Because the OVA is terrible, it doesn't explain the important thing about Fujimaru: he is such a shit magus that the security check into Chaldea scanning his magic circuits knocked him out. This is why he passes out in the briefing and gets kicked out, which is how he ends up going to his room and talking to Roman, which is how Roman ends up surviving the explosion because he skipped his job to go chat with Fujimaru.

It's integral to the plot that Fujimaru is a shit, because if he wasn't he would've just fucking died with everyone else. It's practically a gag.

Here is an excerpt from MAL

I first saw a notification popping on a frequent website I use to watch anime. And I thought to myself I'm bored anyways lets watch this. When I first saw the movie I thought, well here is another rip off of Fate/Stay Night (Fate/Zero). And I first started it and then it lead to the thought, omg this is probably a hentai. Then I realized as I progressed into watching the movie, I was like this is boring. And the concept of the story is outstanding, even though it probably did take some details and inspiration from other shows. Its sort of unique in a way its being played at.

Until the drama hit, where everyone had gone wrong. And when they were on their journey, I was being a basic fan girl and screaming to all the excitement. Quickly lead to the conclusion this show is going to be badass when they continue it. And this is definitely not a rip off to anything, its super badass in its own way. I recommend this series to anyone who likes fantasy and needs something to squeal to. But a few cons are that, in my opinion I think the plot was rushed in this movie. It did turn out quite smoothly considering how rushed it was, but you kind of had to be paying attention to know where the story is at. I also think the art style is not that unique and original, even though it is a great art style! Also to add in this series building a character seems to be a struggle, they don't really give you character details and just leaves you hanging. But since it is just the beginning of a series, I could give it an exception. Guess thats just what makes you wait for the next movie! (Or series)

The big problem with translating F/GO is that the entire first half of the story is fucking awful, but it's so long that the translators would need a ton of time to catch up to the main story.

So they'd probably start the game from the beginning to help that (this is what the Chinese version did), and thus the game is liable to flop because whatever crowd does get attracted is gonna be fucking bored. And then the translations will stop with it.
