I finished Robotics;Notes earlier today. I thought it was damn

I got this show mostly because I loved Real Drive and it looked similar. And because I like genki girls. But I have yet to try it.

It was a depressing ending to an otherwise "hype"-driven over the top optimistic mecha show. You don't just replace the ending of Gurren Lagann with Evangelion's for example, it'd be a big whiplash and alienating.

I see where you're coming from, although, I've always wanted to make show that would do that. Plus, the ending sounded like something from a late 70s/early 80s mecha anime. You know, the ones written by though were either children during or were born right after the Second World War, and so either grew up with the trauma or saw the trauma from interacting with parents or older siblings.

R;N got a fuckload of manga spin-offs right off the bat for the same reason it got an anime greenlit before the game was even out. They were really confident about it.

Chaos;Child has had only two manga since it came out and it took a while. Even S;G0 hasn't had any manga yet. In fact, S;G0 is responsible for the cancellation of the Pandora manga.
