No one thought there would be more until Slayers Revolution came out of nowhere. But Revolution was also so bad that Slayers lost a lot of its fans. So there's no way to know if more will be made again.

I think they should remake Lost Universe as a trial for Slayers.

I liked Revolution R. It was worse than the previous seasons, just like Try was worse than the 1st two, but it was still ton of fun.
I still hope they'll adapt the rest of the main LN one day.

I keep hoping that they'll do a fresh reboot of the series, based more closely on the original 15 novels... There seems to be a lot of that going on over the last few years (Sailor Moon Crystal, Evangelion Rebuild project... even Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood). :x Slayers still seems pretty popular in Japan so I'm kinda surprised they haven't done it yet.

Kanzaka already stated that he considers the anime to be a separate but equally valid canon. And considering how popular Amelia and Zelgadis are, they'd be stupid to reboot the series. Since they'd only be in 1 season at the most.

No, what needs to be done is just getting a good team together to adapt the other source material and make new seasons. Slayers has so much potential it could go on for decades with side stories and anime only arcs. You just need someone good to make it. Otherwise you end up with Naruto level filler crap or R-Evo level stupid crap.

I think its funny people hate Pokota so much when the whole point of his character is to be a literal clone of Lina. And force Lina to deal with someone as obnoxious and quick to anger as herself. Also, he really isn't the problem with Revolution/Evo. Its all the shitty things stuffed into the plot besides him. And a pretty generic enemy he has to fight. And the blatant lightsabers. And the useless detective. And the horrible rehashing of Rezo and dragon chan. And the weak filler.

I think that the actual characters and perhaps parts that didn't have anything to do with the actual plot were OK, but you are right that the actual overarching plot is dogshit. They could have adapted the LNs and their rad finale, or done something to top Lina and co. fighting Cthulhu in Try, but they sort of adapted volumes 5 and 6 while not really giving a shit. Bringing back Rezo really seemed pointless. They could have had one of the other sages have a shabby shard or something to make things more interesting.

Wasted potential. Hopefully the show fulfilled its goal of moving LN volumes and merchandise at least.

I feel mad with how they handled Duclis though. I know in the LN he was just there to try and cuck Gourry, bang Lina and died advancing the plot, yet it felt like there should've been an anime-exclusive character to develop Pokota with instead of someone who was already established. If they want to make something else for him, they could've at least dropped the whole relationship he had with Pokota and developed a bit more on how drastic his armor could be or just have him as a mook and final boss for Revo.

At least he's hot regardless if he was a tiger or centaur.

People who complain about Pokota or the rehash villains fail to recognize the biggest flaw with the Revolution-R. The absolute shit-tier comic relief villains. Sure, Weizer was great, but he wasn't a villain, and was actively helping the group, albeit by pretending to try and arrest Lina.

But the cat and dog duo? Even Zangulus had more personality, and he was a bunch of fucking emotionless clones. The cat and dog just showed up, bumbled uselessly, and left.

Compare that to Vrumigan, who's obsession with Gourry was entertaining, Martina, who was disturbingly successful and sort of got what she wanted in the end, and Gillas, who built a fucking nuke and beat Lina and Co fair and square, while somehow still being funny, bumbling, and incompetent.

Unless someone has the telecine film reels lying around in good condition, probably never. It never even got a remaster for DVD. Which means they may not have anything to remaster from.
Of course, miracles do happen. I mean, they found the original 35mm reels for Lodoss stuffed in storage and forgotten for years, so who knows. It could happen for Slayers.
