>Episode ain't even out yet
Shut up faggot, homo ending will happen.
I dont care about Yuri on Ice but I'll join in on the Kamille posting.
Placings weren't expected, there's a character that really shouldn't have gotten on the podium.
But stop making threads with these kind of OPs or you're going to invite shitposters
In YoI it's really heavily implied that they love each other, but they are not actually a couple, so pretty much like in Izetta. But there will be a second season for YoI, that wasn't the end.
Also, the little russian boy is there to potentially turn it into a romantic triangle.
requesting this transparent
While I'm kind of confused about the ending in regards to whatever the fuck is going on with Viktor, I definitely had fun along the way. I hope season 2 has a higher budget and a more organized staff.
>still being this triggered over nothing
I miss the old Piggy
Never won gold Piggy
Pork cutlet bowl Piggy, the tummy rolls Piggy
I hate the new Piggy
The Season-Two Piggy
The always rude Piggy, domestic abuse Piggy
>already having post-show depression
Just kill me.
If Victor is returning to competition, he'll have to wait until next season. So they're just going to skip out on the rest of this season? Even though Yuri said his goal was to win gold?
Just dropping in to say the following things.
I skimmed everyone's programs on quadruple speed except Yuuri and Yurio's.
The ending was okay, liked the pair skating, blueballed at the kiss teasing.
Any shitstorms you are now experiencing are entirely of your own making and you deserve them completely, drown in your autism and die while I avoid these threads for at least 3 weeks (I'm sure you will all still be clinging to life in some capacity by then)
There should have been a kiss, but it was still homo as fuck and Yuuri Is now living in Russia with Viktor. Baldfat development was fine, what isn't fine is Viktor returning to skating. Maybe they will pull it off, but right now I'm salty.
Finally watched it with subs and I get it.
Yuuri is a fan of Victor's first and foremost. His love for Victor is fan-love. He wants to see his idol skate again so he tries his best to become Victor in order to inspire him and it works. Victor fell in love with Yuri along the way and is not only inspired by Yuuri to skate again, but inspired by Yurio as well. Both of them beat his record and he's still competitive, but because he loves Yuri, he wants to still see him skate as well.
Yuri made a mistake and was the playboy that stole the maiden from the world, but realized he had to give her back to the world as well. He was okay with being hated for taking Victor away, as long as no one hated Victor. He knew what he had to do. Now he just needs to skate for himself and not Victor anymore. I like this. All three can compete together. I got my wish for them to be rivals with each other, this will be a fun second season.
Oh and that kiss shit you all were going on about was about kissing the gold medal. Here I thought you meant kissing Yuri. Fuck YOU guys.
I feel so cheated but at the same time happy. We got the pair skating, we got the "see you next level" but what the fucking shit
Seriously Yurio winning by such a narrow margin was bullshit
I don't know how I'm feeling. It's not satisfactory
>Upset by the scores
Welcome to SPORTS Fujos.
Watch other anime and continue as usual.
Yuuri is sitting on Viktor's lap, hands around his neck while people are cleaning the ice rink. Lewd husbandos.
I agree, it doesn't feel very satisfactory because Yurio is so green? To win gold in his first year in the senior devision is such bullshit when most people don't even make podium. He still has so much growing to do, that to have him reach his goal already makes it feel like his character potential was thrown out the window.
Yeah and it's so off it makes it look like there are no stakes in this competition. Some people say Yurio should have had such a high score in ep11 regardless of his arms being raised while jumping but I don't remember all the details.
What's even worse is that I can't tell if it's all just for Piggy's sake or not. At the kiss and cry when he smiles after seeing Yuuri so happy he looks the same as he did when he had the fight with Yurio. Fake sad smile that hides his emotions.
Not to mention he's 28 years old which is practically 70 years in skating age. An injury is guaranteed in second season.
Having Victor return to skating is the worst kind of fanservice, and a blatantly 11th hour re-write so they could have a plot for a second season. All the character development about "life and love" and how he was being suffocated by the competition just got thrown out the window.
I thought I'd be most mad about no kiss, but on the scale of things I feel bad about in this finale, it's
>Victor returning to skating
>The final GPF podium barely mattering (Fairy in 1st, JJ in 3rd, medal-less Otabek)
Yeah, it's too much for him to both beat a world record and win gold at his first GP ever. I get that he worked hard but it's a bit bullshit, especially as he tripped - if he would have lost by the 0.25 points to Yuuri it'd have made more sense.
I feel confused and conflicted. It's not good.
I would actually like it if Viktor only did it out of his love for Piggy and forced himself through it, but only if it got addressed properly in the second season with Piggy showing some remorse.
Hit the nail on the head, though I'm madder about the kiss than the podium.
If they really deliver in S2, I will retroactively take back hating on them. But that's the only way they can redeem themselves after this.
The other scores are harder to really judge since you don't see the full routine. There's a level of built-in handwaving. JJ's is completely wrong though. It's entirely possible to skate yourself out of contention in the short program, and that's what he did. He should have finished last.
I want to talk of the pair skating to make myself happy
It was so gorgeous and lewd at the same time. They brushed lips/stolen kisses at least twice during those spins.
The way they clung and looked at each other did things to my dick.
I'm not sure why you think having someone record a few lines that have nothing to do with the plot in a production format notorious for last-second work is an indication of a rewrite.
>season 2 about Worlds
>Victor, Yuuri and Yurio all competeing
>Victor gets fatal injury in last episode
>"Yuuri you have to keep skating for my sake"
Please I'll take anything but this
It feels like Yurio got plot armour for some reason, or like they were going to end it with Yuuri winning but decided to put if off for that S2. It just feels very clumsy. I don't see why Yurio had to win gold narratively either, since being very close second could have given Yuuri the clear message of "If you stop swimming, I'll pass you" just fine.
>"Man, I really wanted to kiss your gold medal."
>"I'm such a failure as a coach."
>Walks over and holds his shoulders
>Puts his leg between Yuuri's
>Presses their bodies together
>"Yuuri, do you have any suggestions?"
>gets right into his face
>"Something that would excite me?"
>Yuuri gasps and closes his eyes awkwardly
>"What did you think of just then?"
>sexual sound and shove from Yuuri
>sexual sound from Viktor
W-what did they mean by this
Now I wonder if he got the plot armour because in the eventual second season Yurio will actually start growing up really fast and he really won't perform as well. It could be interesting to finamly adress that.
I'm not happy about the continued ambiguity, but it is what it is. At least it wasn't full on no homo.
Seung-Gil mentioned the Four Continents, which European countries don't compete in. So if there's an OVA or part of S2 is about Four Continents, then there could be one more competition where Victor is Yuri's coach and not also his competition.
It's not plot armor. There's no rule that the protagonist has to win in a sports story, and retirement was set up as the ultimate decision from the very beginning. If anything it would have been more surprising if Yuuri had won since it would make all the talk about retiring pointless.
Yeah, Yurio's character development so far and everything else would have worked better with him winning silver, just barely missing gold. I guess they tried to pave the way for season 2 with "will Yuuri win gold this time against both Yurio and Viktor" or whatever but it's just such bullshit. It feels like hack writing. Somehow Yurio winning doesn't feel like a conclusion or a victory, even though he worked so hard - it feels like a hack writing solution, like an accident, like a disappointment, and that's a waste of both Yurio's and Yuuri's character dev arcs. It wasn't earned. I'm sure they could have managed to build tension for season 2 in different ways, but Yurio winning gold and Viktor returning feels like such a shit way to do it.
After all this buildup, it feels like a let down
Also where is my onscreen kiss goddamnit
>An AU version where Yuuri wins gold and we get an onscreen "marry me" kiss because they think there won't be a 2nd season and want to tie it up at the end
God fucking damnit, so close
l was content with this episode. lt wasn't good, not horrible as everyone is making it out to be either.
l'm not gonna miss these threads. The only thing l can say l'll miss about this show is Georgi and the wincest twins.
Yurio and Victor now share a coach again, but Yurio probably still lives with Yakov.
It makes sense for Yuri to live with Victor when Makkachin comes running along side him. They're obviously on their way to training and Yuri was late.
I can't believe we wasted 12 weeks of our lives for this.
As weird as it sounds to say it I feel like FairyPig became more canon than Baldfat. Fairy became Yuuri's new Victor when he saw him skate that FS, and Fairy did it all to stop Piggy from retiring. Most touching part of the whole episode.
Yeah, it would be! But I wish it wasn't at the cost of butchering the ending of S1.
I think Yuuri could have gotten gold and still continued to compete with Viktor (they could have explained his continuing through Yurio's passion spurring him on + his desire to skate on the same ice as Viktor). But him losing by a few points because he sort of screwed Eros is unsatisfactory. It realistically could happen, but in terms of story-telling, it's empty.
I expected Yuuri to win after he did that last skate. Like the announcer said, it was the culmination of his career as a skating. I feel like he earned the right to retire, and if he wanted to continue, it would be because of a personal decision or due to a love of the ice. This felt like some act of god descended upon them and is forcing him to skate.
The part people keep post a cap of does look like there was a kiss but got cut out, there's a stutter.
Yeah, season 2 isn't even confirmed which makes the ending worse, although I don't completely dislike it. I feel like things could have felt more like an actual conclusion for all the characters (especially Otabek) and still have an open ending.
boy season 2 I can't wait for
>Victor being forced to chose between skating and coaching Yuuri
>some completely new character who wants to coach Yuuri and make Victor realize he is actually a shitty coach
>More JJ bullshit
>forcing him to skate.
It's pretty obvious Yuuri's problems aren't that he actually wants to retire. It's all about psyching himself into thinking he needs to retire because he's never gonna get better, that he's not good enough for gold. It's like Victor said, when was he going to stop half-assing it already? And then watching Yurio's FS finally lit that needed fire inside him.
Yuri's true self loves to skate and doesn't want to retire, it's his self-doubt that keeps holding him back. "I'm a dime-a-dozen skater."
It was really obvious though.
But I'm still salty about baldfat total fucking lack of developments. They didn't even resolve their argument. It was just "Yeah totally the dynamic will stay exactly the same I wonder if you'll win next year!!!!1 !!"
One kiss, a proper good kiss, was it really too much? One "I love you"? Really?
After all the increasing tension of the previous episodes, it feels like such a goddamn cop-out
I have no idea how I'm supposed to wait a year at the absolute minimum for a continuation of this. I wouldn't care so much if this ep actually felt like a proper conclusion instead of a setup for S2, but as it is I'm just frustrated and want to know more.
Yuri clearly stated that he doesn't consider those engagement rings, so it's still ambiguous.
It's completely retarded in my opinion to do something supposedly as unambiguous as making 2 characters exchange engagement rings and somehow find a way to keep it ambiguous nonetheless, but they did it.
I wish they let us see the original ending too. Maybe as a second 12th episode?? Obviously so many things were cut and changed in the last minute. Ahh Kubo, I hope you can pull the timing off this time.
It would be impossible for Viktor to have the time to practice all of Yuuri's routines with Yuuri, choreograph all 6 of the MC's programs, and have time to focus on his own skating. If MAPPA actually has him doing that successfully it will make Viktor hands down the worst written character in the series.
Not to mention it's not even allowed.
I have more to add to the most erotic scene of the show so far. I doubled checked, and Yuuri's pupils start out small, then dilate when Viktor does his breathy fucking dokidoki line. This is basically "I am trying to arouse you"/"I am very aroused", the scene. Someone should add on a spring sound effect. It would be entirely appropriate.
Victor is getting lucky later that night.
Fuck you why? It was perfect.
>best boy wins
>no kiss and no marriage, FUJOS BTFO
>fujo ship was never confirmed in the end and is still ambiguous fujobait like everyone with a brain predicted
I'm pretty sure Victor isn't going to skate and coach. The return was only with the idea that Yuri was set on retiring. Since that isn't happening, Victor isn't going to return just yet. Aside from the fact he doesn't actually want to regardless.
>Want fun skating anime
>The scoring actually makes it incredibly stressful
Can we just forgo competing and have fun slice of life episodes for each character
Anyone else felt like Yuri suddenly went back to fanboy-idol-mode he had in earlier episodes? Even during his FS he kept saying things like "I've always looked up to you, see the (idol) version of you that lives inside of me" etc. It felt like a big step back for his character
Oh man what an episode I can't wait for next Wednesday the threads are going to b-
Same. The only thing I don't like is the possibility of Victor skating. I don't see much of a dramatic value in it, and it would take up a lot of time better spent on the supporting cast.
Having Yuuri win and retire with Victor wouldn't rule out season 2. S2 could have been from Yurio's perspective, as he tries to get gold next season. Yuuri and Victor could still be there as support. They simply had Yuuri and Victor continue so they could have all 3 MCs compete. It's bullshit.
H-hold me, anon
Stay by my side, don't go
He's always spent all his programs thinking about Victor, impressing Victor, etc so in that sense it's no different. But combined with him wanting Victor to return to competition, it does feel like he's regressed to the fanboy dynamic he had at the start. If they'd spent time on Victor showing Yuuri his love for the sport, it would feel like a natural way of Yuuri demonstrating his love for Victor, but that wasn't the case.
It really is the worst writing choice they've made so far, but I guess that's just their plan for season 2. At least competitive Victor is hot as fuck and I won't hate seeing him dominate, I do love his legend status.
I always like the background characters reacting to their gayness.
Minako/Chris is canon, faggot. Kotomine BTFO. Minako deserves love.
What the hell is going on between Yurio and Yuuko? Is it me or is there some weird emphasis on their practically nonexistent relationship? Is Yurio going to be a homewrecker in Season 2?
Literally his monologue in the fucking end was about there's something one can reach alone in the ice, and that's called "love" with pan to Victor's face calling for him.
He sees Love = Victor.
Yuuko is like a mother figure, something Yurio needs for agape and because his is a no show. In the first episode Yuuri compared her to madonna, she has three kids, she's always been nurturing and supportive (following Yurio before he left, texting im etc) so it seems pretty obvious to me.
I can't hold you but I can give you a broom massage
>>Victor being a 28 year old skating competitively against his fiance because fanservice
This shit is triggering my autism too much. Why. Don't do this to my poor viktor. Let that man have his Love and Life already.
Someone who knows moonrunes knows how are nips reacting to the ending in 2ch and other places?
So when are you going back to tumblr?
No, it wasn't. You're a delusional fujo. Yurio only saw him as a rival to beat. Yuuri sees him in the same way. They don't want to stay together or be in each other's company.
They just happen to share Victor now. Yurio was the big winner in this, because he was proved right: having Victor doing shit for you meant instant win in skating, oh and he has him back in Russia as he wanted.
At the bottom
I personally thought he had some kind of small crush on her. Back in Hasetsu. Nothing serious tho.
Is that just your speculation or it has been said in some interview or something?
If anything it's going to be even worse for him now
>Having to choreograph 6 skates for the MC's
>Be Piggy's coach and somehow manage to train and skate in competitions himself off-season
Perhaps. It is time-consuming, but I imagine that the reason he didn't have a meaningful relationship until Yuuri was that the biggest obstacle was actually establishing it. Now he has one, with a fellow skater to boot. It could be possible. Or maybe the next season's drama will be about finding out that it isn't possible and Yuuri/Viktor wanting to kill themselves.
I haven't seen YoI yet but sometimes visit these threads. Can someone explain why everyone has started to hate JJ from the very beginning? Sincerely curious.
>They just happen to share Victor now. Yurio was the big winner in this, because he was proved right: having Victor doing shit for you meant instant win in skating, oh and he has him back in Russia as he wanted.
Which is why the ending was shit. He never learned anything and he's still a little shit, I hope he gets raped to death.
What are you talking about we love him
Do you think people will care for some Nationals?
Preparing Yuuri for FC means the return of a lot of characters like Phichit, Guanghong and Leo, even Seung-gil was getting pumped.
They are good luck charms but he still bought wedding rings, retard. When he could have bought two watches or something platonic. He doesn't need them anymore after the competition and still keeps them, after Victor says what they were.
You still don't get that Yuuri thought Victor was going to leave him after the competition even if Victor tell him he wants Yuuri to skate forever. He was convinced of this, he wants to be by Victor's side, but at the same time he never had hope. He was surprised that Victor was hurt and angry. Yuuri and Victor still have a long way to go, but both parties do have feelings for each other. They are just painfully autistic, specially Yuuri.
Victor with probably try to train during his free time when he's not training Yuuri. This will come to a head when their personal relationship gets strained and Victor finally has to ACTUALLY make the choice to retire because he can't do both. He finally tells Yuuri about his two Ls and everything.
Its just that YoI is specifically for fujos, not even women in general like Free! was, so the whole idea of het pairings and baldfat all being an elaborate trick just seems silly. Even if they don't directly confirm it ever, theyre never going to deny it, so people can think what they want.
Does he have to choreo Fairy too? I thought just him and Piggy's.
Kubo mentioned that Piggy is already a complete skater so as coach Victor exists primarily as mental/emotional support, I guess if he really is allowed to coach and compete at the same time the workload won't be too bad.
No, really. Many people couldn't use Tumblr for about an hour or so.
>When he could have bought two watches or something platonic.
Yuuri's VA no homo'd it thoroughly in another interview, the idiot must really not want his character to seem gay
>He wanted some kind of proof of that, and as he was looking around his eyes happened to stop on a jewelry shop… I think that if there had a been a shrine right there he would have bought matching omamori.
What's the problem. Victor said after the "it's a good luck charm"scene that those were engagement rings and they're going to get married to each other. Yuuri was really embarrassed but didn't say or imply that Victor was wrong about it. After the misunderstanding at the beginning of ep11 is solved it makes more sense, since Yuuri stays with Victor and doens't leave him as planned.
>Victor is basically his little bitch
This show is filled with plot twists
I fucking hate this ending.
>Yurio breaks Viktor's SP record andwins gold at his first senior GPF at 15, so his story won't have any stakes for the 2nd season and will become a side character
>Pig is a shit and Viktor has to do everything he wants to make him happy
>JJ fucks up BOTH SP and FP and gets bronze
>Otabek has flawless programs and still doesn't get to the podium
>Chris fucks up for no reason, will probably never get gold ever.
This is what I want to believe, but >>151239434 >>151239457 >>151239484 are all on point.
Viktor coming back basically ruins his character development to me. It makes no sense, is pure fanservice as it already has been said in this thread.
I know it's his opinion, hence calling him an idiot and saying it's because he doesn't want Yuuri to seem gay, but apparently the series hasn't been clear enough about how homo it is if even those intimately involved in the process can contradict the idea.
I feel that Victor is the superior skater even if Yuuri and Yurio beat his records, they couldn't beat his complete scores. Yuuri has the advantage of stamina now and Yurio of flexibility because of his youth, but that's bound to change as they reach his present age. They also lack the creativity that Victor has: they never choreographed their own work and relied on Victor or others.
You're assuming a lot of things just based on me pointing out Yuri called the rings "good luck charms".
A wedding ring is just a ring. It becomes a wedding or engagement ring when they both say so.
>They are just painfully autistic, specially Yuuri.
>Yuuri was really embarrassed
Yes he was. Now you're assuming he is ok with the engagement thing just because he didn't outright contradict Victor.
Yuuri is always embarrassed or nervous for a lot of things so it's not like it means much if he acts like that when Victor says they're engaged. What I mean is that him being embarrassed doesn't automatically means he disagrees. How many times did Yuuri barely avoid a heart attack in the whole anime again?
I wouldn't be so mad about JJ if it was realistic for him to win like if everyone fell because that shit happens in real life but he FUCKED UP SO MUCH that he literally became the Patrick Chan of YOI. It's disgusting and unfair.
This is true.
Viktor was so clearly built up to leave skating behind, to quit at his moment of greatest glory and finally be free to pursue his heart's desire.
Having him possibly return to competitive skating while pushing fucking 30 is such a hack solution. It's bad. Bad for him, bad for everyone. It would have been so nice for him to openly declare he's quitting. who the fuck wanted this ending?
>A wedding ring is just a ring. It becomes a wedding or engagement ring when they both say so.
A wedding ring is a wedding ring because is written on the receipt of the store. This is a fact and you can't change that. He bought wedding rings as fact.
Anyway, they are autistic and fail at communication, because both think they are doing shit that will make the other one happy, they are BOTH being self-sacrificial without understanding what they want. But at least Victor did try to say so once, so I give him more of a leeway. So I don't expect them to resolve their shit until season 5 ending when Yuuri finally gets gold.
Not only is it bad it's literally worse than how it was before. Now he has to juggle between being a coach, choreographer and skater himself. It won't surprise me at all if his character arc in season 2 is about being too stressed out and lashing out on Piggy or making him feel neglected
Let's see. Canon straight characters
>Yuko and her husband
>Yakov and his exwife
>Yuri's sister and Minako, both straight women
>JJ and his fiancee
>Georgi, his exgirlfriend and her new boyfriend
>ambiguous unconfirmed fujobait
Moon translators on this thread say that is what nip fujos wanted. I'm curious if that's only on twitter or in other places they are as assblasted about it as us. It's hard to believe for me that most of the nip audience is totally fine with this, is a hack solution as you said.
I didn't expect them to get married this season, that would feel rushed. But I kinda expected Yuri getting taught by his idol irl would've pushed him farther. Spoiled 16 year old shota taking the medal? Whatever....
My dream one would have been
>Otabek - Dark horse winning, could inspire Yurio to do better
>Yuuri - Same, he was obviously not going to get gold but win something
>Chris - He deserves better dammit.
>Yurio - He is too green to win so quickly. But being close to wining and beating Viktor in something should have been enough.
>Pichit - He is too pure and would be still happy if he lost.
>JJ - He needed a reality check, he needs to work on his finals nervousness.
Fuck. I could have forgiven the placements if there had been a wedding scene.
I want to see what Victor can pull out of the hat now that he is presumably inspired again, while at the same time considering his aging body. He may not have the energy of youth anymore but seasoned artists are great to watch.
But my secret is wish Victor going back mostly because it made his pig happy, pig finding out, and then them finally giving serious thought to their fucking homo yet unspoken relationship, leading to real romance and Victor retiring for good after just one season
but not before breaking both WRs again and cucking everybody one last time.
>but not before breaking both WRs again and cucking everybody one last time.
Victor returning bullshit would be redeemed if he gets gold and his two fuccbois get next places in the podium.
Such heavy hack. It really feels unfulfilling. Unfulfilling, empty, and vaguely disappointing despite the supposedly high stakes.
After episode 10 I thought there's no way they'll fuck the ending up, but they, uh, found a way.
I think what the VA said makes sense and is in line with Yuuri's character. You have to admit Yuuri is seriously clueless and retarded when it comes to social interactions.
And I'm not arguing about them not being gay, just about them not being engaged. Before someone accuses me of being the evil hetfag.
Yes they can, but then it's better to recognise that it's your own interpretation than to defend it despiste evidences.
He didn't disagree and he didn't agree, it's still up in the air.
>A wedding ring is a wedding ring because is written on the receipt of the store
Wedding rings are essentially two matching rings. You normally buy matching rings as wedding or engagement rings, so it makes sense that it's what is written on the receipt. It's still just rings.
And finally, none of these two characters is realistic, nobody in their right mind would buy matching rings and call it a good luck charm. But Yuri is a cartoon characters and he did it.
Fairy didn't have to win gold to inspire Piggy to return. It would have felt better if just watching his FS was enough to inspire him but now Victor and Yuuri got this weird pressure about winning the medal.
FAIRY FUCKING WON
JUST LIKE I SAID HE WOULD
YOU FUCKS THOUGHT HE DIDN'T HAVE THE STAMINA
This final episode has tons of animators (AND directors, AND storyboarders, etc) compared to your usual anime episode production and it still had loads of QUALITY. Time and good production management > budget.
Oh of course he's still in great shape. But his stamina, flexibility, spryness just won't be the same as when he was younger. I genuinely wonder if he can constantly godmode everyone again.
It was all for Piggy's sake though. He really turned out to be the secret harem MC all along
Something happened in the last episode. Whether it was a massive production meltdown or rewrites or whatever, the production committee threw a shitton of money at the finale to prevent it from being delayed. (If they had spent the money earlier by giving MAPPA more time, it would have been much more efficent but business can be crazy)
I've gone overboard, I'm gonna upload it on /cm/ at some point.
I feel so bad for Viktor's balls
Holy shit he really deserved to get laid, it's not fucking fair
>Nothing, he won because it's a competition
That only applies in real life. Looking at the show in the context of it being a show with themes and messages, Fairy's win was meaningless. Fairy himself didn't even get anything out of it.
Many, many folders and subfolders of fanart such as pic related.
Tell me about it.
literally the best ending
>waah why didn't they literally fuck on the ice rink
You're right but that's the ending we got.
Yurio was way worse than JJ
It's narratively bullshit that he got both gold and broke a world record despite never having a properly humilitating character growth moment
Honestly I would have respected them so much if they would have had the balls to bring s1 to a satisfying ending and just applied some imagination to make the setting in s2 interesting anyway. But this just feels like dreadful hack writing; "we didn't give you closure or satisfaction, so you're gonna watch and spend money on the s2, right?"
To be fair MAPPA wanted this themselves, even saying they would heavily consider an S2 if he was successful. And it was. So they were going to do it anyway.
A lot of these threads (before this episode) and outside of it mostly wanted an S2 too.
This is not happening. I'm dreaming and this is a nightmare.
please explicitly explain how this was a shit ending according to you
Problem is the season 2 hook. He's already beaten Victor's WR and got gold medal on his first GPF debut. How the hell is he going to reach his new goals in next season without ending up looking like superman?
I've partially read it. The themes and messages of that and this are totally different though. Can you really say that Yuuri's losing and Yurio's winning was meaningful or that it added to their character development in any way or that it tied up the series?
Nice, I see we had similar need to split everything up into random folders. I've done the same for the solo folders and other pairings but Baldfat needs the most for some semblence of organization.
But we wanted a season 2 with a decent ending for this one, baldfat solved and maybe something focused on fairy since this one has focused on nip Yuri. Not some cheap "uhhh let's leave everything for season 2 so we'll make more fujobuckets!!"
You're not wrong. But Yurio winning wasn't satisfying at all. Yurio in general, actually, since he goes from one of the main characters to some secondary character who varely appear to one of the competitors except the story tries to make him look important even though he stopped being interesting. His shitty mood swings between some of the episodes just to have more shitty drama were annoying too. Even JJ would have been better off as the winner. Yurio just feels out of place in an anime where he's one of the main characters after all.
As other anons said, Yurio wanted to go all out because he'll lose flexibility soon. Without it, he's not going to be as good as before.
The problem Yurio and Yuuri have is that they rely on one strong trait they can lose at any time. While Victor is an all rounder.
