I actually kind of hate those speeches. I think of work and when people deliver similar cheesy speeches and then people just go right back to doing what they usually do with almost blatant disregard for that attempt at motivation, and the reality is more entertaining if cynical.

Anime isn't the only time that happens, buddy. Hell, a lot of western movies thrive on that shit, like I can think of stupid football movies or ID4 or something. All I can see when I see these speeches delivered is "who are you trying to fool?" Very seldomly does a speech hit close to home at all or motivate when I can see right through it.
