Can Ribbon make Kitauji great again?
It is time to cry, my friends.
Is Chad the most underappreciated characters in the whole series?
What was the highlight of the season? Was it Buchou's badass sax solo?
It made me realise she pretty much only serves a role in the show as an administrator for the band and it barely even represented her as a musician up to that point. Before that I'm not even sure if, had I been asked, I could say for certain which instrument she played
Yes. Once new first years join she`ll be the key character. She`ll go through character development, cutting off her
ribbons, mature and become a cool beuty - supported in her efforts by Natsuki, who will braid her hair and do the management work in the club, while Ribbons inspire the newcommers.
Soon she`ll have own first year following her and calling her Onee-sama, as well she`ll have to kick Reina from the club for being toxic and have Kumiko be replaced as Euphonium, since some new club member is better than her.
>Buchou's badass sax solo?
Definitely one of the high points.
The scene with Asuka and Kumiko on the river was pretty good too.
In hindsight, that arc felt completely pointless. As if they chose a random background character and wasted 3 episodes on some dumb side plot that has absolutely no connection to any of the main characters.
>1st year quartet <<<<< 3rd year trio
God, I need OVA for this best group.
This is why IMO a new season without Asuka just isn't the same. She was smart and perseptive. She almos read everyone like a book to a degree. Only one close to being like her was Kumiko. That's why a new MC should be in place. If there is no one as conniving and poker faced as Asuka, Kumiko alone just won't cut it.
Except that is wrong? The drama between first and 2nd years was the core conflict hinted in season one and this ark was resolution of it - telling us what and how actually happened, and concluding it. Its fine for Mizore`s personal drama, as well for understanding the events that lead club to state it was in S1, including Asuka story and others.
It did end with a pairing, pic related. Also with hearbreak since 3rd year was rejected by female teacher as well yuri Otaku couple being separated.
Oh, you meant Kumiko, Reina and Shoe? None of them mattered. It was about Asuka all along.
I hate all the yuribait involving Reina. It makes me hate Reina too since S1.
Thank God, Kumiko is end up with Asuka in the anime version. At least Asuka is indeed closer to Kumiko in the novel too. Also, Hibike Euphonium's story is about Kumiko & Asuka anyway.
Kumiko and Shoe? It's implied but you'll see people calling "didn't happen" or whatever. So I guess it's up to interpretation if you prefer to call it that.
The Asuka thing is Kumiko and Asuka becoming friends now that Kumiko has appreciated all the time she spent together with her, tells her she loves her, and Asuka acts like a cool senpai and that's it.
I thought those 3rd years were a couple since the beginning.
>3rd year was rejected by female teacher
Is that real or not? I thought it was just me being silly thinking that the 3rd year confessed to the teach, NOICE if true.
Otaku friends was sweet.
In what universe has Reina any chance to get with Taki? She's a high-schooler and he's her teacher. She's like 15. Unless Japan functions differently in this regard, Taki would commit career suicide in getting with one of his students of that age. She should be smart enough to notice this, as should Kumiko.
If they'd managed to integrate Mizore and Nozomi into the plots that followed their arc, then at least their characters would have felt like they held some value. Instead they just had occasional token scenes that weren't connected to anything.
>Is that real or not? I thought it was just me being silly thinking that the 3rd year confessed to the teach, NOICE if true.
Of course it isn't, he likes the glass girl in the third year.
I liked the Asuka and Kumiko confrontation, as Kumiko was forced to break out of her mask and deal with her feelings about her sister and Asuka.
Animation wise I loved their performance at the regionals.
>In what universe has Reina any chance to get with Taki?
This. The characters have no focus before or after the arc; they exist solely as a contrivance of the writer to explain and resolve the band's history. That's incredibly shallow writing.
At least they're helping with the birth rate.
In Hibike universe. Reina is dedicated to wait to graduate and persuit him after the school. Not sure why would Taki go for it though. She`d have to put serious effort seducing him properly.
I mean I can only speak from my point of view as a westerner, but even then this would be highly frowned upon, no? One of my high school teachers actually married one of his former students, so I guess it can be done. People always talked about it though.
Also, regardless of their relationship, that's still like a 15 year age gap and that's not easy to ship around in any relationship.
This whole scene was definitely one of the highest points.
>Not sure why would Taki go for it though. She`d have to put serious effort seducing him properly.
Well Taki did give her his wife's music and said "I think it would be perfect for you". Taki might just be getting rid of his wife's stuff, and Reina at that time just thought he was just giving her some music he had on him, but it's difficult to ignore the potential for that to be seen as the show pointing out how it has some symbolic meaning to it.
>cymbal-chan and red ribbon
Why was the pottery in this show so good
I don't think so, the way Reina spoke to him suggests they've at least met more times than the two flashbacks we were shown. I mean, otherwise he would have introduced himself, and they would have been more formal with each other.
Did Asuka really think that Kumiko hated her all the time?
I forgot he was graduating
his gf will miss him
So much best girl in one picture, holy shit.
Seems like everybody enjoyed watching Ribbons Private Life. What about Kaori?
Is Kumiko losing her attractiveness to Reina because now she doesn't hate everyone?
Is Reina losing her attractiveness to Kumiko because she thinks the "being special" thing is nonsense?
I felt like Reina doesn't like Kumiko that much any more.
Yeah, but I just noticed that she is graduating too.
>Also, regardless of their relationship, that's still like a 15 year age gap and that's not easy to ship around in any relationship.
Since when does Reina ever took the EASY path?
She plays the Trumpet; she will get what she wants or die trying.
No wrappings anymore?
Or is she Matsuzaki Youko? Damn
I like this even more than pic related
>Why was the pottery in this show so good
There was quite a lot of it.
I just noticed that Ueda was crying. Fuck. ;_;
What if Kumiko and Reina fight for some reason in an eventual new novel (and S3), and Reina becomes some kind of antagonist, like Anakin Skywalker, who transitioned from light to darkness.
And just near the end they reconcilate just to win the gold in the nationals.
She used to won gold all the time in her previous school so this looks like a major blow to her not-shown ego
>You just made this image because people posted about this last thread..
I posted about it last thread. You think each thread has a fresh set of posters?
I accompanied my post in that thread with a picture that had screenshots from ep 9 and 11, but the pottery became even clearer in ep 13 so I made a new image to show it. What's wrong about that?
I love her hair
I know this is really common in not just anime but in movies/shows as well but it always bothers me when people "don't need something anymore" and just give it away. Where's the sentimentality? Or is it because it hurts to have it around so they have to give it away? I also get that they always do it to encourage the younger person they're giving it to but it still bothers me. What if they miss it 20 years from now?
They are when they are constructed as bait.
Your post was equivalent of saying "it's shit" without explaining why it's shit and leaving. How else would you describe if not as bait?
I'm not really knowledgeable in brass instruments, is trumpet considered comparatively hard? I always imagined trombones and trumpets to be easy and things like baritones or tubas harder.
Taki's definitely getting rid of it because it brings back painful memories. It's a thing people often instinctively do while grieving.
Asuka's getting rid of it because she doesn't need it. Wanting to be acknowledged by her absent father was the driving force of her reason to even be in the band. It's a goal she's now achieved, now she can move on and play the euphonium for herself, assuming she doesn't just drop it entirely when she goes on to college.
>damn they really got good
What was he thinking?
What is the hidden meaning behind this shot?
From what I've seen in reddit threads, the normies just perceive it as "that silly yuribait anime that goes nowhere". And on the tumblr side of things, people are just complaining about "queerbaiting".
>not even a single shot of her in the last ep
You must be feeling pretty dumb right now.
Finally finished screencapping EP 13. So, how's your Hibike folder, /a/?
Does Hazuki deserve the Shoe?
I waited till it ended to marathon it, so I have no S2 pics from the threads. And I didn't take any screenshots either. Hopefully I can pick up some rare Kumikos I missed in the threads to come.
x Does Hazuki deserve the Shoe?
o Does Shoe deserve Hazuki?
Who deserves her?
I just wanted something more than what we all knew was coming, and I don't mean via spoilers, I mean the ending between Kumiko and Asuka was already telegraphed to us. The other characters barely had any time to reflect on the events of the show, it was an odd decision to take up the time that could have been dedicated to that with just a literal replaying of past events
She's still the same character. She just doesn't have any big magical scenes (after the fireworks scene) because Kumiko got sidetracked. They'll be back to normal now that they're getting over Taki and Asuka.
She was totally awesome hitting those plates.
Ribbon is too emotional and biased to lead Kitauji, She'll run that place into failing for nationals.
The only correct choice.
and it was going to happen but Asuka wanted to epik "troll" (according to CR) the club
>it was going to happen
Was it? And I know that Natsuki made it as Vice but is it really okay for a person in leadership to not be in the main band? Or should we assume that they'll make it next audition?
>tfw no more Seal-chan,Lipstick-chan,Glasses-chan & her lover Eyeless-chan.
Ribbons will ruin the band. She couldn't handle Buchou and dealing with the problems. She needs to kick Reina out or something also because soon as a first year talks to Taki or mentions him she'll go full yandere on them.
Anyone else sick of series with the main characters of the story actually being side characters with a tiny fraction of screen time? Like holy shit CHUBA did literally nothing this season but had almost as much camera time as Asuka.
Except that she is in the main band now.
They need to do auditions first. She was going to replace Asuka only because she was better than nothing. Just like Asuka said first season there could be some really great first years that will take the spot instead of the seniors.
So is Lipstick-chan going to become a beautician now?
reminder that Knuckles is the true hero of Hibike
I mean they already had her conduct the band. And if Nozomi is president, she can convince all of the third years to come back one by one in extremely convoluted ways such as painting a white rubicks cube
Has there ever been a more irrelevant, ugly, side character in a Kyoani show before?
his name is 名来 (Narai). If you separate the two kanji and read them individually, it becomes Na-kuru, Knuckles.
Shut up, tuba girl did nothing wrong.
>1st year and 3rd year
>they'll never be reunited
I didnt ask for this tragedy
Don't worry anon. They love each other deeply and wouldn't let some distance break their bond. They'll be calling each other whenever they can and when possible they'll move in together so they can always be together. Have faith in their love!
>glasses become transparent when she takes them off
Mikuru is too moe for her own good.
The noises she makes are hilarious though.
>Gotou and Riko are dating
>Gotou's oneechan is THICC
>Riko is also THICC
This might be from marathoning through the last few JoJo episodes right now, but something about the similar poses of the teacher and the girl next to her makes her look like her stand.
No more buchou forever and ever.
That moment when your shirt hikes up a bit and you get a blast of cold winter air on your tummy
May Asuka enjoy the rest of her life
My thoughts exactly.
Taki will be missing this face
They are all Yuuko's friend. With Yuuko as president, these girls will automatically support her and doing "what they will do if they are president?" for Yuuko.
Only a handful number of girls could score BASED Noguchi.
>stop being so fucking autistic reina reeee
>no Hibike next week
I guess I can watch my backlog
will Natsuki be a good vice president? The old president was just a figurehead anyway
I was gonna say I think she would be a good president.
Over Ribbons at least.
what did Kyoani mean by this frame?
Let it go, man.
She won, stop whining.
Kumiko really beautiful here
REMINDER that they didn't show the fagotts on EP1 and neither later here on last EP.
and i will never forgive them
whatever happened to them?
you now remember how fantastic EP5 was
also episode of the year
if Hibike ended, does that mean that all the Hibikes are now dead?
Yeah, I shouldn't have re watched it. That is too much.
I can't even
>also episode of the year
that's not episode 10 of sweaty ping pong
will we ever find out why Midori daisuki curry?
what can go wrong?
they can accomplish anything when they agree on something
I don't want to accept that there will be no more of my beautiful Kaori.
We are definitely going to get a movie.
Imagine how amazing it would be to have Kaori sit on your face while eating those hot sweet potatoes. And she's so motherly I bet she naturally produces milk that you should squeeze and drink.
it's the one where ribbons and natsuki kill gotou
More like their arc was a stop gap measure Takeda made after she was told to write more after novel 1. She eventually got her groove back in novel 3. Also KyoAni condensed Novel 2 so much that they cut the whole point of how liking/disliking competition is relevant to Nozomi/Mizore
What are the chances we get a season 3?
I know its
0%but please make me feel better.
S2 had several great feet scenes. Not so much in S1, even though it was advertised with this infamous image.
