My favorite episode is still 3, but yeah, ep8 was the last big high/great episode. Ep9 was still good, even with the boring PI, it was a nice Yayaka centric episode, but ep10 onward was just excruciating to watch.

If they also upgrade episodes 12 and 13 to 30 minutes each to fix pacing issues, it will easily upgrade to top 3.

If they then decided to add in an epilogue episode 14 with comfy adventures after the conclusion of the main story and maybe a kissu, it would be top 2 easily.

Then, if they did all the above and added like 5 more episodes to the main series- showing us the 2 PI that were only hinted at in episode 5, allowing us to have progression between episode 4 and 5 instead of the time jump, an episode 7.5 showing us Papika perspective of episode 7, and then 2 episodes focusing either solely on Papika or Flip Flap members, and then the show would defintiely be 11/10 perfect GOAT number 1 of all time.

I don't know, on one hand so many other shows didnt screw the pooch in the last episodes (in fact, they got better) that it wouldnt be fair to put this show above them, and yet the first 8 or so episodes were so up and above everything else this season it would be sad to not give them praise.

I am not a huge fan of space dandy but dropping the show is a mistake, especially since the latter half is generally better and has some absolutely fantastic stuff. The episodes are so different and the continuity matters so little that the right approach to SD is to skip episodes you're not feeling 5 minutes in.

Not gonna lie, totally underwhelmed right now. At the very least, the generic happy ending means I don't have to be left with low quality AND tragedy. The bait and switch where Cocona thought she could never get back to PI and had lost Papika was actually a really good idea, but she didn't think that for long enough to make me feel sad or worried that that would be the actual ending. Should have been stretched out over a few more episodes. Rushed/10

I still love all the characters though.

Ep 12 was by far the worst and you can call it bad but 13 was in line with most of the other episodes in terms of quality and general flow of the story. The whole series is lighthearted and weird and to ask for some sort of edgy dark ending just ignores what the whole show is about.

So, what do you think the chances are that Papika and Cocona are still stuck in Pure Illusion, and maybe never even left it? They flew into Mimi, seemingly without any real plan, and when they woke up everything was just magically back to normal.

We don't even know what happened after they collided with mimi. Did she destroy the world, and just make a new PI where she thought Cocona would be happy? A cardboard world with cardboard people, and maybe Cocona was even manipulated to never see through it-- just her and Papika, being played with like rag dolls, for the rest of eternity, going on fake adventures to fake worlds.

A "real word" Pure Illusion to end the series, that would make Flip Flappers into a 9 or 10/10 anime.

Shame the costume and character designs are not cute enough. They were kind of bland, and lacking fluffy angelic types that are often in mahou shoujo. Also, there's too much sexualization. These two factors are one of the few reasons that made it unpopular to actual middle school girls or younger.
