Is that one of the Beetle Tendency chapters? That was actually around when I caught up to JJL so despite being completely fucking ridiculous in a good way and personifying all the best things in the series it also holds a special place in my heart as the first arc I read as it released. And it actually got me into beetle fighting, which is just as awesome in real life even without the Stands.

Currently watching part 3 for the first time. Stands are cool and all but the whole monster of the week format is wearing me down. It sucks that Jotaro and the gang must be screwed over by a random stand every episode. Does it change?

Nah but it's only really bad in 3. 1 and 2 were still monster of the week they were just much shorter so it doesn't feel as grating. 4 onwards manages to balance the monster of the week elements better, so despite being longer than 3 they feel closer to 1 and 2 in how they flow.

I enjoyed Stardust Crusaders, and some of the fights were pretty cool, but most of it just felt like filler and season extensions.
