I felt the same. It was great up until the point where the story climbed up its own ass with its 1st year university level philosophy and psychology

I really liked the first three episodes, but the introduction of the metaphysical elements really let me down. I wish it had stayed more 'Perfect Blue' -- like a psychological thriller -- but it turned out to be more 'Paprika.'

That simple yet accurate description makes me wanna rewatch it.

My favorite Kon work next to Tokyo Godfathers. I enjoyed the last part. Good humor and interesting questions it posed. Ending was a little unclear but overall an amazing anime.
