Oi. Time for another delinquent thread. New chapter of Rokudenashi

When I read this chapter of Be-Bop High School I realised it is probably the best delinquent manga ever. I used to call Rokudenashi Blues my favourite because I really liked the art and fights, but you can tell it has the pacing of a popular WSJ since we're 16 volumes in and not at the real meat of the story.

I think that now I have thought about it more, my top 5 series in order would be:
Be-Bop High School
Crows
Bakuon Rettou
Rokudenashi Blues
Kyou Kara Ore Wa
(Hot Road would probably be next)

But seriously, this chapter sums up yankii manga perfectly for me.

I'm not the type to get a tattoo but if I did, it would be a whole body yakuza type one. Gang King is pretty cool at times. The guy who wrote it has written a few more delinquent series but we'll never see scans for any of them.

I made a thread for the RB and Be-Bop releases earlier this month but I'm glad someone else remembers. I started reading A-bout after I caught up with Bakuon Rettou and I have to say it feels like a much better version of Worst or Crows.

The reason why BBH is the best is that if this was Mitsuhashi/Itou, Onizuka/Ryuji, Josuke/Okuyasu, Hayato/Kenji, Maeda and his gang, Bouya/Hana and his gang etc. they would have won, and probably against much greater numbers.

Whereas Toru and Hiroshi just got their fucking arses handed to them and they have still shat up those guys enough that they won't fuck around with them in the future. And this happens all the time with them as well.

I used to think the same thing when I read A-Bout!, and I definitely think it's better than Worst but I'm not certain that it's better than Crows. For some reason I've ended up re-reading Crows multiple times and it's really grown on me, I can see why it was so hugely popular.

I'm really far behind on many of these every since I caught up to them so I'm just letting them sink and picking them up in the future.

Another good piece of news is that Saru Lock got a new chapter releases today after 200 something days, it's from an unknown group so who knows if it will continue but it's still pretty exciting. Saru Lock isn't very popular or even known but I gotta say it's really funny, one of the funniest and it's pretty interesting because the delinquents take place on a modern urban setting so it can be refreshing.

I've also thought about getting one of these Yakuza type tattoos. I like the one you posted that doesn't cover the whole pectorals nor the nipple. Before reading Bakuon Rettou I had always assumed pretty much all of these bikers were always riding bikes below 150cc or 200 tops. I'm sure most did due to cost but I still find it pretty crazy seeing Kase and others riding 400cc-600cc bikes. Now that's some fucking thrill, also expensive as fuck for a kid.

Depressingly realistic.

It's fucking amazing though. Delinquentanon did some digging around and found out that Takeshi Tsutomu used to be in a Bosozoku called ZEROS when he was younger, which explains why it feels so life like. There isn't a Bosozoku manga which is better than it.

Yeah it's rather depressing but one might say that's part of the nature of what real delinquency it's like. Most delinquents became like so because of shitty households and whatnot. Is there any source for Tsutomu being on a bosozoku gang? I heard that as well but would love to see it myself even if I can't read it. I mean, Zero's must have been a rather small bosozoku gang right? I'm just some random dude in the west with minimal knowledge on Bosozoku gangs but I've heard names like Specter and Jokers, never Zeros.

Also, keep in mind a lot of these guys aren't actually active gang members, just kyusha-kai clubs and guys who llike the aesthetic. Bosozoku are much less of a thing nowadays, fortunately or unfortunately.

I first read about it on delinquentanons blog for the release of BR chapter 49.

"I did some research on the mangaka (Tsutomu Takahashi) finally and discovered he used to be part of a Bousouzoku called ZERO in his school days. In fact, A majority of the gangs in this manga are references to gangs that were around during the 80s.

I've got a large book of Bosozoku photos, one of them is in the middle of a rival gang getting the shit kicked out of them, it's a far more gang focused book, as you'll find a lot of them don't have the crazy hair that you find in the pictures posted earlier, lots of them are working class guys who dropped out at 16 or lower.

Quite the opposite. I unfortunately mostly wasted my high school years, so I just think of how cool my years could have been. Also, I just find delinquents some of the most compelling characters in manga; something about that honest rebelliousness, especially when most of the protagonists in manga are either pansies or wish-fulfillment fantasies.

The main reason I like delinquent manga is because they remind me of my time at school (blogshit incoming).

I went to a properly shit comprehensive school which was full of underachievers and trouble makers, quite of few of them went to juvenile correctional facilities (or jail depending on how old they were) and the place was full of people who would love to start shit over nothing.

But while I was there I made some really good friends and I didn't have anything to worry about, I just lived every day one day at a time and didn't give a shit about the past or the future.

Now, I work in a professional field with loads of politics and regulations and can't really be myself anymore and I miss that, reading this sort of manga makes me think about those good times.

My dad obviously couldn't say anything to me about getting into trouble at school since he was always expelled or in detention when he was younger, but he would go on about not doing anything stupid enough to be kicked out permenantly since things are way more different here than where he was growing up. But he always said never to take any shit from anyone regardless of the circumstances, even if it lands you in hot water.

I was lucky that throughout most of my school years I was taller than a lot of people I went to school with so I was left alone. There were a few manlets with little man syndrome who would try and get rowdy but if you ignored them long enough they would leave you alone.

Also, that list is missing Crows Zero 2 (and 1, but that manga fucking suuuuucks while CZ2 is fantastic and done by the Clover guy so it also looks better than OG Crows ever did).

If I was an actual delinquent, I'd punch you in the mouth for saying that. Unfortunately I started translating Worst/Clover/etc because my own high school was decidedly unlike Suzuran.

Oh, I only just now noticed CZ2 is listed on that image as not scanlated. It's just inactive. There are at least 3 volumes out.

I should also mention the manga Out. It's some sort of sequel to Drop. Or Chikin. Or something I still don't know what that whole lineage looks like. At any rate, it's better than anything else Drop related. That -is- totally untranslated though.

I did start off by thinking Worst was better than Crows but on subsequent re-reads of both, I've changed my mind. Worst is kind of average whereas Crows is amongst the GOAT delinquent manga

And if you mean Out by Makoto Mizuta and Tatsuya Iguchi, I'm not sure it actually has anything to do with Drop or Chikin. Out is written by the same guy who wrote Chikin, and Chikin is spin-off of Drop, and Drop is in some way related to Hirsohi Takashi via the artwork. But I don't think Out has any story connection to Chikin or Drop.

The main character from Out, whose picture you posted, is called Iguchi Tatsuya, who, I'm pretty sure, is the blonde guy from Drop!

What fucks me up is that Iguchi Tatsuya is also supposedly the writer of Out, -and- Chikin.

So I guess there's the character Iguchi Tatsuya, from Drop and Out.

And the author Iguchi Tatsuya, from Chikin and Out.

But the character first appeard in Drop, which was drawn by Suzuki Dai (a former assistant of Crows/Worst's Takahashi Hiroshi, who did the original character designs for Drop but that's beside the point right now), and the author Iguchi Tatsuya had nothing to do with that.

As for the manga:
Drop is the original work, Chikin is the prequel to Drop (I'm pretty sure), whereas Out is the sequel.

The main character in Drop is Shinanogawa Hiroshi, and the series is written by Shinagawa Hiroshi (but drawn by the aforementioned Suzuki Dai), while its prequel and sequel have Iguchi Tatsuya as main character.

I put the ones that have any sort of scanlation or that looked interesting but other than that I don't really speak Japanese so I had no idea Dolphin even existed, no synopsis, not even a date or picture on MU.

I'm a weird case, I went through periods of being one of the bigger troublemakers in my school (not particularly fights, but skipping classes, skateboarding in the school's basement, breaking property etc) to periods where I was a depressed fuck with all faith lost in people and in my future, staying indoors for weeks. This was all in middleschool and highschool.

Now I have a motorcycle, I really wish I got into cars and bikes when I was a teen though, would have been such a blast...but being poor and game addicted didn't help.

11's? I mean nothing new new or being serialized but A-bout! is from 2009, Hazuki KannHazuki Kanon wa Amakunai. from 2013, Yankano! 2012, Tiji-kun! 2009, Shonan Seven 2014 on-going, Sugarless 2010, Dokgo 2015, Dokgo Reiwnd 2016, Clover ended this year.

These aren't supposed to be good or anything, just recent. All of these have some sort of scanlation, some are even completely scanlated.

My best bud is in a French masters program, so I got him the first volume of French Bakuon Rettou.
