CG anime character models always look like shit. that sort of art and animation should only be used for objects and maybe some backgrounds. the characters themselves should always stay 2D or you'll end up getting garbage like Ajin or New Berserk.

Considering it was made in 2002, the CGI was actually really good for the time. CGI ages like milk though.

production ig is easily the worst anime studio of all time. single handily ruined ghost in the shell and cyborg 009 with their 3DCG bullshit. desolated settings that completely lack life. ugly looking characters. clunky as shit animation. it really is pathetic. I don't understand why Jap fans dont tell them to fuck off and quit with their bullshit

That's not true. CG can look amazing. It can looks so good its stops looking like uncanny valley and starts looking real. The problem is that for CG to look good you need to put a LOT of money and resources into it and the only projects willing to do that are movies and Video games. Just take the FFXV movie Kingsglaive for example. It's all CG yet looks amazing.

I can still remember the apprehension I felt when first watching it and that's the first thing you see. Thankfully those were the only CG characters, at least the mechs looked good in CG (or so I remember).

This was back when 3DCGI was new and exciting, and it definitely looked better than the average (aka not FFX) videogame cutscene of the time
