IS makoto Shinkai the true sucessor of Miyazaki?
>>151567934
No, that would be Hosoda.
Also The Garden of Words is the best Shinkai movie.

>>151568760
No, it's Anno.
>>151567934
There is no successor to Miyazaki, he will never be succeeded, and I think anyone trying to claim otherwise would be retarded.
>>151567934
Hell no.
>>151567934
Not really, no.
I think Shinkai is a fine director, probably the best in the industry right now, but he's no successor to Miyazaki.
>>151567934
Anon thinks someone can transcend Miyazaki.

>Princess Mononoke was released theatrically in Japan on July 12, 1997.[35] The film was extremely successful in Japan and with both anime fans and arthouse moviegoers in English-speaking countries. Miramax Films, then a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company, purchased the film's distribution rights for North America. Miyazaki met with Harvey Weinstein, Miramax's chairman; Weinstein demanded that edits should be made to Princess Mononoke.[36] In response, Toshio Suzuki sent Weinstein a katana with a message stating "No cuts."[36]
Would shinkai have the balls to do this?
Miyazaki is a hack.
>>151567934
You thinking that is an insult to life itself.

This is even funnier with the recent reveal that Suzuki has connections to the yakuza.

>recent reveal that Suzuki has connections to the yakuza.
Explain?
>>151567934
I actually never watched a Miyazaki anime, Shinkai's neither.
I feel movies are bad, honestly I just feel them way too rushed all the time, can't be bothered to watch them.
