First east-west match was a bit silly. There was no actual danger of losing because Mio was an order of magnitude better than any other player, it was just a stage for Miyata to prove to herself that she had gotten past the international disaster that her decision to leave Judo turned out to be. That the anime skimmed over her past only made it even worse, since the whole thing ended up looking pointless.

The only good thing to come out of it were the many reaction pics of Miyata's dad.

Second was the best because it showed off all of Aoba's strengths without focusing overmuch on her insecurities. She lured all of the other players into her trap, pulled it off flawlessly, and quickly figured out what Glastig Uaine's weakness was. Hip of Babylon (which the translators fucked up as usual), and the rapid-fire hip techniques was merely icing on the cake. Naturally, it had to be a loss for her, because otherwise there'd be no narrative point in Nozomi's match, but her performance was clearly better team and strategic play than "Let's smash the exact same supermoves over and over like a bunch of retards until one of us can't any more".

Despite all the QUALITY, that was a great finish. Gonna miss this show a lot, it's been fun week after week. Both Keijo and Shakunetsu would have benefited greatly from a second season, seeing how crazy they seem to get after where the adaptations end.
