Yeah, really. It develops its themes much more consistently, it has better pacing, better action scenes, equally good soundtrack and animation. The only thing S1 has going for it over S2 are the two great antagonists, which are still important characters in S2 anyway.

Insight kinda goes off the rails right away. Maybe it gets better, but I'll have to get around to finishing it to find out.

Crowds was a pretty good balance of arthouse, plot, and whimsical characters.

On one hand, Insight was a lot more heavy-handed about its message. It almost felt like a PSA by the end.

On the other hand, it was the type of message that NEEDS to be as heavy-handed as possible.
