertain whether the company will protest the government's decision and other matters.[27] A representative of Kadokawa has stated, "We have not received the official notice from Tokyo, so we wish to refrain from commenting. After we receive the notice, we want to consider the action we will take moving forward."[25] Previous works that the Youth Healthy Development Council has deliberated over include the Yosuga no Sora anime television series,[43] and the To Love-Ru Darkness manga.[44]
Note that YnS and TLR:D were absolutely ok.
Whenever I read eromanga-sensei I can't help but feel funny at how silly and cute the concept is. More like meromanga-sensei.
4 more months and she'll be your new goddess, /a/.

Who even finds this otaku pandering shit even vaguely interesting?
>NBR cop-out
>saving anything
NBR is fucking shit.
Why would anyone even bother with stuff like this?
Reminder: Kirino approves of NBR as long as it's stated clearly from the start.
