It's dumb fun, but not much beyond that. Characters being mostly Japanese seems weak at first, but the interactions between the characters that know of each other makes up for it and that wouldn't be as easy to do with characters from everywhere in history. The only edgy thing that bothered me was the elf rape but it's such a dark fantasy standard that it's hard to get annoyed at a particular piece for doing it.

I'm fine with him using mostly Japanese characters as main characters instead of falling back on well known history characters. It makes sense to use the history of your own country and at least you can do something new even though Nobunaga is very recurrent in anime/videogames.

There was no way they could have come to any sort of conclusion within 1 cour, so if they hadn't gotten a second one this would have been a really fucked show.

I thought it was thoroughly ok in the end, having watched it on a weekly basis all the way through.
