Some people learn faster than others, but yeah. It takes a while to get any good at it. Eventually though, you'll actually start to sound good and you'll be happy to have picked up the instrument in the first place. If you don't try, maybe you'll really regret it 10 years from now.

At the very least you could rent a instrument and take some lessons. If it doesn't end up working out you can at least not regret never trying in the long run.

It's the only 10/10 I've seen this year, and the only 10/10 Kyoani (Haruhi is 9/10, Nichijou is 8/10, and everything else is 6/10 or lower).

I mostly just loved S1 because I was really into Kumirei, but I found S2 to be extremely emotional. Just really powerful drama that was executed beautifully. I was literally shaking, heart pounding and on the verge of tears in almost every episode.

Will they ever recover?

What a great ending to a great anime. Shame, Shuuichi and Reina lost the Oumae-bowl

S2 was definitely inferior to S1, but not bad. The beginning was vexing, but it did get better.

That being said, it's a shame Shuuichi didn't get developed at all. Even if not romantic, I did expect him to get a bit more of focus.
Asuka did get a lot more of screen time, she became a much better character. However, as far as improvement goes, no one can beat Ribbons.
Kumiko was pretty much the same, since she's always been the most developed character.

The worst thing from S2 is Reina's character. It got completely annihilated. She went from one of the best things from S1, to nearly complete horeshit in S2. Reducing her character to her childish feelings for Taki completely destroyed her.

I enjoyed most of this season. Episode 9 and 10 are par with S1 with the train crying scene being maybe the most emotional moment of the show.

But god damn this show fail at the end. Ep 11 focused on a plot line that no one cared about. 12 was twenty minutes of missed opportunities (final ensemble together, Asuka and her father, Kumiko and her sister). 13 was basically a glorified recap episode with a confession at the end. I found myself speeding most of the episode just to get over with.

The jazz piece (PV song) was fucking neat. Dat Kaori fast descendant scale, near the end, shitted on anything played by Reina so far.
I'd have loved if they'd done more of that through the series.

Well, I won't lie, I will miss this show. It left me with that annoying void in the chest when I saw Asuka leaving, and Kumiko read the Sound! Euphonium title.

Also the musical piece in the credits... As a musician, the more music, the more I get emotionally invested. Well this final episode was perfect to me. Hibike is described as a musical anime, but to me it lacked in that department, so I liked at least they done this for the final episode.

I don't think I want to see more of this. It's a pretty satisfactory ending for me.

I read an interview with the author of the novels wherein she said that she wanted to write a story where 'fellowship' was above 'romance' so I tend to agree with this.

I got the impression that Kumiko is drawn to talented and "special" people. The author said that Shuichi was the special person before Reina showed up. And then I presume Asuka became an equally special person in her eyes as the novels progressed.

Yeah thats the main feeling I get, which I really respect. True friendship is really hard to find, especially people who share same goals and interests and who push you forward to those goals. The entire dynamic they had basically saved season 2 for me.

She also said in an interview that she feels like she has written all she can about this series, but also that if she ever does revisit it that she wants to be careful and do it justice.

I don't think there are any plans for the immediate future. She said she wants to work on other stuff.

I liked the truly open ending with Shoe and Kumiko. Other anime make it clear that the two like each other, but I can't really discern their feelings here. Is Shoe over Kumiko? Has he given up just when Kumiko is showing some kind of interest? Kumiko looked somewhat disappointed when Shoe denied spreading rumors.

Was kind of weird how hard the show veered from being focusing on Reina so much in s1 to largely ignoring her in s2, and how a lot of unresolved Reina stuff was just kind of ignored.

But I got so see Kumiko throw a daisuki at Asuka, so fuck it. Good enough for me.
