Where are the chapter 8 rips? and goblin slayer thread.
This bait is so bad that it actually made me answer, 8/10.
>leaving gobs alive under any circumstance.
Strange that why would they're attracted to the ape like us?
Why GS is so angry?
If cow girl gets greened the rage from slayer will be immeasurable
Reminder that Goblin Slayer is a light novel, not an erotic novel. Three volumes in, and not a single main character has gotten raped.
Additional reminder that their entire world was created as a board game to settle a battle between gods of light and dark. The Priestess is a character the goddess rolled and Goblin Slayer is an NPC immune to rolls performed by goblins.
They targeted her farm, the raid fails. Goblin Slayer kills their Goblin Lord.
It's a light novel, anon. He already has a harem. Guild Girl, Cow Girl, Priestess, High Elf Ranger, Wannabe-Paladin Knight, and a High Priestess of some sort. It is already cookie cutter.
Yes, they use any humanoid being as breeding slaves. They're an all-male race, it's magic. There's no need for an explanation past that.
Half-breeds can be different alignments outside of one of the evils. A half-Goblin would probably go Goblin Slayer when they turn old enough.
>Is it confirmed they breed with humans?
Yes it is confirmed in the LN.
Girls who get pregnant by gobs, when rescued, will be brought to shrines for abortion.
>How come none of the goblins have human traits though?
No scientific explanation. You can assume that Goblin's gene is dominant.
His name is Reality. He's the Dungeon Master to this game, and Fantasy is the Player. Although the beings down below don't seem to know about this game, or even the gods' true names, they still pray. Remember, Fantasy is the one that decides what spells Priestess learns.
The last demon lord spawned ten years before the present time in the current chapter. That demon lord is dead.
A new demon lord spawned and is preparing his army. In a month, he will be killed offscreen by the Goddess's new character.
The Goblin Slayer is outright stated to not be the hero of this story. An insignificant pawn you could find anywhere. He won't change anything in the bigger picture of things.
Yet, it's stated that whenever he's around, the gods are unable to roll. It's assumed the build and stats of this NPC are so high, even if a goblin rolls a natural 20, it will do no damage. Hence the title's catch phrase, "He does not let them roll the die".
It is. Yet it's not. The gods roll dice to "influence" and "guide" people like playthings.
Now the question on everyones mind. Is Gobby autistic or just really dedicated to revenge?
Oh. So then I assume the MC is the priestess girl. So then what's the point of everything if GS will not change anything in the bigger picture?
The manga was a lot more interesting before I found this out. Now it's just pointless since nothing that happens matters
If I recall correctly, the surge in number of goblins is the god's doing.
I believe that at one point GS will confront gods himself to cut down the source of gobs.
He will definitely fuck everything up.
Autistic. We already know he's autistic. He doesn't even realize he's shit at conversation.
No, Goblin Slayer is the Main Character. He's still an NPC. The point is, that he's almost completely uninvolved in the battle between gods of light or dark. He won't ever gain super powers, or a cheat ability from god. He's just a normal (albeit broken) person.
The story is about Goblin Slayer, who is an NPC in this board game. The real plot is happening with the "Hero", but THIS story focuses on Goblin Slayer's life.
>I believe that at one point GS will confront gods himself to cut down the source of gobs.
Wait, so if the gods are playing a "tabletop" game, and GS is part of the game, how does he confront the gods? Does he break the 4th wall or something and fight them?
>The real plot is happening with the "Hero"
Alright, I get what you're saying. So then who's the hero? And how will an NPC deal with the player!gods, if its not even the MC?
What do the light and dark gods gain from winning? Is something on the line, or is it just a game they're playing for shits and giggles?
It is still a real world, with living people. The gods are simply able to influence people by rolling dice.
>how will an NPC deal with the player!gods, if its not even the MC?
He doesn't. It's simply that his presence interrupts their board game. So much, they had to restart their game and begin in a town far away from him. The GM can't stop using goblins, so it's impossible for goblin slayer to not intervene.
His stats are so high tier in Anti-Goblin priorities, it overrides the need to roll dice to defend or confirm kills. He simply succeeds in all actions against goblins.
>His stats are so high tier in Anti-Goblin priorities, it overrides the need to roll dice to defend or confirm kills. He simply succeeds in all actions against goblins.
This is fucking great.
I actually made up that rumor. It seems so very plausible, since he interrupted the priestess's party wipe, and then only A FEW DAYS before the scouts were sniffed out, the demonlord had already been killed.
Author admits to playing DnD and other pen and paper roleplaying games for over ten years, and it took him two years to actually write this one.
Alright, so let me get this straight:
-There's two separate but correlated plotlines - the light/dark gods and the GS story
-light god is the "good guy", who's PC is the priestess
-dark god is the GM and "bad guy" that literally spams goblins and only goblins
-in the GS story, which is merely a game and nobody actually exists, GS himself is an NPC
-his NPC stats are so fucking broken, it stacks the game against the GM/dark god and in light gods favor
-GS will ALWAYS beat the goblins, so in GS world, anyone with him is close to being immune/safe
Am I getting this right? Am I leaving anything out/missing something
So that begs the question, why are we so invested in the GS story if the true plot is the DnD match between the gods? Why dont we see it from their perspective like we see yugioh duels, for example?
Adding to this, one anon mention GS at one point fights the gods. How does he gain this awareness if he's a mere game character, that too an NPC? How does the break the 4th wall to confront the gods?
>calling the truth "bait"
Lol. I'm not falling for it. Dungeon Seeker is 1000 times better than goblin slayer because it actually has character development. Takeda meets new people, kills cool monsters, and gets stronger. What the fuck does goblin slayer do? Kill the same lvl 1 scrubs over and over. Oh wow, he bashes in the heads of baby goblins. So edgy. I can't wait to see the Breaking Benjamin AMVs that come out of that when they adapt it into anime.
Their world is a real world. They aren't inanimate objects written on paper.
To the Goddess, she rolled Priestess. Her dice rolls have determined her stat growth, but not mind controlled her from birth, merely guidance. The Goddess also has another character.
To both players, Reality and Fantasy, Goblin Slayer is an NPC, but he's a real person suffering the consequences of the GM's favoritism to goblins.
After that, I believe you to be correct.
He doesn't, and you guys are taking this waaaaay out of context/putting the cart before the horse
There are some cute side chapters that, if you are a DnD player, will make you say 'aha! I get it, thats fun' before continuing on to the story of a man hellbent on killing goblins after being traumatized by them as a child and his new party that wants to help him gain some sanity/thinks he deserves better
It's utterly inconsequential outside of lore or providing a nod to DnD. The story wholly functions without it. It's just some worldbuilding done in a clever way that doesn't impact how you perceive the characters' motivations or circumstances.
It's a series about a lvl1 scrub, with scrub gear, who is obsessed with killing goblins. It's the new meme series, just like Grimgar, because /a/ really likes fighting goblins.
I didn't call it shit, because I thought that went without saying.
>To the Goddess, she rolled Priestess. Her dice rolls have determined her stat growth, but not mind controlled her from birth, merely guidance
Ok, so essentially the Goddess has possessed the priestess but not controlling her actual thoughts, just influences her directions
>The Goddess also has another character
And who's that?
Also what's the significance of the farmgirl who likes GS?
If the GM wins instead of the Goddess, what are the consequences? What if the Goddess wins?
>Ok, so essentially the Goddess has possessed the priestess but not controlling her actual thoughts, just influences her directions
Yes. You could say it was the goddess passing checks that made Priestess hear the goblins preparing to ambush her first party. At the same time, you could say her fumbles prevented that party from taking any actions to prevent what was coming.
>And who's that?
The hero. It took the Goddess 30 days or so to kill a demonlord with that character alone.
Goblin Slayers parents are dead. The one that takes care of him is his sister. As a kid, he says he wants to become an adventurer. Cow Girl scolds him, saying that if he leaves, who would protect his sister. They argue, cowgirl visits her uncle, and then when she returns the next day, the surviving villagers are burying the dead.
>If the GM wins instead of the Goddess, what are the consequences? What if the Goddess wins?
They play another game. If only for a moment, the Goddess guarantees the world's peace. Their game is supposed to be a match that decides the which faction rules the universe. However, when the winner is decided is unknown. Gods are ageless, we may never know. It's not actually important.
Ok, thanks for clarifying
Still no idea who this is. Apparently it's not the priestess
So if the Goddess wins and they get world peace, that would mean the goblins would leave only to return again?
Kek, what a shit world
The hero is the Hero. JRPGs are predominant with characters whose class is "Hero". I'm surprised you didn't get this reference.
It doesn't. Not for any main characters, anyway.
>priestess wants ti make him more sociable
>Elf girl wants to show him a real adventure
>GG wants him to be proud if his rank
>CG only wants to say sorry
That is pretty much what his "personal therapy group" wants to do?
>No scientific explanation. You can assume that Goblin's gene is dominant.
>tfw your genes are recessive
Not really, anons here are really over-emphasizing the whole DnD aspect of the story.
I'll explain in more detail.
'Fantasy' is the god responsible for all the good things that happen in the world, every miracle, every predestined hero who shows up with prodigious levels of talent and power. Basically everything "Fantastical" and "Miraculous" is her doing.
Reality is the god in control of basically everything else, he's literally the god of reality itself. As his deal is cold, hard reality he quite enjoys messing up Fantasy's miracles and heroes, bringing everything crashing back down to what should realistically happen within the context of the world.
It is worth mentioning that neither of these gods can directly intervene in the world. They merely "Roll the dice" to determine the outcomes of the innumerable factors in a given situation that are influenced by chance.
Priestess was originally one of Fantasy's heroes, however she was essentially a failure, Reality intervened to ruin her destined rise as a hero.
Goblin Slayer is an ordinary human, however he's a human who is so unbelievably careful, who puts so much effort into preparation and caution that he doesn't allow either of the gods to intervene in his actions. He's simply too focused, too careful, too prepared, they can't influence his destiny at all. He just doesn't leave anything to chance so they can't influence him.
Goblin Slayer intervened AFTER Reality had set the Priestess on a course that would lead to her death (through a chance encounter with that careless party and a number of other 'rolls' going badly for Fantasy). Basically Priestess was supposed to die, but Goblin Slayer saved her because he isn't influenced by destiny, however Fantasy abandoned her anyway at this point, since her teaming up with GS means that controlling her destiny and guiding her to become a hero would be all but impossible now. So she chose another hero who hasn't shown up in the manga yet.
She looks like a good heroine. It would be a shame if she only rolled 1's fighting some gobs and failed a couple psyker tests.
Goblin reproduction probably isn't sperm-egg fertilization as we know it such that genes would play a role. Gob gunk is probably a load of parasites which implant themselves into a humanoid's egg and overrides its genetic code to produce a "copy" of a goblin after forcing an accelerated pregnancy.
A particularly successful implantation where a significant amount of parasite reaches a single egg could force the zygote to split, resulting in monozygotic twins. This may help explain how goblins breed so quickly using the above model with only a small number of females to breed with.
Not really, he gets Priestess and Elf who are in his party and Guild Girl and Cow Girl who he knows but who stay at their homes and only interact with him when he goes there.
He also has dudes in his party and is too psychologically damaged to give any kind of shit about women right now so it's hard to refer it it as a harem.
Gobbo spunk probably has components in it that induce chimerism over the female's reproductive facilities, making them give birth to nothing but gobbos post-rape.
Would explain why rescued females get taken in by church to become nuns(ie so they won't try to reproduce afterwards)
Yes! Thanks for clearing all that up.
I guess the only real question now is if the series will have a "we defeated evil" conclusion, since the game seems to be infinite and always occurring. Or if the game continues to be a vicious and bleak cycle
>tfw you're a fucking failure in the eyes of your goddess
>Goblin Slayer is an ordinary human, however he's a human who is so unbelievably careful, who puts so much effort into preparation and caution that he doesn't allow either of the gods to intervene in his actions. He's simply too focused, too careful, too prepared, they can't influence his destiny at all. He just doesn't leave anything to chance so they can't influence him.
>mfw this shit series has a good cosmology and a character who is so meticulous that even the God's can't touch him.
This series is literally garbage, but man if this post isn't cool.
Someone made a pasta where all the chapter 1-2 characters were real D&D players that got fucked by the DM (and almost broke his action figurines collection with bats) and then the GS player arrives and fucks the DM with his insane preparations that didn't let him roll the dice.
Here. Now do us a solid and give us the card.
also give elf fuck I need elf so bad god fuck give elf
I have that pasta actually. I just usually look at the "doesn't let them roll the dice" as some admission that he's the DMNPC. The idea that everyone but him fails and the world seems tailored to his skillset is something I've experienced firsthand.
Honestly it's hard to describe the gods of the GS series in terms of good and evil, they're both very abstract in their behaviors and attitudes. Fantasy wants good things to happen in the world but she's not overly bothered when things don't work out because she can just try again. Reality meanwhile is just all about hammering home the fact that this is how a real world should work and that Fantasy's ideas of heroes and miracles are unrealistic and silly.
I mean I guess that Reality is kind of a dick and Fantasy is kind of a nice person but neither of them can really be described in terms of good and evil in my opinion.
"What is your purpose here? If you sought to live you had naught but run and hide yourself away. But then, tell me, child of man... what does it mean to live in truth? To wage war against the passing days? To pray to the unseen for a few breaths more? To raise grand cities from stone, and spawn new life in turn? Mankind has done this, yes, and more. But is the tapestry you weave truly of your own design? Their kind is easy to fathom, they go on living from simple fear of death. But not mankind. Some welcome the end with arms outstretched, while others come to face death incarnate, arms in hand. I ask again, what is your purpose here? One path to your survival, lies in my defeat. Still my heart, and you stay the coming end. Another path before you... is to offer up that which you hold most dear.
Abandon all delusions of control."
They are "above good and evil" but as a SMT player that is bullshit for me, i guess madoka would promise to stop playing with our fates if we ask her, but reality would fight.
>Few, only use to show that gibs are unforgivable scum
I'm sorry, but this is seeming less interesting by the minute. The insinuated haremshit is already kinda iffy. If you had to choose a selling point for this, what would it be? The thing that keeps you hooked and even willing to seek out others that are reading it for discussion/shitposts?
Fantasy is a goddess of the faction of Light and Order. Reality is in the Darkness and Chaos faction.
Fantasy actually feels bad when people die, but that's the rules. She's not allowed to get emotional on this.
I don't know what this is but Guild Girl is my favorite so good work whatever it is you're doing
Typically, the Hero is always the opposite side of the coin of the Demon King.
And sometimes, when you make a new character in Dungeons and Dragons, you luck out and make a character with stats so high, they can be any class they want.
This is a light novel, not an erotic novel.
It's aimed at teenagers still in school.
I understand, we just KILL THEM ALL.
>only 21 instances of the world 'Rape' in a GS thread
It's quite unlikely he'll ever even find out about the gods. Keep in mind his family died before Reality decided time to buff up my goblins, and he's not a hero so it's not a case of forcing him to have a tragic backstory.
I get reality having a strong alignment with chaos because you know reality is chaotic.( and also ordered at the same time)
But I can't imagine fantasy having anything to do with order.
The selling point is a man who isn't afraid to give death to his enemies without any of the edgelord shit that usually goes with it. Its so straightforward it might as well be satire.
There's a harem forming but it seems to exist beyond him, and if he recognizes it he will probably reject it. He lives for one thing, and one thing only. Murdering goblins.
>without any of the edgelord shit that usually goes with it
Except for the tragic, rape-infused backstory and his psychopathic obsession. He himself admits that he isn't a professional somewhere between chapter three and four.
Yep. Every day, we get someone asking for rape, and every time, I get to tell them that in the next 2 volumes, there is no rape. This is a light novel, not an erotic novel.
Another translation for Fantasy's name is "Illusion", apparently. But who cares?.
>If you had to choose a selling point for this, what would it be?
functional armor, actual medieval battle tactics
>poisoned because of feces blade
>die because you got hit on your unprotected head
>paranoid MC who won't take off his fucking armor
>uses weapons or dead enemies against remaining ones once they break or become useless
It's well written world building. I like the characters. I enjoy having a setting with realistic consequences established to add real weight and tension to the fate of characters, while I also am above the age of 16 so I don't get giddy and think the inclusion of rape in a story means it's going to be just like one of my ntr tortureporn doujins then complain for fifty fucking straight threads on /a/ that the 'only selling point is the goblin rape lol when is the guild girl gonna get gobbed haha'
>Another translation for Fantasy's name is "Illusion", apparently. But who cares?.
So there is no heaven and she's just a god of lies and the greatest scam artist? While the God that apparently hates us is the only one that will tell us the truth?
Sure, he has a reason, but it isn't dwelled upon in monologues or flashbacks in the midst of battle or whatever. He has a reason for doing what he does, and he does what he does to the best of his ability.
He is a extremely barebones character, but because of that he is unique in this climate of retards getting sent to generic fantasy world #27 because truck-sama said so
Fantasy is an Illusion.
Reality is real
Fantasy makes things that shouldn't be possible possible, she makes the illusion reality.
Reality doesn't like that because it's unrealistic. He doesn't hate anyone, he just wants things to play out realistically.
I like to imagine that the Goddess is making use of Priestess's affection for Goblin Slayer, and tries to convince the GM to allow her to perform out-of-character seduction attempts.
I'm half-joking, but honestly, I like the character development Goblin Slayer is slowly getting.
When Reality is trying to kill you, Fantasy looks beautiful, don't you think? Haven't you heard the phrase "Reality is a cruel mistress?" This entire setting is literally "Fantasy".
They're fighting for control over that world. The gods of light and order winning would be something most people in this story would desperately want.
So she's the "evil" of his world.
But sometimes fantasy can be all to evil. Sometimes you wish this horrible Fantastical nightmare would be over so you can wake up.
I can imagine and fantasize about horrible things happening to both you anons.
But in reality it likely wouldn't happen
>but it isn't dwelled upon in monologues or flashbacks in the midst of battle or whatever
That's execution, not him being or not-being an edgelord. He ultimately comes off as selfish, because he only cares about killing goblins to satisfy his own lust for revenge. He could be entirely professional about, doing it because he sees the opportunity of a market niche, he could do it for humanitarian reasons, seeing these villagers neglected and open to goblin attacks. Hell, there is even the missed opportunity to write a story about someone hunting goblins because he sees himself as weak and cowardly.
>Vol.4 next month with a drama CD (about Priestess and Elf searching for a scroll in ruins that were supposedly a library during the Age of Gods). The volume itself is a collection of short stories: Heavy Warrior, Lancer and GS teaming up for a quest in the Demon's Tower; Cow Girl chilling out with Priestess; Elf playing a Holy Knight at Guild Girl's suggestion; and Elf, Dwarf and Lizard's adventure before they met GS.
and some more
Some side chapters in LNv1 are from the POV of seemingly random adventurers, but I'll always look forward to more content.
It won't. This is a light novel, not an erotic novel. The author takes pride in DnD.
A perfect utopia where everybody obeys the laws and lives happily is a fantasy too.
But honestly, if the author believes fantasy to be an instrument of good, he can write it that way if he can see it somehow plausible.
Lets put it to a vote
Don't forget to search for "gobbed" too.
I guess it comes down to that then. I think a edgelord is defined by not what he is, but how he is presented.
For example, Guts is absolutely a edgelord by your terms, but I would say he just a character with a dark backstory because it was presented well. I'm not saying that GS is the equal of Guts, because he isn't by any metric, but he is presented in differently, and in a more realistic manner, than your typical LN isekai faggot protagonist
Read again. "Liked."
Theres a chapter where the gods see "him" appear on the "board". One gets annoyed and the other gets interested and they both watch to see how things play out.
>including OP Protection and support Sleep
So by playing dice they've come up with a way where they can compete with each other with equal odds without ever having to go into eternal struggle in a life-and-death ragnarok?
And whatever happens
"all is fair with the dice"
Fantasy purposely gave Priestess a Wall of Protection spell, fully knowing that Goblin Slayer would use it to seal people into rooms, or
use two to effectively sandwich, trap, and immobilize prey.
I want Goblin Slayer to fuck Fantasy's brains out.
No, they started having fun when they realized their chess pieces were sentient, and forgot about the war.
I mean you know she cannot be influenced by the 2d6 anymore now that she's with GS. But the goddess can still choose her miracles and stuff, right?
R:Remember the time THAT guy got #rekt by that ogre?
R:Well, your old character is trying to heal him
R:The healing ritual involves sex.
R:You just had sex with him, by proxy.
>yfw the resurrected Demon King is actually a goblin type Demon King
>yfw seeing the gods face
actually his skill-set allows him to fight most things. He's very well a high-ranking ranger class and weapons master.
He has a minimum adaptability to most things and when it comes to goblins.
It's not like he loses all personal skills when he's facing on goblins.
And besides that oger was a demon General anyway.
And wasn't it said before that he took out an Earth Dragon?
>Heading to kill Demon Lord alone
>Encounter Goblins who fled from her
>Leave them be while laughing at them being weak
>Defeat Demon Lord but also exhausted
Everyone around here knows what we're referring to when we say "isekai". You don't need to have a fit about it just because the literal definition of the word doesn't exactly match the meaning it has on 4chan.
Actually anon, it's really fucking unclear what exactly you mean when you say 'isekai' in this context since that isn't what the word means and there's no clear connotation in your statement to clarify what you're referring to.
How about you explain it to me you fucking retard, in clear, concise terms instead of vague, incorrect ones.
It is, but he's clearly dramatizing it for comedic effect.
R: The adventurers celebrate the goblin army's defeat. Goblin Slayer stares at a piece of gold, his reward for defeating the Goblin Lord, and presses it into your hands. "Your payment", he mutters, in the same, monotone voice, without turning to you. You stir, awakening from your slumber, exhausted from your journey. You realize your head had been resting upon his shoulders. The Priestess squeals in surprise, the sound muffled out by the drunken merrymaking in the guild hall. What do you do?
F: I roll for seduction.
R: What? He's Goblin Slayer. THE Goblin Slayer.
F: Did I fucking stutter?
R: Priestess does not have any bonuses in seduction.
F: So? I look to him with upturned eyes, and I roll for seduction.
R: He's wearing a helmet, he doesn't turn his head. He can't even see your expression from this angle. Priestess doesn't even have high charisma, this is why she's a doormat.
F: Damn it. Fine. Priestess gives words of encouragement to Goblin Slayer. She assures him that she'll always be there to help him. No, all of his friends will always be there to help. And the times after that, and after that too.
R: (Pause) Shit. He actually seems amused. "Is that so?" he mutters through his helmet.
F: Yes! Between GG and CG, I knew he had to be a lolicon!
R: Isn't that taking it a bit too far? She's just peti-
F: Priestess is fifteen. FIFTEEN. She's ripe. RIPE and READY. Filled to the brim with teenage hormones. Right, it's my turn. Priestess puffs out her chest and says, "Yes, it is." While I'm at it, yeah Yeah, this is the best chance. I have Priestess ask for a reward!
R: What. Shit, I mean, Goblin Slayer replies simply. "What reward?" (Dice roll) Shit.
F: What? Why did you roll dice?
R: I rolled for you. Priestess is literally praying to "you".
F: No way.
R: Yeah, she's praying to the Earth Mother and asking for courage.
F: Okay, and what did she roll?
R: Nat 20.
>Why do people keep talking about DMs/dice/etc.?
>This isn't an isekai in disguise is it?
Yes, it's isekai. Berserk isekai too. Any fantasy is isekai for (you). Now you can abandon thread and never go back.
F: I roll for seduction!
R: Please, give up with that already. I won't permit OOC actions. Priestess is nowhere near ready for this.
F: Fine. She asks him to show her his real face. She wants him to take off his helmet.
R: He does nothing.
F: What? What do you mean he does nothing? That was a 20. A natural 20!
R: I don't fucking play him, I just narrate.
F: For fuck's sake, Reality, you useless piece of shit.
R: Call me a useless piece of shit again and I swear, your next campaign will- ah.
F: Yeah? What? Bring it, I've got a hero.
R: Goblin Slayer sighed and then took off his helmet. His skin is pale; as expected of one who only took it off to sleep in the safety of his own room. Shit, he's got high charisma. It's a pretty face, but the autism penalty doesn't really affect this.
F: Who gives a shit, I roll for seduction. (Rolls)
R: Yeah, okay? Well, look at that. The die won't stop fucking rolling. How is this even possible? Your seduction roll has no effect. Oh, Priestess is complimenting his face. "You look braver this way,", she whispers, with reddened cheeks.
F: Why can't I just rape him?
R: Remember what I said about out of character actions? No.
F: The atmosphere is so good. I could get away with it without anybody noticing.
R: Umm, nope. High Elf Ranger's just noticed. She's coming this way while screaming about it at the top of his lungs.
F: This fucking cockblocking whore.
R: Yup, now everyone knows. The mood is pretty much unsalvageable. Everyone's coming over for a peak. Even Spearman.
>The atmosphere is so good. I could get away with it without anybody noticing.
She'll get him next time playing by GG and jerking him from under the counter in the middle of the working day at Guildhouse.
Tell me this is bait.
I don't want to believe someone that retarded and arrogant at the same time exist.
Isekai is a trope about transfer irl person in some form to another world, usually with magic.
It can be full body transfer, consciousness or game character.
Arguably "trapped in a game" is also isekai.
Fantasy when all characters are born in bred within the setting is not isekai, it's just a fantasy.
Not him, but
I know the series, but there is no priestess-chan one on sadpanda.
Is there madokami of porn I'm not aware of?
Nevermind >>151475675, never was a priestess-chan to begin with.
Anon, if experience tells me something.
The god rolling for goblins is in for a treat once GS is fully aware that it was his doing, he might not kill the god by himself but he is going to play a decisive role in fucking him.
Like having a hand in the birth of God Slayer
They CHOSE to set up a game with dice.
Also I think these two are actually greater-gods too. Since they're both are the heads of their faction and represent two greater aspects Beyond Good and Evil
>child bearing hips
>not gob bearing hips
But really - fortunately nips know better than to make scrawnies their poster girls.
It's been discussed here before, but the idea of an adventurer's guild in this implementation doesn't work. If they are just a glorified job board that's not what a guild actually is. There is no apprenticeships or training going on which ensures that low ranking members die by the handfull due to making rookie mistakes. This then leads to the problem the GG points out which is not having a large number of middle ranking members because people die too early to get better. Not to mention the guild can't control who takes what jobs at all (the state controls the gold/platinum rankers) so you have a situation where newbies can take on jobs they can't handle instead of the recommended rat removal in the sewers.
This guild is straight out of a video game which doesn't work in any "real world" context. If we're talking about fantasy vs reality, than this guild is pure Fantasy and she's making all her rolls because this organization shouldn't work.
Then you factor in how payments work. It should be local lords handling the payments since this society comes across as a feudal one. That ways you can't use a towns lack of funds to justify goblin extermination being so unappealing due to being cheap.
There are a couple more but sufficed to say, the problem with the guild is that nothing about it's organization and structure indicates it should actually work.
Anon mercenary guilds are a thing.
Thieves too: they come together to collaborate without really teaching each other secrets of their trade.
It's as you said: an employment agency for Adventurers.
They provide middleman services to the populace and mediate between adventurers and clients.
Most of the clients want the job done and adventurers can't be bothered to waste time on peasant' pleas.
They come into this line of work for action, not the paperwork and Guild just takes it off their hands for a little something as a payment.
They also provide convenient place for Adventurers to share info, rest and maintain their equipment albeit not for free.
They're also thinking about establishing training grounds for news as in LN vol1 end which would help not losing so many porcelains to gobs.
Are usually made of ex soldiers who were already trained by someone else and like any other guild they still train their members or at least condition them to fight how they wanted them to fight. Even now, PMC's (the new idea of a mercenary) have their own training camps for their soldiers because you don't just send someone into an armed conflict half cocked unless you are incompetent or want them to die.
do you just mean organized crime. Then yes, the experience bar on those kind of places is lower in some positions.
>They provide middleman services to the populace and mediate between adventurers and clients.
exactly the problem;their system is illogical. They do not properly utilize the adventurers which leads to low ranking people taking jobs that are above them until they can attrition it down. Leading to unnecessary deaths. The fact that they have no control over what jobs anyone takes means that they can have people just sitting around instead of handling jobs that are available. This includes non goblin jobs because this is supposed to be war time and these monster incursions are happening within the human borders not just at them.
And this really is a human only problem because the first sign of a large goblin force in Elf country and they asked the Fantasy U.N. to help. (this was also due to the fact that the elves couldn't mobilize an army to handle it without stressing the treaty. Which begs the question of whether or not the humans have the same problem)
Real guilds had training and a proper heirarchy of order which this guild lacks. To reiterate, this is a video game guild not a real guild. Video game guilds only make sense because the player needs a place to get jobs from.
>They're also thinking about establishing training grounds for news as in LN vol1 end which would help not losing so many porcelains to gobs.
After how many years of this practice of sending them to their deaths?
>wall of text
Ok-kay, calm down anon.
Pic exist for a reason.
>Explain yourself in 20 words or less!
Fuck off somewhere when your writer talent will be better appreciated then.
The fuck we would want to read your poems?
But-, but GS is not isekai though.
>cares to read and respond
You lost mate?
>implying only one person on this site finds some implementations of the adventurer's guild trope to be inappropriate in some settings
I don't even bother with any Isekai outside of Shield bro and Overlord. The genre has been shit since SOA got everyone on the MMO bandwagon harder than .hack did.
Are you new to image boards. There are always going to be pockets of discussion in a thread. Chains that only a couple people are replying too while other things are being said around it.
>are you new
>chain of replies for Chosen Ones
Sure, whatever you say l33t-kun.
That, 100% of the human realms army being occopied with the demons we haven't even seen so far and the the lords not caring about the peasants, the foundation of every pre-modern society, is it what makes me taking this world not serious.
>Read the whole
I did, just assumed he's an isekai threads only sort of plague and it will get him to fuck off faster.
Funny thing is I'm not even mad. Now the autists saying "fuck off" instead of just hiding my posts? That's what mad looks like.
Same, there are no local patrols or armed forces handling these internal problems aside from a loose group of "adventurers". What are the humans doing if they already have their JRPG hero-class fighting for them?
>lords caring about peasants
Nigga, most irl governments don't care about commoners more than they care about cattle.
Fuel for economy and industry.
At most they will gather and arm able cattle to defend herd they own from another army of armed cattle sent by other government.
Anons, who the fuck is supposed to feed all these people? Which sane feudal lord of the past thought to himself: "Let's just all starve to death, including us, who depends on these peasants too." You know, peasant revolts where a thing because of such shitty behavior and neglect of the lords duties.
>Anons, who the fuck is supposed to feed all these people? Which sane feudal lord of the past thought to himself: "Let's just all starve to death, including us, who depends on these peasants too."
You know, peasant revolts where a thing because of such shitty behavior and neglect of the lords duties.
>peasant revolts were a thing
Yes, the game is to walk the edge between keeping your profits up, expenditures down while keeping peasants level of discontent just below revolting.
This is how it works.
There are techniques that allow powerful ones to shove worse and worse conditions upon peasants without them revolting.
When a government fucks this up - revolts happen.
Are you ten or something?
Except on larger scale it works.
There is enough people to constantly go adventuring and become experienced adventures. Goblins usually threaten few villages and problem is dealt with rather quickly.
On scale what story shows it looks horrible and inefficient but on larger, national scale it works fine.
I'm not seeing the peasants revolting in this manga. They come begging to the adventurers guild instead.
>every ruler of the past was hellbent on making his subordinates suffer for a hardly defined "profit"
This isn't really adult talk, anon.
You seeing things atop in being ten?
Never said every lord does that.
You said yourself that
>peasant revolts were a thing
indicating that a portion of lords indeed were as I said they were.
Also look around now irl.
>Except on larger scale it works.
That seems to be the opposite of the truth. On a larger scale you are dealing with your typical JRPG hero and national armies. It works then because the proper level of experience and power are present.
Even the Fantasy U.N. had the right idea by only hiring a group of seasoned professionals to handle a goblin incursion. Which is appropriate for this type of job, it's an extermination not a training exercise.
>Goblins usually threaten few villages and problem is dealt with rather quickly
According to the Guild Girl there is a problem raising middle strength adventurers because of the Guild's practices. And Goblins alone result in a 75% mortality rate amongst members until either the problem snowballs out of control or they get it done. These type of events are rarely handled quickly or gracefully from what has been shown if GS isn't present.
I'm not saying that our past rulers were all holy men, but the fact that peasants revolted shows that usually their lords did their job somehow. In this manga the lords are absent and the manga makes it look like the peasants live in some unexplained free state, in which there is no excuse for them being so defenseless.
Who gives a shit, I roll for seduction. (Rolls)
Let me bitch about this manga if I want. What's the matter, can't handle an opposing opinion?
>fact that peasants revolted
>shows that usually their lords did their job somehow
You should go and re-read the whole thing.
Maybe then you will understand that only frontier villages are having low-tier monster problem.
Inland is safer enough to allow for constant influx of cocky arrogant teenage adventurers in search of thrill to the frontier.
Capital and major cities have their fare share of troubles but that involves higher level threats from Demon King army, not the gob infestation.
This is where the army is busy.
It is also a very shitty idea to move your troops along the borders in peace time from diplomatic POV.
That also was covered in manga\LN.
Hence the adventurers.
So what is it now? Is it a centralized government that is unable to protect it's borders? This doesn't excuse not sending some guards down there. Or at least allow them to defend themselves better if they have problems. The peasants are still retarded for not putting up any kind of defenses, as far as we can see. And only because it borders some other realm doesn't mean that there can't be troops. Quite the opposite, even if you are on good terms with your neighbors you would still have some troops there.
From what we've been shown guarding against goblins can be something even peasants can do with a little education and maybe some guard dogs.
Early stages of goblin infestation are just loners and scouts, single creatures that newbie adventurers kill easily and are usually starved or weak.
next stage involve establishing a perimeter around the village and checking for signs of the ground being disturbed.
Even later is livestock being stolen, this is the first sign that a den is nearby and they are probably still weak enough that a bunch of guys with torches and farming implements could handle them.
Anything after that and you will actually need some armed force to step in. They will start stealing your women for breeding. They are bold enough and strong enough to want more.
Theoretically Peasants could step up their game and handle everything but a full blown gobbo den if they weren't completely retarded in this story. But then every character but GS is retarded when it comes to dealing with goblins.
>it a centralized government that is unable to protect it's borders?
Oh gosh, how very rare is this for setting without modern mechanized troops mobility?
Do not have required skillset, you can't station them in every fucking village and if they lose the moment of attack - they're not suitable for attacking nests.
>at least allow them to defend themselves
Every country in the world should allow it's citizens open carry assault rifles.
Oh, wait, this will never happen.
>peasants are still retarded for not putting up any kind of defenses
How much spare resources and manpower do you think average village have?
They're not "Team A" locked up in industrial lumberyard with free time, experience, materials and tools.
They're peasants, farmers.
Their labor is manual one and it keeps whole community working together from dawn till dusk and then some just to survive.
They cannot afford to spare resources on assembling something as expensive as defenses.
They will also need someone to teach them how to do it cuz all of them only ever held a hoe in their hands.
>Do not have required skillset
They are dealing with low-level goblins for fucks sake. I would understand it when it's about high amounts of goblins, led by higher evolved ones.
>you can't station them in every fucking village
Of cours enot, you station them somewhere from which they can access a good portion of an area, patrol and aid villages as fast as they can.
>Every country in the world should allow it's citizens open carry assault rifles.
Aside from serfs peasants were always armed to some degree, even peasants like yeomen existed, that were free people with some duties:
>Yeomen were often constables of their parish, and sometimes chief constables of the district, shire or hundred. Many yeomen held the positions of bailiffs for the High Sheriff or for the shire or hundred. Other civic duties would include churchwarden, bridge warden, and other warden duties. It was also common for a yeoman to be an overseer for his parish. Yeomen, whether working for a lord, king, shire, knight, district or parish served in localised or municipal police forces raised by or led by the landed gentry.
>Some of these roles, in particular those of constable and bailiff were carried down through families. Yeomen often filled ranging, roaming, surveying, and policing roles. In Chaucer's Friar's Tale, a yeoman who is a bailiff of the forest who tricks the Summoner turns out to be the devil ready to grant wishes already made.
These peasants have no excuse for being so helpless.
>How much spare resources and manpower do you think average village have?
As much as they need, if there is a demand for putting up defenses then they will cut corners somewhere else.
>dealing with low-level goblins for fucks sake.
Did not reat further.
>dealing with low-level goblins
>evil midgets with nightvision, hobgobs and shamans
>attacking in the middle of the night
Sure, underestimating them worked well so far in the series.
>garrison QRF guards
That's some advanced warfare and require a lot of mounted troops which is a lot of resources.
Infantry won't do.
>peasants have no excuse for being so helpless.
How about many are just busy not dying of cold and hunger?
>they will cut corners somewhere else.
And die of cold and hunger.
Shills got butthurt over day0 LN release it seems.
>I don't like the way argument is going
>better blame other party in making things up and retreat
Whatever you say anon, that would be fine by me.
>The more butthurt Jew Press is
>The higher the prices are
>The less normies buy the books
>Means less profit to Jew Press
>Demise is closer
Hell if no one buys it next time to share - I'll do it just to butthurt them more.
EASILY the worst GS thread so far
Why does this series in particular invite such autistic rage
Actually, don't answer that. 4 months to vol 2 folks.
Well, I still can't order chapter 8 as well.
Being in Europe sucks sometimes.
Well, I can stay, let's get back to it.
>>dealing with low-level goblins
The manga already explained that this is so easy, even some peasant boy can do it.
Expect them at night, attack at day. Of course attacking them in their caves is dangerous, were bringing in some adventurers would be useful.
I already said that guards might not be enough for them
>Sure, underestimating them worked well so far in the series.
These adventurers where also really stupid.
>That's some advanced warfare
Done since ancient times.
>and require a lot of mounted troops
So far I don't see any reasons why they couldn't have some horses. Some nations were able to field more horses than other. But at least some horses for patrolling and scouting should be feasable.
>Infantry won't do.
I never said that.
>How about many are just busy not dying of cold and hunger?
Don't know, what did the manga say? As far as I can tell they are just too poor to pay the guild, but in reality farmers can tend from dirt poor to somewhat wealthy middle-class. They certainly don't seem to be starving, they managed to fed something like cowgirl.
>And die of cold and hunger.
See above. Peasants didn't work 24/7 every day of the year, they actually had a lot of festivals. So it can't be that bad.
>Why does this series in particular invite such autistic rage
>D&D Gods rolling dices
>GS not being Mary Sue
>Who will be gobbed next
>It's a harem
You know why.
That's why we love the series.
>even some peasant boy can do it.
That was for a lone gob though, not an organized raid.
>Expect them at night
That's guard duty, torches need to be everywhere
which is dangerous on it's own, probably guard towers with archers that could stall until woken up people manage to organize the defensive force.
Too much for poor villages.
>adventurers where also really stupid.
You think many farmers are not?
>Done since ancient times.
That explains why brits, balts and franks got their asses handed to them by viking's hit-n-run until they dedicated huge budget sums in special QRF mounted forces dedicated to bearded fucks alone.
Not only does that require a lot of garrisoned mounted troops - it also requires an extensive communication network.
How the fuck would guards know if a village is under attack?
I think frontier is a vast place, you can't put keeps every ten kilometers of it.
Make that a lot of horses though.
A lot of horses taken from a regular army fighting Demon King army.
>but in reality farmers can tend from dirt poor to somewhat wealthy middle-class
But it's frontier.
I'd think most of the villages here are not too well established.
CG farm is one-family business though and within a walking distance of the city.
No wonder their business is good.
>Peasants didn't work 24/7 every day of the year.
>They actually had a lot of festivals
3 day festival is not enoygh to put up solid defenses and train defensive force.
Let alone muster extra buck for all of that.
I guess it's pretty meta huh
Even as we argue incessantly over Goblin Slayer from topic to topic, at the end of the day he will just ignore it and keep slaying gobs
But Guild Girl is best girl
Are there any translations for the second and third volumes, or do I have to wait for the official EN release? I loved the first LN volume.
It's either no one considers LN worth translating or Jew Press licensing it right away discouraged tls.
You can try googling for chinks translations and then machine-translate it to english.
I tried with Youjo Senki and it was on the level Kumo Nani Desu Ka by TurboTL which I managed 110 chapters of before my eyes bled out.
>That was for a lone gob though, not an organized raid.
As I said, that was something you get the guards or adventurers for.
>That's guard duty
Someone will just stay up at night. This is how such things have been done. Guard towers are more than I was asking for.
>You think many farmers are not?
Because farmers encompass a lot of different people? Do you think every farmer is an inbred retard?
Pirates with unusual fast ships coming from the sea are not comparable with some goblins living in the forest next door.
>A lot of horses taken from a regular army fighting Demon King army.
Well if in this thought experiment thy can spare some soldiers, I don't see any reason why they can't spare some horses. I guess that not every soldier fighting the demons is mounted for whatever reason. We even have seen horses in this manga, it's not like they are all gone.
>and within a walking distance of the city.
Well, then there is no excus. A city has guards, a police, some troops stationed there. It's a city afterall.
>3 day festival is not enoygh to put up solid defenses and train defensive force.
>missing the point
>that was something you get the guards or adventurers for.
The fuck we are arguing for again then?
You can't get guards and adventurers on a gob raid, they won't make it in time.
>Someone will just stay up at night.
Gobs have nightvision, humies don't.
You'll have to work around it somehow and I don't see a good way for a village to do it.
The usual way is a guard tower with alarm bell and torch guards patrolling the village.
If a torch guard is not accounted for by tower guard after certain time - he's sounding an alarm.
That's 3 grown males staying up all night and being deducted from daytime workforce.
Not all communities can afford that.
>some goblins living in the forest next door.
Their nests grow exponentially.
If they came with just 2-3 female prisoners to found a new one - you'll have 50 gobs at your hands in a matter of weeks.
It's not like farmers daily explore the forest in search of gobs too.
They won't know gobs are nearby and won't be ready.
I don't see human army being able to spare either in wartime for pests.
>A city has guards, a police, some troops stationed there.
Good idea to leave the city vulnerable for a distraction strike.
>>missing the point
Everyone get drunk and young ones get to fuck girls from other villages 3 days a year.
Other time it's hard manual labor every day.
>You can't get guards and adventurers on a gob raid
I'm not talking about goblin raids, I'm talking about putting on some basic defenses so that the goblin problem doesn't escalate.
>Gobs have nightvision, humies don't.
This is indeed a problem, so the solution to every goblin-related problem is
>If they came with just 2-3 female prisoners
They somehow need to get them first, which should be difficult when they start in small groups and the farmers aren't retarded. It must be really fucking difficult for a being with the strength of a child to kidnap several women.
>Good idea to leave the city vulnerable for a distraction strike.
Why do you think that they need to substract 100% of their fighting force for a goblin problem? Is this how the army of this human nation operates? Throw every men possible at a problem?
>Everyone get drunk and young ones get to fuck girls from other villages 3 days a year.
First result in google
>Other time it's hard manual labor every day.
Surely, but it wasn't backbreaking work every day, it really depended on the season. Between seedtime and harvest would be a good time to work on something like this.
You'll have to feed them and breed them and train them on gobs smell though.
An effort and resources again.
>substract 100% of their fighting force for a goblin problem?
Goblin Lords know tactics.
Weakening city defenses to a degree can be enough for a successful attack.
>being with the strength of a child to kidnap several women.
If you can sneak up and clobber over the head even a Hero would be on your mercy.
>First result in google
My grandparents lived in a village and told be about a life there.
Except for winter when you've got fuck to do if you have no cattle - it's work work work all the other time.
idk about 8 weeks vacations anon, seems like bullshit to me.
Хотя в Google Play уже и на английском есть.
>Weakening city defenses to a degree can be enough for a successful attack.
Didn't know they also attacked cities.
>My grandparents lived in a village and told be about a life there.
Not saying you are bullshitting me, but we have your anecdotal evidence against some researched article. The article may exaggerate to get more clicks.
>Didn't know they also attacked cities.
Gob lord intended to do just that after building up the forces
by breeding the fertile CG hips with fertile gob semen.
>me bullshitting you
There's no guarantee granny didn't bullshit me either.
As if I'm gonna tell my
hypotheticalgrandkids how I slacked off.
>article may exaggerate
That they often do.
GM becomes an hero and Fantasy Goddess just sits there furiously shlicking over Priestess X GS self-made fanfic while making rigged nat20 rolls for seduction.
Great now this is stuck in my head
She got wasted and GS had to carry her home
Does that count?
>Nothing rubs into your back
>But you get to squeeze nice juicy elf hips
I dunno anon.
