>series final arc is a trainwreck
>editors tell you to wrap that shit up quick or else
>write half assed shit finale
>has to suplement it with fucking LN shit
This is the most kubo'd we've ever been kubo'd.
Hime/Yuzu/Karin translations when?
Don't you get what Kubo's trying to say with the dead kid comic? His
heartis just not in it anymore.
If it's up to Kubo he'd just drop everything and quit cold turkey. Editors are the ones who told him to at least write an ending, and Matsubara talked him into doing illustrations for the novel.
I wish verduistering was the one doing translations, other people sometimes make awkward sentences or misunderstood words, or let their shipping bias seep into the translation. By the time they were corrected, simple-minded fans already ran with the previous inaccurate translation.
What does it mean?
There was someone in the previous thread that said Orihime knew what Ichigo was talking about when he told her he needed to tell her something, and it turns out the person that gave us the summary to Byakuya/Rukia scene said the same thing.
Did you seriously come to the thread to only say this?
Since someone brought her up.
How old is Orihime in the novel? 19 or 20? How much has her cup size increased? Ichigo paizuri fetish yes?
As someone who hasn't shipped anything in Bleach's whole run, IH and RR are pretty cute. Bleach is good when it's just about the gang getting together for random shenanigans and I'd watch an entirely romance-focused volume or movie like NaruHina.
>orihime will never wake you up in her cute messy morning state
Ichi's a boob man just like his pop, no matter how hard he denies it.
They really need to let it die and be forgotten. I have nothing good to say about the series, I barely "like" characters who were my favorites, and I have 0 interest in shipping or the light novels, so why do I keep having dreams about Bleach?
Of all the characters Kubo killed off, of which there were few, he was the best decision. His death brought about my favorite fight in Bleach.
Byakuya should have went with him.
Whether pure or repressed, Ichigo is cute.
Japanese fans tend to like making these "shrines". Hence the birthday cakes and stuff. And they rarely if ever show their face in social media.
I miss this goofy side of Ichigo. He became too serious towards the end of the manga.
Anyone have that "I had nothing but sex on my mind" thing with Rukia? I can't believe it was actually accurate.
>Ichika was named after Orihime and Ichigo
>Ichika looks like Senna with red hair
>Ichika's got Rukia's brattyness and Renji's rudeness
Also reminder that Yuzu wants affection.
>for wanting affection
That doesn't even make sense!
It's a joke. Anon is implying that Yuzu wants her brother's girlfriend to pamper her. Sexually.
In reality, Yuzu just wants to be taken care of because the death of her mother left a void in her life.
How fast do you think Kazui would be at his peak?
Did she start working at the eel shop?
Honestly, the source for that popularity comparison claim was iffy. I had the data from those 2006-2007 polls that was the origin of that fanlore, but the polls' methodology were not clear. In one of the polls, IchigoxTatsuki was even more popular than IchiRuki and RenRuki.
Data about that poll from the IchiHime forum in 2007
And this is the poll made by a Bleach videgame to decide what couple fans wanted to get the cover for it
Holy fuck that brings back old times. I didn't expect someone to screencap my post from 9 years ago.
I looked up my old Bleach folder and all I had related to that poll is this image (that was in that post) and the spreadsheet with the numbers, but none of the saved pages (that I've forgotten completely about, apparently I saved them at one point?).
>tfw no novel about Unohana and her killing sprees
Literally fanservice:the character
This made me revisit the IchiHime forum after so many years.
And to think when this was posted, I called it likely fake.
>Is it ever explained how Ichigo got to be part hallow, part soul reaper, part human, part Quincy?
His father is a shinigami, his mother is a human/quincy, his hollow come from one of Aizen's experiments
He did say these then:
>SJ: Do you have any plans to make Ichigo and Rukia a couple?
>Kubo-sensei: I'm not going to confirm nor deny that. [Laughs]
>* 1:50 PM - Will there be an Isshin backstory? Yes! He knew from the start he was a Soul Reaper.
>Q: Speaking of Ichigo's relationships with his friends, there seems to be a love triangle between Ichigo, Rukia and Orihime. Do you delve more into this in later volumes?
>Tite Kubo: (laughs) I get asked about that a lot! I don't want to make Bleach into a love story because there are much more exciting things about their personalities and things that they can do instead of getting into the romance aspect of their relationships.
>Tite Kubo: After I finished drawing chapter one, I already knew that Ichigo's dad Isshin would be a Soul Reaper. At the time, I didn't plan on having leaders in the Soul Society, so I didn't plan on him being one of the leaders.
>Q: Will you feature a back story about Isshin?
>Tite Kubo: Yes, I will draw it!
>IGN: What are your plans for the future of Bleach? Do you have an ending in mind?
>Kubo: There is no ending for Bleach at the moment.
(so the thing about wanting to end with Ichigo's kid meeting Rukia's kid was a lie, or that answer was a lie)
He said this too:
Q: For a shonen series, Bleach spends a lot focusing on the emotions and different bonds between the characters. I’m sure you’re asked this a lot, but will we ever see any romance by the end of the series?
Kubo: I don’t really intend to make it a romantic story, but it’s one of the aspects of the series, so I put it in here and there.
And later in 2008, for the the Fade to Black movie guide interview he said this:
Q: What do you think the bond is that these two have with each other?
Kubo:: It’s different from friendship but it’s not an romantic feeling either, these 2’s relationship, I think there is no other relationship like them in other works where despite both standing in a very close position with each other it is not romance (laughs)
But in this year’s movie there is a scene where Ichigo says Rukia is his “Precious nakama” and I think that explains their relationship well.
The AiHime fanclub at Bleachasylum had a decent amount of posters back during the site's prime. It was headed by Maltex, who most IR fans hated because of his translations. To this day I still don't know if they had a right to hate him because he was a shit translator or simply because he exposed their translations as biased towards IR.
Obviously the pairing didn't get to 2nd place because it's actually popular. Either they used bots or cleared their cache to vote multiple times. Or at least I always assumed AiHime placing that high was the result of mass cheating.
> because there are much more exciting things about their personalities and things that they can do instead of getting into the romance aspect of their relationships.
He should have included those much more exciting things about their personalities then. Considering what we actually got in the manga, this was a big fat lie. I'd have gladly taken several chapters worth of romance stuff, if that had meant the fight against Sniper Chicken and Asspull Thor had been halved, or if we could have skipped some of the mook Sternritter fights.
The relationship between Ichigo and Rukia always struck me as more of a bromance, like Riggs and Murtaugh in Lethal Weapon or any other buddy cop movie, so I'm ok with how things turned out. I'm kinda left cold by the last novel covering Rukia and Renji's wedding, since I don't really give any fucks about Renji in particular, so I didn't feel the need for them to explore that pairing beyond the technical info that they got married. I'd have been more interested in a "how Ichigo fell for Orihime" kind of story, but I guess the RR Wedding is a more convincing story hook in order to show where all the Soul Society people are, instead of doing something similar for Ichigo and Orihime. At least I got a half-assed proposal scene out of it.
it sucks that we have to wait till spring next year for he Hisagi novel
I guess this should go in /wsr/ but I need Bleachfags' opinions so I thought I'd try asking in a Bleach thread. The thing is, my cousin is a total mad Bleachfag, and as I'm visiting Japan in a few months I thought it would be good to bring him back something Bleach related. But not really knowing much about the franchise I wouldn't know what to get there that he couldn't get here already. Any thoughts?
>Bleach manga ending is so shit that they have to write a novel to resolve all the plotholes and missing conclusions
you can't make that shit up.
I hope Kubo had a really interesting project in the back to be that lazy
>people go on and on for months about how bleach was cancelled
>kubo reveals in the authors note that it was HIS decision to jump from the final battle to the day ichika/kazui met
Kubo wanted to end his manga that way. Stop with the "it was cancelled" meme.
It doesn't mean it wasn't canceled. It could just have been that editors suggested short time skip before the epilogue. But obviously there's no proof it was canceled either (TYBW is actually pretty similar to Arrancar arc with this "abrupt ending with tons of unresolved stuff" thing, so who knows?).
It was clearly canceled. With the way Kubo was pacing and spending his sweet time on irrelevant shit, it was as if he thought he had another 10 years to keep drawing Bleach.
From the start of Bleach, he already planned what his final chapter would look like. So even if it was canceled he already knew his ending.
This scene is completely taken out of context. He doesn't tell her "no" because he doesn't give a shit about her or doesn't wanna hang out with her, it's because he's worried about the whole situation at hand and Orihime looks sad while watching him walk away because she also knows something is wrong.
Also she one of the people he thought about before completely breaking down(the other being Chad). If you can't accept that Ichigo cares for her a lot at this point in the story then thats on you.
He obviously does throughout the entire series. You specifically picked a scene with him planning to secretly train with Ginjo. Something he kept from Orihime because Ginjo wasn't trustworthy and he didn't want her involved.
It's not like he was like "fuck you Orihime, I'll never visit Chad with you."
>tells hollow!sora that if he wants to kill inoue, he better kill him first
>was prepared to go to HM alone
>basically rises up from dead because of her screams
>only recognizes her in his vasto lord form
>offers to walk her home in the hospital
>literally invites her up to his room the day before to hang out and talk
you're grasping at straws anon.
Ichigo thinks Orihime is an adorable weirdo with amazing breasts.
People are just oddly desperate to absolve Kubo of the climax of the final arc sucking. So they claim it was suddenly canceled leaving Kubo with no time. Despite the fact it's apparent that Kubo and his editors agreed to end Bleach at it's 15th anniversary a while ago, and Kubo dropped the ball and ran out of time because his pacing sucks.
I heard that based on what authors of past popular WSJ titles have revealed in interviews, if your series is big, you'll be warned at least 6 months ahead that you gotta end it in this time span.
I don't know if this really was true in KT's situation, but I wouldn't be surprised if he miscalculated/was unwilling to improve his pacing despite knowing how many chapters he had left.
But at the end of the day it's all speculation.
Bleach ended at it's 15th anniversary, while getting an announcement of a live action movie. That's not something that'd happen if it'd been suddenly canceled.
Toriko's author clearly got more than a year's warning for Toriko ending, and he sped things up to get to the conclusion. I doubt Bleach would get less warning. It's even possible that when they announced the TYBW would be the final arc at the start of it, they'd already agreed on Bleach's end date.
The manga felt like it went on a different path a long time ago to me. I don't really get what the message of the manga was in general.
The ending felt like Bleach though-at least to me. I always imagined a happy ending for everyone with Ichigo's son being revealed in the end.
>The manga felt like it went on a different path a long time ago
This. I don't know why people talk as if it all fell apart during the ending when the manga went downhill several years ago.
>as a child Chad made a promise to his grandfather
>that he'd never use his strength and fists for personal gain
>his relationship with his grandfather was a very important part of his character
>it made him who he was
>he ends up becoming a pro boxer and makes money bashing people's face in
>he also has an unfair advantage due to his spiritual pressure enhancing his strength
>regardless of whether it's intentional or not
>he can beat people who have dedicated all day every day for their dream without effort
>the entire last chapter revolved around his friends watching this fight.
I swear part of me thinks Kubo did this on purpose and a big middle finger and final FUCK YOU to all his fans.
Kubo probably didn't even remember Chad's promise desu. He was the nakama with the least amount of screentime and we didn't get to see him fight in any of the last two arcs PLUS he jobbed in both the SS and HM arcs.
This makes no sense. The "ending" was decent and to be expected.
What was complete and utter trash was that entire final arc. The only people who agonize over who ends up fucking who are stupid shippers themselves.
Not him but when people criticize the "ending", they usually mean everything since the start of Ichigo&Orihime vs Yhwach (or since the ending announcement), since before these people still had some hope of answering the questions, characters getting involved etc.
Wrong. Don't wanna get into it, but you're wrong.
>that he'd never use his strength and fists for personal gain
No, it was he wouldn't use his fists for his own sake, which was him beating up on weaker people for shits and giggles.
Plus, Chad getting into boxing was foreshadowed in a colorspread.
How is becoming a PROFESSIONAL boxer against his character? If it were an underground boxer for the yakuza, maybe I'd agree with you, but he's having sanctioned fights. It's actually a step up from busting delinquents with Ichigo during their middle school days.
Also Uryu becoming a doctor is the best show don't tell of character development since it shows that he's rectified his relationship with his father after realizing the truth about what he was doing with his mother's corpse.
This anon >>151608891 gets it. Ihe ending is fine for an 'ending' as in no more chapters after this, hell you could take out the Ywach parts and place it after 423 and it'd still fit in fine for those "Bleach should have ended after Aizen" folks.
is anybody buying the Blu Ray sets? I own the complete series on DVD but I think I might buy these to support the series since it is my favorite show and who knows if it gets enough support that sends a message that there is still a market for Bleach and could bring it back.
My guess is that he was warned, but for whatever reason he still writes as if he has all the time in the world.
In ch 665, 6 months prior to the last chapter, he wrote this scene which is a building block that hints at the ending (Uryuu becoming a doctor)
It amazing the backstories Kubo comes up with for his characters. To think, all this time Chad was finding his true passion in life and cultivating his skills.
It's also amazing how he never decides to show them. I guess another drawn out Byakuya and Shiro-kun fight was needed.
Nice! More of Kubos hidden backstory. Ishida, in a moment of rebellion, gave up his dream of being a doctor.
I like their weird friendship/rivalry. Like that scene early on in Bleach when they awkwardly had lunch together on the roof.
There are some things in the novels that I wish were put in the manga, rather than yet another drawn out fight.
Like the process of trials in which Hisagi and Kira were initially grilled for sympathizing with the enemy.
The whole thing with Nayura.
Would've been better to introduce Nayura than those two random rookies who never amounted to anything.
I always preferred his friends (even characters like Tatsuki, Keigo, and Mizuiro are more interesting) to the shinigami. I recognize that's not popular and they were never going to be front and center. Ichigo, himself, kind of disappeared in favor of the Gotei 13.
But, the heart wants what it wants.
I love Orihime so much, she's the best girl in the entire world!
The translator for the WDkALY novel also did a post on how Chad being a boxer isn't OOC: http://missstormcaller.tumblr.com/post/151297165117/im-re-reading-the-bleach-digital-official-colour
Don't you find it suspect that after a long period without twitter, Kubo suddenly reappear on it to post:
1. Mayuri cosplay
2. Dead kid comic
with a span of 3 weeks, and then stopped posting anything afterwards. No replying to fans, no interacting with other people in the industry.
It's like he solely returns to twitter in order to tell people why Bleach ended abruptly, and that he wanted to quit, and he (Mayuri) does what he wants regardless of what others feel.
Sneak peek at the New Year cards from Bleach Bankai Battle: http://flare-flare.tumblr.com/post/155179330131/sneak-peek-at-the-new-year-cards-from-bleach-%E5%8D%8D%E8%A7%A3%E3%83%90%E3%83%88%E3%83%AB
She's mine and I will defend her with my life.
Cute. Source? There was a time when practically all new fanarts were on pixiv but these days they seem to be coming from somewhere else I can't find.
>Volume 1, chapter 4
>written very small in Katakana we can see ゴンザレス・ジム (Gonzaresu Jim) which translates to Gonzales Gym.
My bro Kubo. Chad's gym has been there from the start. I wonder if there's a map of Karakura Town.
It was in SOULs.
Aside from the legend there, A to J are places they elaborate on further in subsequent pages.
A. Kurosaki Clinic
B. Tatsuki Arisawa's home
C. Furin Hall (風臨会館, fūrin kaikan) (karate dojo)
D. Inoue family home
E. Matsukura Hospital (松倉病院, matsukura byōin) (abandoned)
F. Urahara Shop
G. Karakura High School
H. Onose River (小野瀬川, onose-gawa)
I. Sunflower Sewing (ヒマワリソーイング, himawari sōingu)
J. Karakura Hospital
At some point, in some form...
But I really doubt it's ever going to be 1:1 adaptation as it's too long to do it for the few loyal fans left and it's absolutely inaccessible for new ones.
It was in a novel. Kira wasn't grilled for being sympathetic he just said he attacked Momo and Rangiku of his own accord not because Gin manipulated him which is the truth.
Hisagi on the other hand was considered sympathetic because he brought up Tosen's dead friend and how Central 46 failed to properly handle her case.
Came across this rumor on twitter that Rukia in the live action will be played by Sugisaki Hana (杉咲花).
And that supposedly Shirota Yuu and Tamaki Hiroshi have been spotted at shooting location as Renji and Byakuya.
Could be a bunch of bollocks, but one thing that's consistent is that a figure that looks like Renji (tall, red hair) was seen filming.
Here I was always thinking Orihime was supposed to develop Stockholm syndrome, move to Las Nachos and have a dozen bat babies with crying faces. Then she would not have been a college dropout and could have been an astronaut and baker.
Not really. Ichihime may be the endgame but that doesn't mean that Ulq/Ori existed only to prop it. The scene where Ulq reaches for Orihime and she reaches back had nothing to do with her feelings for Ichigo and plenty of the Ulq/Ori talks were about Ori's bond with all her friends rather than purely centering on her feelings for Ichigo.
Ulq/Ori was Kubo just doing the classic "cold-hearted villain meets pure girl, learns the power of love and friendship from her, dies tragically"-story.
With the caveat that the cold-hearted villain couldn't fully understand the power of love and friendship, but had just enough of an inkling to give his end some pathos.
That was the idea, anyway.
>cold-hearted villain meets pure girl, learns the power of love and friendship from her, dies tragically"-story
10 second before he dies, he's bragging about murdering Ichigo in front of Orihime and destroying all her hopes and dreams.
He only comes to his realization after losing big time and seeing the reality of Orihime's infinite kindness.
Still makes me laugh that unlike pretty much all other characters with multiple attributes, all Ulqs in BBS are Heart.
"Yuzu says Orihime acts as a mother so she is very happy when she’s around. Karin agrees when asked and says she’s reminded of her mother, Masaki, and looks at the large poster in the room when they talk more about it fondly."
-Rukia and Renji invited Gotei members to have some sake (like a tea party) where they announced they were getting married like this,
Rukia’s face gets redder and redder from anxiety when Renji, finally, stands up straight nervously with her next to him. She deeply thanks everyone for coming and Renji spills it with a “We- we are getting married!” declaration and there’s shocked silence for a moment until Rangiku, Hanataro, Kiyone, and others congratulate them, people aren’t surprised by them getting together (I think this part is translated? But I’ll put it here because I found it really cute and humorous how it was written.)
-Rukia goes to Byakuya’s place to inform she’s going to do the marriage enrollment, Chiyo appears again (Rukia’s servant & friend from Makoto-sensei’s last novel The Death Save The Strawberry) to help her
-Iba takes care of Komamura’s dog, Goro. I haven’t seen any confirmation on the wolf cubs’ relation to Komamura (I sort of skimmed here a bit sorry)
-Renji and Rukia run into Iba & the doggos on their way and they get friendly here
-Rukia and Renji are packing and looks to be getting a mansion/house to live in together in the first central ward area due to the upcoming establishment of marriage (this is before the ceremony)
-Everyone’s fave forgotten shinigami Ryuunosuke Yuki & others appear here for a short bit to help with moving and duties (he’s confirmed alive at least? they don’t do anything important)
-Ryuusuke & other members give them some device box from Urahara-san that flashes into white smoke, Urahara greets them which Rukia & Renji try to reply to and are surprised by being congratulated for their marriage. It is a recorded voice mail. They also receive a gift from him with the device. (He’s being shady about some technology gift they must keep a secret? Don’t quote me on this part.)
-Renji & Rukia have a meal at Byakuya’s place in silence which makes Renji nervous and they look to get a kimono because Byakuya asked about his dress earlier with Rukia. Later all three go to get their marriage papers officialized and announced as an official couple, the two get emotionally happy over this on finally being married.
The wedding ceremony section:
-It starts with Orihime at a park by the train station where she and Renji&Rukia meet up
-Rukia asks how the shop is prospering since Orihime works as a regular employee at a bakery’s cake store called “ABCookies” ever since after high school graduation three summers ago
-Because Orihime relied on distant relative’s living expenses, but since they would only give assistance until high school graduation, she had to look for work.
-Just from the air that Renji and Rukia seem more intimate than before, Orihime wonders happily with a big smile - “Oh, you two started dating, isn’t it?!” Orihime’s intuition is sharp although dull many times (?)
-Rukia is taken aback by the suddenness that she’s laughing nervously and stumbling for words. “Inoue, Renji and I… We entered today… ah……. ah oh yeah um… entering… We entered to get married.” sort of thing. Orihime is really happy to hear this that she’s begun to cry tearfully with a shining smile
-Wondering if Rukia has told Ichigo yet, Rukia tells her she wanted to tell her female best friend first of the news before heading over to see Ichigo
-Riruka works at Yukio’s enterprise company, works as a designer in the apparel department
-Jackie Tristan too works at the same company but she flies all over the world to developing countries as charity, so they rarely see each other in person
-Orihime calls Riruka and talks about Rukia getting married and the ceremony is approaching in a couple of weeks, she wanted to make a wedding dress for her at first. Riruka yells that it’s not possible for a beginner to do in two weeks in which Orihime thinks over again with the suggestion of a wedding veil instead. They agree and order the materials.
-Ichigo is a university student coming home from afternoon class (doesn’t mention what field/career)
-Tatsuki does karate
-All the human friends are gathered at Kurosaki Clinic including Tatsuki, Keigo, and Mizuiro and the two Kurosaki sisters
-The later four’s careers aren’t mentioned
-They’re all eating cakes Orihime brought from ABCookies and working on the veil progressively together and it takes them hours until completion
-Orihime liked flowers since a long time ago. They are putting texture of strawberry flower petals on the hem of the veil. In the language of flowers, it means happy family which she says would be perfect as a motif on the veil for the loving couple which everyone sewed some petals on then put the gold embroidery through.(Ichika isn’t really mentioned in the novel but it’s a speculation on connecting the dots where her name comes from with this info drop)
-Uryu is a medical student in medical school. He’s mended his relationship with his father but does not answer any more questions about it.
-Chad’s sparring partner is named Daniel (安堂ダニエル) a heavyweight Japanese champion, he leaves after getting the call
-Yuzu says Orihime acts as a mother so she is very happy when she’s around. Karin agrees when asked and says she’s reminded of her mother, Masaki, and looks at the large poster in the room when they talk more about it fondly.
-Orihime wears a pink dress made of fluffy chiffon material at the wedding ceremony (putting this here for the colorists/editors)
-After the ceremony is done with Renji and Rukia being wed, there’s a feast.
>Kyoraku borrows Rukia for a moment and they leave to have some privacy because Kyoraku has a story to tell her and gives a gift wrapped in cloth to her
>Rukia is really surprised it’s the 13th squad’s haori and gets overwhelmed by emotions
>Ukitake had told Kyoraku he wants to retire one day so he originally tailored a haori to give to Kaien but then he lost his life
>Kyoraku did not give it to Rukia until today because he was waiting for her heart to grow (to strengthen her heart for leadership). Also hands her an envelope with a heavy banknote inside, Rukia tries to not accept but Kyoraku tells her it is from Ukitake and pleads for her to please accept
>Rukia swears an oath to herself that it won’t be too far in the future she will be captain with the haori, she just needs more time
-The girls including Orihime and Rangiku all excitedly take pictures of Rukia and with Rukia by putting their faces together behind the camera
(A lot are camera happy haha)
-Kyoraku borrows Rukia for a moment and they leave to have some privacy because Kyoraku has a story to tell her and gives a gift wrapped in cloth to her

Rukia swears an oath to herself that it won’t be too far in the future she will be captain with the haori, she just needs more time
-Four hours after the reception, the humans are now leaving to head home and they give gift bags.
-There is a message from Isshin given to Rukia. Isshin tells he is the uncle to Kaien. At the time of his nephew’s death, he was the tenth captain so it was a shock. Of course, he had heard the circumstances from Ukitake, and thought Rukia needed a helping hand/comfort most, so he visited the 13th barracks many times but when he saw Rukia’s painful profile/look, he could not call out anything.
-Renji tells Rukia to remain and he’ll escort the humans to the senkaimon so that they can head home because he is a part of the 6th squad.
-What follows after are the last few pages with Renji + Ichigo and Ichigo + Orihime which are translated
-Hisagi’s 2017 novel will reveal the mystery of the world, the Fullbringers and Arrancar, the Soul King, and the great aristocrat houses
>ust from the air that Renji and Rukia seem more intimate than before, Orihime wonders happily with a big smile - “Oh, you two started dating, isn’t it?!”
I guess they skipped the dating part and went straight to marriage.
>-Yuzu says Orihime acts as a mother so she is very happy when she’s around. Karin agrees when asked and says she’s reminded of her mother, Masaki, and looks at the large poster in the room when they talk more about it fondly.

It's a sex toy isn't it?
>I guess they skipped the dating part and went straight to marriage.
I figured they would. I always thought they had feelings for each other, especially back during their academy days which is why Rukia was so hurt by Renji letting her go.
Or their courtship period is very short., during which they haven't had the chance to visit the human world. I don't think they go there very often, once a year tops. But not "chapter 686 is the first time they've been there since the end of the war" like some said.
So THIS is why the haori Rukia is wearing in the epilogue looks too big for her. God damn, this novel has so many cute moments in it.
Holy shit, Isshin knew who Rukia was the whole time?
>Orihime is like Masaki, she is warm and radiant. She makes the Kurosaki household feel happy and homey.
I can't wait for the full translation of this moment.
Reminds me of the good old days where some anons thought Ichigo knocked up Orihime right after the war ended. And by good old days I mean 4 months ago.
I'm glad Karin has someone she can feel comfortable talking to about the trials and tribulations of having big boobs.
Really glad the twins feel that way towards Orihime. Even though Tatsuki is Ichigo's childhood friend, and Rukia lived with them for a short while-neither of the girls were shown to be close to either of them.
I can believe it with Ichigo. Renji takes more suspension of disbelief, but then they just became friends again not too long ago, perhaps in between the high workload especially Rukia's as an acting captain, they preferred to keep the status quo for a while.
But they weren't surprised either (except Hisagi despite him being the editor-in-chief for the local tabloid meaning he should've been the one to know gossips first). Yumichika's face was like "FINALLY you idiots".
How cute is it that Ichika's name can both be a tribute to the friend helped her parents mend their relationship and also means "happy family"?
>people aren’t surprised by them getting together
I get that. They were all probably waiting for it to happen. I'm just saying that it took a really, really long time. I'm just shocked cause I thought it had already happened or was about to when Renji gave his speech to Ichigo.
Not really. Masaki as a mother was described as very beautiful and kind in the earlier chapters and that also applies to Orihime. Plus they do look alike in appearance, the same body type and long, warm hair color.
>Because Orihime relied on distant relative’s living expenses, but since they would only give assistance until high school graduation, she had to look for work.
Is getting a scholarship really hard in Japan? I mean, Orihime has the third highest grade in her school. Or could it be their school is actually shitty on a national level so she's only competitive in their area but only so-so compared to the best students in Tokyo/Japan? I find it hard to believe as Japan even gives scholarships to foreign students.
There's also the matter of being able to support herself financially if she is only working part time. She probably needed to work full time to pay for her apartment and living expenses and college simply was not an option.
She is working at a bakery and she did say one of her dream careers was to become a baker.
His family's loaded so he doesn't need a scholarship.
I'll just assume all these fighting supernatural beings and skipping school may have caused their grades to drop or they missed the deadlines on scholarship application.
To be honest, yes. in Japan it's far more than just "That guy is smart/athletic" They also have to have a prestigious family that's been involved in politics or can in some way increase the schools power.. Ryuuken doesn't care for that kinda thing and Orihime is literally the spawn of a whore and a drunkard with a dead brother. It sucks but that's how it is. It's enough that Orihime was smart enough to go to college in the first place, usually in that country after high school you're expected to go into a field of work.
>All these similarities weren't brought up until the last minute.
Actually they were. They were very apparent in the manga. Some people just decided to not believe it and now act surprised when characters comment on what was an obvious parallel.
>All these similarities weren't brought up until the last minute.
When would that be brought in the manga though? The twins hardly got screentime the final arc except for the one panel and the final chapter + the nakama were at war anyways then it skipped to the 10year ending and that comment would've felt out of place since Orihime was already married into the family.
>All these similarities weren't brought up until the last minute.
You'd notice them earlier if you weren't busy insisting Masaki was (only) a parallel to Rukia.
Nope, gajins very rarely get anything unless they are extremely talented, universities really only want gajins as english teachers and even then, they only want white ones. the women, especially love white dudes.
To be fair, Masaki-Isshin and Rukia-Ichigo shares some similarities as well, but less so their personalities/looks but their situation. It also negates one anti-IR argument at the time that Rukia is too old for Ichigo and they can't be together because she's shinigami and he's human.
The EBTR arc was something I see could be used as basis for predicting either pairing. It's just that hardcore shippers on either side refused to see anything that supports their rival ship.
Oh yea, I totally saw the Ichigo rescuing Rukia in this scene but with the under the arm thing since the words they said were different. After that Ichigo throws Rukia to Renji while Masaki happily thanks Isshin while being fully naked.
Actually Japan (through JICA, partnership with World Bank and other donor organizations) gives scholarships every year to students from developing countries.
>tfw you remember you'll never see bride Orihime
it hurts lads
>I think there's even a Kenpachi/Ichigo scene that parallels this rescue
There is. The words Ichigo says to Rukia when he rescues her are what he says to Kenpachi when he saves him.
Not exactly the ideal parallel for any shipper I imagine.
I'm not counting on it. Kubo didn't even want to draw the sketches in the first. We'll get sketches in the next novel, and then the one-shot for the live-action but that's it. If there is a databook, I don't see it being made for quite awhile.
>All these similarities weren't brought up until the last minute.
Matsubara was obviously able to tell that Masaki and Orihime were alike during the flackback arc. Why else would they include such a small detail?
>rukia considers orihime her female best friend
>-Hisagi’s 2017 novel will reveal the mystery of the world, the Fullbringers and Arrancar, the Soul King, and the great aristocrat houses
It kinda annoys me how Kubo did such a shoddy job of tying stuff up that he needs not one, but several novels to take care of things. All that shit, including the wedding novel, should have been in the manga proper. Even his novel illustrations look like quick sketches, instead of properly inked. I hope he's done for good with being a mangaka. He clearly doesn't give much fucks anymore and hasn't for quite some time.
I've seen quite a bit of those "muh parallels" collages now and going by how Bleach in general developed, I wonde if people are mistaking Kubo just reusing cool poses and panel compositions for some deeper meaning. Remember those collages showing just how often he reused the "teleports behind you" panel composition? Stands to reason that he'd reuse other stuff as well, without any deeper meaning behind it, regardless of ship.
More like, Rukia's friendship situation is really that bad, her female best friend doesn't hang out with her except on rare visits with the whole family and doesn't even see her as a best friend.
He hasn't done properly inked novel illustrations since a long time ago.
I'm sure Orihime also see's Rukia as a bestfriend, you don't measure things like that especially when you grow older anon.
They come from different worlds so it's normal that they don't hang out that much. I'm sure Tatsuki and Orihime don't either since they both work even more now, especially Orihime since she's on her own with the finances.
>She makes the Kurosaki household feel happy and homey
I bet she was lonely by herself after her brother died
This is very true, anon. Facial expressions and paneling mean nothing in Bleach. Most of these parallels are jokes.
Masaki's personality and Orihime's are blatantly similar though. I don't think that's even a "parallel." I don't know what you'd call it, they just share personality traits and act the same way.
Tatsuki is Hime's soulmate. Rukia can be her bestfriend.
>rare visits with the whole family
Orihime visited Rukia during the 17 months in the last novel.
I believe this was his last appearance.
how people could ever think Masaki was similar to Rukia? I remember IRfags calling IHfags idiots and delusional because they say Orihime and Masaki were similar. This is like calling someone delusional because you say the sky is blue and water is wet.
IRfags would rather die than admit IHfags were right. They still cling to the idea that they are the only ones to have read Bleach right all these years, and that Kubo betrayed them in the end.
I remember Renji physically carried him to the last battle, Tsukishima appearing out of nowhere to fix his sword using bullshit powers, Aizen using the Kyouka Suigetsu to make Yhwach think he's Ichigo and Renji, Ryuken giving Uryuu a special arrow made out of the silver clot formed in Kanae's heart after the Auschwahlen and Uryuu shooting it at Yhwach stopping his powers for a second so Ichigo can land a final, critical hit, but I have forgotten the order of those happening.
Ichika's gonna be a spoiled brat. A really cute spoiled brat.
>Riruka's best friend is Orihime,too.
I remember arguing way back during the Mexico arc in some general forum how Orihime was gradually set up as the love interest and Rukia is more of a buddy to Ichigo and "friend with more life experience" to Orihime, but it was like talking to a wall with some individuals. It was then that I realized, that with shippers, it didn't matter whatever kind of evidence or conclusions I'd bring up, regardless of whether I backed it up with chapter/page numbers. A shipper won't examine the facts and then arrive at a conclusion, but rather they set out with the firm belief that their preferred conclusion is indeed true and then they sift through the source material for any "evidence" they can find to make their assumption seem plausible.
I still kinda arseblasted tha tKubo never really did anything with Tatsuki. They had that whole nice "princess and her dragon" thing going in the beginnig, played well off each other and Tatsuki had as strong a motivation as any character to get in on the magic punchathon train. She could have been a great moral support for Orihime and a much needed second character to play off and flesh Orihime out, beyond her attachment to Ichigo and the once in a blue moon talk with Chad. Yet Kubo ignored that avenue time and time again until it was too late.
Kubo literally spent 15 years lying to us. He milked IchiRuki for cash and then told us to go fuck ourselves after he bought himself a nice house and got his retirement fund secured.
A spoiled brat who have gone through 4th grade lessons of the four skills and now deemed fit, by Yoruichi among others, to serve as shinigami apprentice at age 6.
She's gonna be so full of herself.
>He milked IchiRuki for cash
Those two interacted less and less the more the manga went on plus Orihime's love only ever grew stronger while her and Ichigo got closer. The IR bond however stayed the same since the end of SS arc.
>A shipper won't examine the facts and then arrive at a conclusion, but rather they set out with the firm belief that their preferred conclusion is indeed true and then they sift through the source material for any "evidence" they can find to make their assumption seem plausible.
You're 100% right. IRs are by far the most delusional and stubborn though.
>the one behind diaper-kun
>Orihime's main friends are lonely girls.
I can kind of understand that though since Kubo did shill IR like crazy (but also since they were kind of the faces of the manga too). And if you started watching from the beginning you could definitely feel the bond Ichigo and Rukia had.
I dont particularly care for Bleach couples either way though but I get why the shippers hold desperately on to their delusions.
I did feel it, but it was pretty much done after the SS arc. Their entire relationship after that consisted of big reunion moments that were followed with Rukia encouraging him with some pep talk and tough love, and thats it.
HM-reunion/hits him and yells at him at first/"man in my heart" pep talk/pretty much it
FB-reunion/gives powers back/hits him and yells at him at first/pep talk about despair/pretty much it
Quincy arc-bond isn't highlighted at all, but they still fight and yell at each other in the last chapter because of their different parenting skills.
It got boring to me.
Kubo rarely gets rid of characters, but when he does they are the ones I enjoy.
I don't know. I didn't really watch the anime. I just read the manga. I always thought he'd end up with Orihime and Rukia his bro. I also thought Yoruichi/Urahara was a thing, though.
The girls were the one to call out the similarity though.
The novel made Ichirukifags go full retard.
This is actually really sad once you think about it. They can go on and on about how they don't care about the novel, but they obviously do.
Yachiru survived, she just moved to a different realm. What we don't know if she'll ever manifest outside to communicate with people aside from Zaraki again.
So I guess they spent some time googling pictures of grown men wearing diapers, huh.
>they let him.
Basically. They relied on the anime fillers, ops and eds, merch, and the occasional colorspread instead of what was in the actual manga.
>only ever cared about one girl
>left her to plot a very long and convoluted revenge that includes helping the man you want to kill and being hated by everyone
>girl doesn't even want the revenge
>girl's miserable because she still pines for you
>fails in the revenge
>gets killed by the man you want to kill
>girl continues to be miserable inside
He really does.
>but i can't decide which artstyle i like more
I like em both, but the old style had a certain quirky charm to it. His current style is great though. I hope to see more of it in the future.
a) Let them?
b) Actively lead them on?
c) Was oblivious?
So drawing the MCs back to back is now considered milking? Alright then.
He didn't. He was an asshole. A tragic asshole.
it's a drawing of the two main characters. you're retarded if you think that's leading them on.
>fans: Renji drops his spaghetti harder
>Kubo: no, Rukia
>there was a time during their dating period when ichigo brought orihime to his moms grave and orihime did the same with soras
>we'll never see it drawn out
This fan made an "Abarai Rukia" seal stamp.
Aging is inconsistent since the beginning.
And Kubo never explained how having children works, just that they can have children.
At least Yoruichi had good fights till the end, right?
I'm biased though, I've wanted to fuck her since the start, her brother too.
>At least Yoruichi had good fights till the end
Literally where? She got a few panels then was turned into mindless catgirl. Her last good fight was against Soi-fon back in the SS arc.
How cute and clever. I'm glad for RR and IH shippers especially the latter since they were bullied to the point where they couldn't even post their fanart on some sites.
>Orihime and Masaki will never know each other
>kubo probably has a drawing/sketch of bride orihime somewhere
>we'll never see it
Anyone got some cute fanart of these two? I never expected to like them this much, but here we are.
>how people could ever think Masaki was similar to Rukia?
>I remember IRfags calling IHfags idiots and delusional because they say Orihime and Masaki were similar
The way they managed to understand the complete opposite of what Kubo intended impresses me to no end.
>They still cling to the idea that they are the only ones to have read Bleach right all these years
The funny part is that the whole Ichigo/Rukia dynamic was pretty much gone past the SS arc.
>it was like talking to a wall with some individuals
Typical shipper behavior.
>IRs are by far the most delusional and stubborn though
They literally proved that het shipping is just as bad as /u/ and /y/
One of the cutest.
red-haired baby from 2007, now canon
A fan said that this mention of Hitsugaya's time in the academy is a reference to his movie. Is there really a line like that in that movie?
She's literally dead-dead.
We don't really know happens to Quincy when they die (or at least happened when Yhwach was alive). And Masaki was eaten by hollow, hollows can make people dead-dead too.
>And Shibata will never meet his mom.
Now, that's legit shitty.
When you're eaten by a hollow you cease to exist until that hollow is slain by a zanpakuto, then your soul enters the reincarnation cycle. Sora was a rare case where he held onto his will but he was still a run of the mill hollow so he'd still be reincarnated upon death. That's why Masaki and Sora will never meet their loved ones again as themselves. They no longer exist like that.
