Yes. Hellsing sells itself as satirical and over the top from the get go while Elfen Lied tries to be a dramatic and serious story.

Both are shit though

Self awareness, execution, and appeal of a show outside of its edge.

In Hellsing's case, its edge works because it decides to go for an over-the-top action story with endearing characters taht bounce off one another. As such Hellsing can be described as edge done right, or "metal as fuck" due to the way the gore and other edgy elements aren't used to shock, but to entertain.

Elfen Lied by contrast tries to be a sincere story...yet still having over the top gore and darkness that it feels at odds with what it's trying to accomplish.

I liked it for what it was, honestly much of the humour in this series come from Alucard so these last few episodes have been kinda weak compared to the earlier ones.
Hopefully they can go all out with the next ones, kinda sad they most likely wont go back to Halloween releases

What do you suppose happened to them in the end? Alucard pretty much lost his chance to die provided some loophole for his current omnipresence doesn't exist. Are Alucard and Seras just gonna continue to serve the Hellsing organization even after Integra dies? She's probably hit menopause already so there's no chance of a bloodline heir. Does the Hellsing organization even have a future like this?
