It sounds like it will flop, that's my impression. It's like Kino, which also flopped. If they make a profit, it won't be much. There isn't even a wide cast of characters to make figurines and dakimakuras of, so they can't even make money by pandering to waifufags. Will at most sell around 6000, likely less. And it's the type of anime that will primarily get its money from disc sales.
This is a high risk low reward project for Kyoani. Unless they want to make an attempt at attracting good writers ny treating it well, they should make it as cheaply as possible with the bare minimum of animation.

If you compare the number of KA on both those shows to Nichijou, Nichijou comes out on top. The only comparable show is Dennou Coil. You kinda need simple designs like Nichijou or Dennou Coil to be able to draw as much as they did.

I wonder if they plan on adapting volume 2. I mean, they could make the anime it's own thing like with Kyoukai no Kanata and Phantom World, Kyoukai no Kanata didn't have cat girl, Sakura and the shop owner nor did it really have Izune or Yui and Phantom World was nothing like the anime, Ruru didn't exist nor did the little girl. Reina was more attracted to Haru than Mai and Haru himself was far more perverted. The beach girls didn't exist either. Then again, they seem to be taking Evergarden seriously like Hibiki so there probably won't be any filler characters or a completely changed plot
