Why does almost everyone on the internet find the last episode disappointing? If anything it was easily the best one of the last arc and a return to the psychedelic and inventive visuals I was longing for. It was a perfect rejection of tragedy and a great embracing of fantasy.

Splitting up the main characters for a moment was a bad choice. Its not given enough time to come off as terrifying, and it ends up robbing Cocona of a final moment with her mother.

I don't care for Yayaka, but one of the best moments of the show was her bit of self reflection before her henshin. I think Cocona should've gotten something similar.

Though Papika seems childlike, if we assume the Papikas Cocona met with in EP7 are different sides of Papika, then it would be fair to assume Papika already have some lewd ideas about what she wants to do with Cocona, considering Papina planned on doing "fun" things with her.

A nice picture can be appreciated in its entirety when you look at it. You can go back and look at it again and appreciate it all over again. You can post it, repost it, re-edit it, crop it, turn it into a meme with photoshop.

Good images are like the cultural currency of the internet. They're widely sharable, publicly enjoyable and always versatile.

Writing takes time, focus and commitment to even experience. At the end of reading a piece, you might find you didn't even get as much enjoyment out of it as you would have by just looking at a good picture. You can't really enjoy reading it over and over and over again like you can continue to enjoy a picture. You can't use it as a reaction to something, can't share it in the same way, can't edit it into a joke and so on.

I appreciate the enjoyment of sitting down and reading a good piece, but it just doesn't compare to visual art when it comes to all the things that really matter when sharing and interacting with a community of people on the internet. I'd much rather just occasional turn out a neat turn of phrase or a clever pun in bite-sized 4chan posts that can become a quick laugh or a lasting meme without all the cumbersome limitations of extended expository prose.

I can't remember a dead child after Another Bust, if she even was dead. The children in the research facilities never came back to the others after they were found out to be incompatible with Mimi, so that's not really a confirmation either. The only people I'm pretty sure I saw dying were the KKK that Mimi turned into flowers and Saltdad who got ripped apart by the PI portal. I think I would have liked the final arc better if the dream sequences had done a better job of setting things up.

They should have aimed to have a dream sequence every episode that could fit one, maybe 5 of them in total before episode 10 instead of the 3 we got.
They should have given up the "I am Mimi" reveal earlier and actually had Cocona interact with Mimi on the boat, albeit in an abstract and dreamlike way that doesn't give the viewer too clear of an impression of what's going on.

Just something like having Mimi look at Cocona, seeing recognition in her eyes and having her make some kind of unnerving motion towards her, reaching out to touch her face and then end scene, wake up. The images of that strange lookalike woman should have really been something that haunted Cocona throughout the show, so that her proper introduction into the narrative arc would have felt more like an extension of something that had been happening all along instead of just a sudden revelation of something that had been kind of bubbling under the surface.

I think the dream usually went like:

Except Cocona was forgetting the last part which is only shown in the last episode. The dream symbolizes Mimi passing baby Cocona to Papika in the flashback.

It also seems to suggest that Mimi was keeping Papika inside the cocktree on purpose. It probably also means that the de-aging was evil Mimi's intention.

Still, I think I would have liked to see them use the dream as an oppourtunity to give us more of Mimi's character. Introducing a villain holistically in the final act just leaves way too much ground to cover in too short a time. Even just giving us some displays of her obsessive feelings towards Cocona through the dreams would have laid some groundwork for her introduction as a villain.

I still remember the thread for episode 10 where people weren't sure how to take Cocona's possession since Mimi was a total question mark at that point. Was it a good thing or a bad thing? Would Mimi be the final boss or was this the big reunion and now everything would be okay? Would she help Cocona overcome the KKK or become the thing that needed to be overcome? The "oh shit" moment became less "oh shit" because it wasn't even clear that a bad or dangerous thing had just happened. It wasn't until 11's flashback that we really had all the information necessary to recognize that some mad PI demigod was going to trigger 3rd impact for the sake of her induced psychosis.
