From her perspective he literally met her at the warehouse just before Elsa attacked, shielded her in the heat of the moment and may've been a thief or spy trying to steal her emblem. She wasn't even sure why he decided to work at the mansion or broke down crying on his second day, and the mabeast incident wasn't even specific to her nor was she present (and Roswaal did all the work once he showed up, his most significant contribution was something personal to Rem). Subaru's loyalty made no real sense to her since it's out of context and it certainly didn't excuse his actions.

If he were truly loyal he could have listened to his waifus and stay put for a couple of hours when asked to. Or not get separated from her by wandering off. And let's not forget he almost died by falling out of the carriage and that's why Emilia was holding his hands. He had a clear three strikes here.

I've always thought that she might go with something more Crusch style. In the AU, she's just insecure and thinks she was the consolation prize. In the MU, her reason for having hair like Ram is because she wants to be more like the people she admires, and that was mostly just Ram. She always did. Faster than Rem to trust him when he isn't being retarded. Ram just likes to tease him and it can be tricky to tell if she's truly criticizing Barusu or not. In fact, her trust is what prevents Rem from attacking in the mansion arc. He earned her distrust in the second loop by avoiding work (wanted to repeat the same flags by pretending to be as inexperienced as he was last time) and knowing the mansion layout too well. Then there was the loop where he stole and spied on them as a guest. That's self explanatory. In the first and last loops she reports to Roswaal that even though he's shit at his job she feels he's worth keeping and teaching. She does like him in her own Ramlike way. There's also three chapters that lead into arc 3 and tons of sidestories that feature Subaru and the maids.

She was also supportive of Rem pursuing Subaru by the beginning of arc 3, if a little tsun about. But this is mainly to support Rem finally having something for herself rather than liking them as a couple.

Unfortunately, things get tense after arc 3 due to her Stockholm syndrome with the clown and the two bicker over Rem ever since she went comatose, but they also bond over it. They're like a brother and sister pair who only seem to show they care for one another at the most dire moments.

Also, I think people have mentioned that it really is something they do in the WN. Seeing as how normal people can't smell miasma coming off of people, and teleportation is impossible for most, I think something must have changed those Witch Cultists into something not entirely human. From the descriptions I read, they really don't speak the same language as everyone else either.
