>When UQ Holder began
>Man, this new faggot sucks! bring back Negi!
>When Negi returns
>Fucking mary sue character, God dammit!
It's hilarious, it's like when Red outshines the new protagonist of each game or like hen Goku alays saves the day or like when Nanoha constantly cleans up Vivid's messes or like when Yugi constantly BTFO any and all new Yugioh protagonists.
Don't mess with the original character. It never ends well newshits
I wonder who they will get to do the anime.
Idk I didn't like his whole history altering thing with Eva anyway.
I never really cared about Negi x Eva and still don't but Touta x Eva just doesn't sit well with me, especially with that stunt by inserting himself into her past right before she met Nagi.
Also, this is cute. Bunch of kids.
Going to wait till it's finished serialization before I catch up, or I'll just get mad.
They are better in different areas. Negi is overall more serious and smarter, and his development and struggles induced by characters like Chao, Eva, Yue, Asuna, Nagi, Rakan, and Fate reflects that.
Touta is better for romantic development. He speaks his mind and is direct, although still suffers from some dense MC nature in regards to feelings directed at him.
It's clear that Negi wins the Evabowl. They'll probably end up having one of Touta's generation comforting him and slowly having romantic character development while he pines for Eva until the end of the series.
>Touta is better for romantic development. He speaks his mind and is direct,
Seems Fate needs Touta because Touta is the first and only successful sample of his immortalization technique being used on a regular person.
Let Negi have Eva. Touta already has a bunch of cute girls out of his dick already.
>Spin off flairs where eva is the heroine of a reverse harem of nagi's lineage
I'd probably read it.
It isn't NTR when you claim back what is yours, I dropped UQ because I didn't want to see eva with touta, but if she is coming back with negi I will consider reading it, if it is bait I will nuke japan...
Knowing Ken he will asspull some story about Negi being fused with Touta because of clones/alternative universes Clamp style like in Tsubasa, and that character will get both harems, then everyone will be angry and he will have to make a continuation of the story the next decade...
The whole "Touta loves Eva" felt WRONG. She's been his mother figure, for fuck's sake. It was like reading Usagi Drop once again for me. Ken really fucked up with that sick idea. Touta is surrounded by many girls, and yet Ken goes to ship him with the only one he shouldn't have. Not to mention that jealousy for Fate, of all people. It was seriously badly written. I hope he'll find a way to fix that shit, because it was and still is pretty dumb and fucked-up.
Just like the whole ending of Negima ever since the final battle (included) of MM saga.
Ken is a hack.
Fate is going to win the Negibowl, right, /a/? He's by far the most loyal to Negi. He deserves happiness.
Nah, the Dana training arc was the peak of UQH and rivaled the best of Negima - and a large part of it was Touta realising he was in love with Kitty/Eva.
The only reason UQH has gone to shit is because the harem antics took over for far too long and then rescuing Negi was rushed in when it should have been a longterm goal of the manga. We should have had a few breather chapters in the Inn followed by a quick tournie arc, the gang reaching Mars, and then the Negi plotline could transition in - this time with natural buildup, a proper search, and a less clusterfuck fight that gave time for the old cast to take part without exposition dumps or the complete exclusion of new characters besides Touta.
But as it is Ken has just fucking butchered the tone and plot to fix up the Negima shit as quickly as possible. I dunno about anyone else but I'm dropping it after this chapter.
>we will never get the moderately darker tone of early UQH back and all the new cast will remain squandered to facilitate further haremshit and sucking of Negima characters
God I really fucking hate Ken.
>The whole "Touta loves Eva" felt WRONG. She's been his mother figure, for fuck's sake.
Read the Dana arc
Touta was her oldest and first friend throughout all of time, who she then ended up raising due to coincidence. She did like him in the past but its unclear just how much she remembers.
Her feelings regarding the subject are quite complicated if anything, but they had a hell of a lot more chemistry than any other relationship in both manga after one arc.
If anything Eva liking Negi is the most forced thing ever.
>Negi never banged Eva or Nodoka
What a cuck.
Negi and Eva actually had development throughout Negima, though. Instead of building Eva and Touta's realtionship in UQ, he lazily did a time travel retcon to make Touta the ACTUAL one Eva loved this whole time. It was sloppily done and felt like a poorly done clone of Nagi's background. I'm not even a Negi/Eva shipper, but Touta and Eva's "relationship" was beyond forced.
Why are you arguing on behalf of Eva's feelings when anon said it's weird that TOUTA likes her?
Why is anyone replying with the Dana arc when Touta started liking her BEFORE it?
Anon is right, Touta having romantic feelings for Eva came out of left fucking field--so much so that when it first came up he denied Kurou's question of wanting to date her. And yeah, feeling jealous of Fate was retarded when Fate never did anything to imply he wanted Eva.
Do people really care about Touta getting Yukihime?
I mean, other than the fact that whatever there is between them was pretty much forced through time travel retcon, Yukihime is so different from Negima's Eva that she could easily be considered an entirely different character.
The things that made Eva amazing, and easily one of the most liked girls in Negima, was the strength of her character, her presence and her charisma. The fact that she was a super confident, over-powered, evil-ish vampire loli also added points to her greatness.
Yukihime is just... boring, even when she goes back to he original form, she has none, I mean mean NONE of the charm Eva had in Negima.
We could get a storyline saying Yukihime wasn't actually Eva this whole time, and to be honest, I would buy it. That's how different she is.
>We could get a storyline saying Yukihime wasn't actually Eva this whole time, and to be honest, I would buy it. That's how different she is.
Why is it so hard for retards like you to comprehend that it's been 80 fucking years? People change. Compare Eva to the various "Kitty"s Touta met, completely fucking different, too.
I'm not here to argue you have to like Yukihime, but stop being in such denial she's Eva just because of it.
>Why is it so hard for retards like you to comprehend that it's been 80 fucking years? People change. Compare Eva to the various "Kitty"s Touta met, completely fucking different, too.
That's irrelevant actually.
We knew Eva had changed over the years in Negima as well, but what little was shown about her past days didn't feel completely disconnected from the current Eva.
In Negima, Eva got to experience several things that she couldn't throughout most of her life, and she grew a lot as a person.
By UQH, what you get isn't just any change in her character, but her being reduced to a husk of the character she used to be.
The changes that got introduced for her in this story completely shat on her character, by pretty much removing all the aspects that made her likeable.
Is Negima 2.0 set in the same timeline as the negima 1.0 ending? That rushed ending made it out to be like Negi saved his father, 'beating'/sealing LM and asuna got to play with jumping time lines to make that SPECIFIC timeline very happy. Like this entire series is a 'the plan went wrong' like the 130 years asuna spent sealed, but still slightly different.
This shit has to come to focus eventually right? Eva's done some sliding, so has touta. How are we to care about characters if we just hop around timelines.
Did you miss the part where I said I'm not here to argue you have to find Yukihime likable?
It's irrelevant because you're debating on behalf of a completely different argument. I agree that Eva is not written as well as she was in Negima, but I still acknowledge she's Eva. Saying something like "lol she's so different Ken could say she's not the REAL Eva and I'd buy it!" is retarded.
UQ Holder takes place in the timeline where Asuna sleeps and wakes up 130 years later. The epilogue timeline of negima is set "after" when this Asuna travels back in time.
No, he's right in that it was Chisame back then. Of course, she's also long dead.
But then again, >>151726587
Now that this is becoming monthly I wouldn't mind to read volumefuls at once.
