I've been putting off the anime for a while since I mostly don't like how the characters movements look but exactly how far into the manga have they adapted? I own volumes 1-5.

Tokyo Ghoul I would say is pretty bad but I thought Parasyte was a flawless series. I haven't had this much fun reading a manga since Death Note with all the keikaiku bullshit going on.

I can only guess, that Kaito and his relationship to Nagai had way more significance, and shonen bromance flaire, in the outlined plot of the original author. So glad that he dropped this manga. It only got really good once Sakurai got full control. Even the art got exceedingly better.

It's still getting monthly releases, nothing much is happening at the moment though.

Pretty much everything S2 is anime-original except from the prison episode. They skipped all of the most recent arc and used some of the 9/11 chapter (That got replaced with the toppling skyscraper in S1) on the plane assassination.
Also the manga is hinting that Tanaka betrays Satou and Tosaki is on Satou's assassination list (Which they made clear he doesn't follow, he kills people on the list randomly).
That's pretty much it for the discrepancies, everything else is anime-original.

This is what i didn't get about the anime. Tanaka was growing ever frustrated with Satou and it just looked like he was going to betray him but that never happened. Also the other Ajin said they let the others ajin go instead of burying them, i don't believe that for a second.

The anime diverget quite a lot in the last few episodes.
Nagai's breakdown felt really out of character when he failed to stop Satou at the office, I mean sure, you can go with the whole brittle character thing, but Nagai has been shown to be tough mentally, pic related, same situation, everything is falling apart, but he keeps his cool.


As for Tanaka, I have no idea what happened to make him do a 180° like that, maybe he left symphatetic/indebted for Satou?
