Is KFC on christmas a real thing?
>>151404770
Yes, it is. And it has an interesting story behind it. It all started when the people of KFC Japan noticed that during the Christmas season many gaijin were looking for chicken. They also saw that the Colonel looked a bit like Santa, so they dressed him up accordingly and saw a huge number of gaijn showing up on Christmas to buy fried chicken. Slowly, the Japanese started doing the same when they saw how happy the gaijin were about it and eventually KFC became a staple of Christmas in Japan. You have to have your chicken reserved for Christmas, or stand in 4-8 hour long lines. Don't even think about going to a KFC on Christmas without a reservation.
Are 35-year-old lolis a real thing?
>>151404836
That's not true, it was the result of a massive advertising campaign.
>>151404836
>>151404836
Moron, it was a result of a huge advertising gamble trying to push chicken in Japan during the holidays since turkey was harder to come by there.

I know one IRL but she's married with a kid so dropped.
>>151405837
>>151405020
This. It was in the 70s I believe, called Kentucky Fried Christmas.
>>151404770
Nip KFC shouldn't be a thing period. Way too expensive.
>>151404836
>>151405837
>>151405020
When you people say its not true you have to specify... the waiting in line thing is true, and frankly I dont know if its the gaijins, which might as well be true along side the very successful campaign.
Other than that we got some kfc for christmas eve... I remembered why we dont buy kfc.
>>151404910
ive seen a 23 year old loli, she too is married though so RIP ;_;

I gave up buying the normal chicken, but I still like their wicked wings.
I like dark meat but KFC policy insist that they only sell a mix of both.

>Colonel looked a bit like Santa
KFC was a mistake.
This is also a Mexican tradition

Not true at all

It is in the north, there's a lot of families who just say fuck it and buy a bucket or two. It's not something everyone does but it happens much more than you might think

Yes.

Did liru get a Christmas update?
>>151405020
Yes, and that's how it got started.
>>151407380
>the waiting in line thing is true
I understand Turkey not being avaliable over there since the bird is native to North America, which is why it's so popular in America. But what the fuck? Why don't you fucks just fry your own chicken? Sure you might not have the breading exactly like KFC, but it's not hard at all to make good fried chicken. There's a reason why it started off as poor people food.
>>151415332
Well never lived in Japan, but according to some Japanese folks its because, like most Asian countries, they don't have an oven in each house. It's too big, you see.
>>151415645
What kind of shitty little box does someone live in without an oven
I've never even seen a KFC
>>151404770
No, the traditional Christmas dinner is reindeer.
>>151404770
Yes, also this is the time when nips are actually having sex.
Japanese KFC is premium quality stuff compared to what you're getting in the west.
Just eatPopeyesinstead if you can't manage a real Christmas dinner.

I think they're one of the better cheap fast foods out there to be honest. That chicken is greasy as fuck but it tastes good. Of course I don't know what great chicken tastes like because my Mom never really made delicious chicken.
>>151404836
>And it has an interesting story behind it.
Mitsubishi has majority ownership of KFC Japan. The marketing since 1974 has been to have KFC for christmas. Over time that became the new tradition. Mitsubishi (majority owner) has been excellent at promoting its two brands KFC and Pizza Hut in Japan.

>Is KFC on christmas a real thing?
The great irony is that when Colonel Harland Sanders ran his original store #1, KFC was open every day BUT Christmas. So if it was authentic Colonel Sanders, KFC on Christmas would not be a real thing.
Colonel Sanders sold all rights to KFC for approx $15 million dollars USD in current dollars. Whoever bought it got a great bargain.

You don't need an oven to fry chicken unless you're actually baking it. You use a deep fryer or a deep enough pan like a cast iron skillet on a stove top. I'm sure Japan has burners, they even make individual ones you can plug in on the counter.
>>151415332 >>151419090
>Why don't you fucks just fry your own chicken? Sure you might not have the breading exactly like KFC,
Most home cooks cannot make it taste quite the same way as original KFC because they cannot duplicate the frying process using pressure cookers. KFC has simplified (made cheaper or used shortcuts) to the various menu items such as chicken and gravy, so it's definitely easier to duplicate the current taste.
>>151404770
I read it as DFC for christmas

Japan has plenty of ovens in regular homes. It's the small apartment dwellers that lack space for the large cabinet door type ovens that americans are used to seeing.

>>151423165
Yeah, but you can still have burners without an oven, or a single plug-in one. Japan makes fried foods like karaage (which is the same as fried chicken but boneless) all the time, it's less that making it is the problem and more that it's just been tradition since the 70s.
My country doesn't even have KFC. Otherwise I'd eat there every christmas.
Merry Christmas, /a/

Why
KFC sucks, I don't understand why people hold it in such esteem. It's not great great fried chicken, even for a fast food restaurant

Is that some moon KFC outlet? Why is the bucket written all in English?

That's way too empty. No way that picture was taken Christmas.
I used to like KFC but then all the grease and crumbs became a pain the ass to clean up and what ever spices they use makes me feel nauseous afterwards. The Mac n cheese is still good though.

About reservations and how KFC is under siege by nips during Christmas? Yes. That part is 100% true.
Another staple of Christmas I know is strawberry shortcake. In a nutshell, Christmas in Nipland is all about KFC and strawberry shortcakes.
The relationship between Japan and KFC is pretty weird and oddly enough a good lesson in adaptability in business.
If you ever get the chance, there's this old Enterprise video on the matter.

Wawa does make some good sandwiches.
did anyone else notice that kfc spicy chicken is now getting smaller.
>>151429245
Yo local KFC establishment sucks. Early KFC (the ones that was supervised by the late Colonel himself) is awesome
Also,
>fry
There's several type of "frying". A good KFC joint would fry their shit with pressure cooker fryer instead of just deep frying it
>>151440189One of the reasons she can eat that much is because her body doesn't fully digest the food
>>151417615
This.
What KFC sells in america wouldn't pass for human consumption outside it. Once you leave the US, KFC quality rapidly improves.
>>151404836
>>151417615
>Japanese KFC is premium quality stuff compared to what you're getting in the west.
This is true of a lot of fast food in the US, thanks to a price-driven race to the bottom here (and as a result they are getting replaced by the "better burger" and "better burrito" market segment).
McDonald's food is better in Asia, as it's actually considered a somewhat more expensive and decent place to go. Same thing with Pizza Hut in Japan, it's dying in the US but a strong brand overseas.
>>151404770
Absolutely.
>>151404770
Yes. When nips think of Christmas, they immediately think of chicken. I even went to Costco and all the fried chickens were sold out so I just went to a KFC and lined up (which took around 45 minutes until it was my turn) and got a bucket.
>>151404770
Yep, it is.
