Welcome to the Ballroom PV and staff list out
UNISON SQUARE GARDENさんとコラボレーション、
He's been animation director on shows like Dennou Coil, Paranoia Agent, Xam'd and the movie Miss Hokusai. He was also animation director on The Dream Machine and took over the director's role once Kon died.
In most cases I'd say the PV is very important but here the anime was announced 3 days ago and work on it only just started so it's not like you can expect much this soon. Also fuck this goddamn fireworks captcha.
Why even bother if 1 cour isn't enough to introduce best girl.
She will be in the last episode, probably the final 5 minutes. Tatara goes to high school, and has the classroom scene with her where he declares his hobby is dancing. End season 1
>did wouldn't be possible if it werent for fujos on ice
And you know what's going to be the worst part of this?
EVERYONE will start to ask if something happens between them just to realize the MC is a spinless beta cuck that can't even confess to her or make a move and focus on being the dancing gary stu too much to do something about it.
Plus you have the retarded dyke and glasses adding more salt to the wound. Aside the dancing stuff this shit as a story is pretty bad, at least not at the level of Fuuka.
S A S U G A
I reluctantly thank Faggots on Ice' success for making my not-gay ballroom dancing dreams come true
>all these retards thinking that the anime industry is this fast
Chances are this was in the works months before YoI was deemed a succes because it's meant to hype the hiatus end.
>old Ballroom e Yokoso anime thread
>CTRL + F "KyoAni"
What's up with this rotoscoping meme lately?
The occult nine threads were full of this kind of post too.
Just because some anime have good animation, it doesn't mean all of them are rotoscoped.
Fucking file size limits
I wish the author would make up his damn mind over which girl is main girl. Such tease.
Considering how shoujo manga/anime always has the manliest MCs, of course a ballroom dance manga would teach me how to be a real man.
Lots of gorgeous people in this manga. It's Ballroom Dancing after all.
This is one of those rare manga that manages to be both interesting and hot.
She won't stabilish a main girl till actual romance actually starts happening.
Seriously, everything so far has been admiration for one another, the closest thing would be Chinatsu wanting to be dominated whenever Tatara "activates his Zone" or whatever the fuck in the middle of a dance.
They are just starting dancing, changing partners is a given, you can't have romance with the possiblity of trading partners being at bay, only fully grown up professional dancers have more stability on keeping partners.
You do realize that it was Shizuku that appeared in the beginning during the Finals right? If it wasn't Shizuku then some other black-haired girl will be introduced in the future.
Nope I like them too. They have a really good chemistry especially both their drive to win. All they have to do now is to get along better/soften their expression when dancing
I actually did meant dancing partner, but oh well, totally forgot about chapter 1. Was that even suppose to be Shizuku? It sucks that there is so much develop between the mc and Chinatsu, but in the end, they are still gonna change partners.
>Was that even suppose to be Shizuku?
It doesn't even look like her, I think that guy and others are just having wishful thoughts.
The world of professional dancing won't always allow one to have a steady partner in all career phases, unless both keep improving at the same rate and never slows each other down.
I always thought that was just a random image made to look pretty while implying MC would suceed. At that point there was no way of knowing if the series would even be liked enough to reach Chinatsu's introduction
Those anons were talking Shizuku and she literally appears in the first chapter; it's already that doubtful that woman is a grown Shizuku, there's no way she could possibly be Chinatsu.
>Tatara will never "man up" and dominate Chinatsu.
You say that why?
All the build up the current arc is pointing towards at Tatara doing that Zone shit every sports manga has, in which the protagonist stars becoming very good at the sport he is practicing.
In this case is dominating the famale partner in dancing, something that Chinatsu always wanted but she had a strong personality that never allowed other men to guide her, both times Tatara "activated the Zone" Chinatsu got immediately wet and tried to deny in her mind Tatara was about to dominate her.
That's the issue, the mangaka keeps opening the possibilities, but she isn't quite making this series follow the romantic path, at least not yet.
The flags are all there if she wants to develop them, but so far Ballroom has been a sports manga since day one.
Glad this got an anime, so Kono Oto Tomare anime when?
I've started rereading it to prepare myself for the next chapter and I can't believe there was an explanation for why Tatara is so good at observing people.
One of the best parts of this anime is that if it does well it'll help make Seshiji wo Pin more popular, which is always good.
It's extremely hetero, tension between dancing couples are though the roof, that's why people are talking pairings even though technically not a drop of romance has been introduced in the series yet.
I can't believe it either now that you are showing it. It was all thanks to his grandma, for a second I thought his lost long mother was a pro dancer and he inherited those skills from her or something.
>Don't worry there will only be 1-3 gay anime out of 200 hetero ones next year.
>Christ some of you are some whiny ass fags.
Though female participants in sports shows are RARE AS FUCK so I take this as a compromise
It got the cover (pic related)
It will be omni pandering which enjoy.
It all depends on the course, Japanese music really isn't big on international ranks; many latino styles dominates the charts due them having all those fast movements that swooms people over.
You're retarded. The relationship between him and Chinatsu is actually smooth as fuck. It could become romance but at this point they're still figuring each other out and it's done perfectly.
>all these IG doubters
Just look at Haikyuu. The manga looks like trash but the adaptation is 50 episodes of high quality art and beautiful animation. IG is the best possible studio to hope for for a TV anime.
>QUALITY on Ice
Fujo will dying for this
>Even QUALITY on ice didn't make it until the end.
For the records, MAPPA is poor (financially). Almost all of their anime were flops too
(curse from old MADHOUSE, I guess). So, it was obvious from the start if Yaoi on Ice would be full of QUALITY.
Only project with decent amount of budget from certain sponsor has good quality animation (Like Shingeki no Bahamut).
Slated for July so plenty of time left for the team
Slated for late 2017-2018 and has been in the making for most of 2016
>Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu 2017 (Logh)
Been in the making since 2015
> Kuroko no Baske: Last Game
Has its own dedicated team
>Atom: The Beginning movie
Colab with two other studios
>Perfect Bones (Netflix original trash)
Once again has been in the making since early 2016 and should have plenty of support from Netflix
It has giant kid studio OLM & IG's new subsidiary Signal MD. So, I think IG will not have too much work in this one.
They'll be more busy with AoT S2, I guess.
Anyway, Signal MD already had movie with Kenji Kamiyama (SAC) in this early 2017. It will be weird if they do another movie project in 2017 again.
>That film is entirely digital right?
Nope. See again >>151732783. It's hand drawn as usual.
Digital doesn't have anything to do with being hand drawn or not. It's all drawn on tablets.
I know, anon. But your question is too general. Of course it's not cel animation.
>It's all drawn on tablets.
Nice info. I don't know about all that until now.
I think IG want to re-shape the industry once again with Signal MD.
Yeah. Very similar with Hosoda's style.
Most people I think understand digital animation means "not using paper and pencil". I think this film is kind of supposed to be a demonstration of how well digital can work or something though and to prove that top quality stuff can be made using it.
That's traditional hand drawn animation as opposed to digital hand drawn animation. It's just the terminology generally used. By "entirely digital" I was alluding to the fact that even the drawing was being done on computers something that isn't anywhere near ubiquitous when compared to digital filming, compositing and processing of traditionally hand drawn animation in anime.
I'm extremely apprehensive on this. I mean, I guess it's good that it's getting an anime, but it'll have to have a LOT of time and care put in to make it look even half as good as it does in the manga.
I want it to be good, but this looks like it might go the same way as YoI and have a massive quality drop during the actual dancing scenes.
I always get a little weirded out by the fact that they have everyone dancing at once instead of one couple at a time, seems just like they're adding complications to a 'sport' that's already hard to do in the first place.
You have to always be aware of the people around you so you don't knock into anyone, while also having to make sure that your routine grabs more attention or is in a better spot to be seen than anyone else, as well.
>but this looks like it might go the same way as YoI and have a massive quality drop during the actual dancing scenes.
Nah. I don't believe it's gonna be as bad as YoI animation.
But, I do agree if this one might not as good as the manga.
Of course if it's I.G the drop wouldn't be as bad as YoI's, but yeah, I just meant in general, the first/second episodes would look amazing, but after that there would be a big decline in the quality of the dancing scenes, which need to have a lot of effort put in otherwise they'll look like crap.
I don't think it will be that popular. It's airing in the summer. There will be a minimum of 10 fujo shows to compete with. (Dive was already announced) Girl MCs will give this one a disadvantage with fujos. Most others will be turned off by dancing/sports. It has its manga fanbase though.
